So I went to Ms the other day and the Vagabond was on clearance for $75. How could I not buy it? I got it home and still haven't opened the box... Why? Because I already have a Big Shot and I don't think I need the Vagabond. I bought it because the price was too good not to and because if I left without it I'd probably kick myself for not buying it but now that I have it I don't think I need it! I know there are a lot of people out there who own several different machines that do the same thing, but I don't fall into that category. Should I keep it? Take it back? Sell my Big Shot and keep it? What would you do?

I can tell you what I DID;-). I bought the vagabond because it's cute, then I heard to many stories of it breaking down, and resold it. I love my bigshot (so much so that I have a spare hidden away just in case).

I had a cuttlebug then upgraded to the big shot. Ended up selling the cuttlebug because I never used it and wanted to free up some $. I'm not sure what I'd do. You could try out the vagabond and see if you like it, I know lots of people rave about them. If you love it, you could sell your big shot!

What a great deal you got! I didn't think I need one either---until I used it. Now I can't imagine die cutting without it. I tend to do a lot of die cutting so this machine is great for me. just push the button and it goes! I still have my cuttlebug but I only use that if I have to make one quick cut. otherwise, I love using my vagabond. I don't store it on my desk when I'm not using it so it's great that it folds up and can be tucked away somewhere. I think you should give it a try.

Not to brag (okay maybe a little! ) but I actually won a Vagabond from Two Peas and it's signed by Tim Holtz!! I don't use it as often as I should. Too lazy to drag it out.

I bought the first Vagabond in our country and Tim signed it for me while he was doing a class here. I use it a lot.

I am a cutter junkie and use them all. I bought the vagabond because it was so darned cute. You really got a fantastic price!! Heck,I still have and use my red sizzix. I gave a small cricut and quikkutz to my granddaughter and sometimes wish I had the quikkutz again. I have another cricut, and also use it. I love variety and like I said,I do have a problem, lol!

No Anniefb, I still haven't opened the box! I'm pretty sure I'll be returning it this weekend... Just really don't think that I "need" it.

Why would these be priced so nicely? Are they being discontinued?

From what I hear, the big thing is not to force something as the motor doesn't understand "jammed" and will keep trying to push something thru. My friend's machine died from it and she went back to the big shot. For $75, it's a deal. I got my other friend one for $125 and we thought that was good!

I also have the Vagabond and the Bigshot. Then I got a backup Bigshot for a great price...and it was the cute aqua one. How could I resist? Lol

My sister & I surprised my mom with the Vagabond when it came out for an "early" Mother's Day gift (and then bought her a bunch of dies for Mother's Day). The three of us had always been interested in dies, but never bought any of them or the machine because we all have some sort of wrist problems and thus little strength in our hands. When this came out we were excited not because it was cute and not because it was Tim Holtz, but because it was electronic. It was one of the BEST craft purchases we have EVER made, hands down. My mom loves her dies and uses the machine like CRAZY. (My sister and I are her "suppliers" and buy dies the 3 of us like, but ultimately neither of us have learned to use the machine since our mom is more than happy to cut anything we need for our projects. That's "her thing," just like making buttons/flair is "my thing" with my button machines ) She cuts paper, wood veneer, balsa wood strips from Micheal's, aluminum cans, even those faux rhinestone strips made of plastic. It cuts a LOT of stuff (with the sturdier dies, not the thin ones) and that machine has allowed her to use her dies way more than she would have if she had a manual machine because of the arm strength and wrist strength it takes, plus the repetitive motion of having to cut with something like a BigShot. I cannot recommend the machine enough, and if the machine broke tomorrow, I would go out and purchase her a new one, even if it wasn't on sale. That machine has more than paid for itself (and my sister and I paid full price because it had just come out).

Wow! Thanks for your post Titancia! I still have the machine sitting on my table with the box unopened since I bought it. One minute I'm ready to take it back and the next I can't bring myself to load it in the car. I know I got an amazing deal and for that reason alone I want to keep it, but after reading your post, I'm convinced that it's mine to keep!

What a great price!! Good deal!
Another one here who LOVES my Vagabond! As someone else said - if mine died tomorrow, I would have to get another one. I use a lot of dies and not having to hand crank (like with the Big Shot) is a huge deal for me. I have hand and wrist issues, so having it be powered is such a life saver.
I haven't heard stories of them breaking down. Mine has worked perfectly and I give it a lot of use. A lot! (and now I need to go knock on wood)
Open it up! Enjoy it!

I've thought about buying one - have my Original Wizard, Cuttlebug and my Cricut. JoAnn's email today showed the Vagabond on sale for $100 - hum. . .

That's a great price! I've resisted buying one because ï didn't like how it looked. I recently bought the ebboser and love love not having to crank to get my dies through.
