If I had to participate in the Olympics, my event would be bobsledding. I'm pretty sure I can push the sled and then hop in quickly enough. I couldn't be a driver though as I'd likely crash.
If you had to participate in one event in the Olympics, what would it be and why?
In case you are stumped, here's a list of sports:

Curling - because I am not super coordinated and not a bunch of people know about curling so the chances of me qualifying to make the team would be better.

Gymnastics. It’s always been my favorite to watch and follow year round.

Can I carry a flag in the opening ceremonies? That is seriously the best I can do in athletics. Tennis, volleyball and ping pong are really the only sports I even know how to play and I'm pretty bad.

If we're pretending I hadn't had 2 back surgeries and still daily pain, AND was in good shape, then softball or baseball. If we're going to pretend those things AND that I had sudden skating talent, then figure skating or hockey. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/laugh.jpg.gif)

Curling - because I am not super coordinated and not a bunch of people know about curling so the chances of me qualifying to make the team would be better. I was going to say curling too. I love watching it and think it would be fun ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) .

Equestrian events. Stadium jumping and maybe dressage (but I’m not very good at dressage).

Oh elaine just gave me hope! I am the *least* athletic person on the entire planet. Truly. I was thinking, I can't even pretend to be an Olympian. Duh...I grew up with horses and showed for 20ish years. I could totally rock the Equestrian events. I'm in!

Definitely gymnastics. I was the perfect age to see Olga Korbut in the Olympics (on television). I was short, relatively muscular, and flexible, but never took a class since we lived overseas.

Curling - because I am not super coordinated and not a bunch of people know about curling so the chances of me qualifying to make the team would be better. That was my first thought before responding. You also don't need to be in that great of shape and you have the possibility of competing multiple times unlike sports like gymnastics.

Softball. I was a heck of a hitter in my heyday.
But fantasy? Beach volleyball. Those girls always have a six pack. I would love to have a six pack.

I'm another one who'd want to carry the flag!
But also curling because yelling "hurry, hard" on TV for all the world to hear would be hilarious!

We visited Lake Placid several years ago in the summer and watched the skiers high-jump/flip practice (not quite sure of the official event). Quite a feat to watch them land in a pool of water vs. on the ground during the winter sports. I would say that I would not want to be a ski jumper.

Tennis. Because I was a decent amateur player before I was sidelined with injuries.

My dad always said to aim right between short stop and third base and/or over the short-stop's head and run straight and as fast as you can to first base. Don't look to see where the ball went-just run. I was never a good hitter, unfortunately..but always remembered his advice.

I didn't see anything on that list that included a couch, a bed or sleeping. I might make it as a spectator if I didn't fall asleep from boredom. I have no interest in any sports at all.

Archery. I’ve always loved bow shooting. I ride horses, so possibly jumping. Rhythmic gymnastics is the one with the ribbon. I’ll save that for the pea couch potatoes ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

For a skill I actually have -- swimming. Butterfly specifically. Of course I'd need to be 40 years younger and a lot better. For a skill I don't have -- that winter sport where you cross country ski and stop to shoot things. Of course I'd have to learn the name of the sport to start.

My first time at bat, I'd usually aim for the center fielder because 95% of the time, they underestimated my power and I could put it right over their head. Being right handed, though the safest and easiest place to aim is for the short stop second base pocket. But it all depends on how many runners you have on base too. If you have a runner on 1st, then you aim for third.

I am in awe of people who can actually aim where it is going to go.

I think I’d go with track and field events. Mostly shorter, faster runs and relay events.
