msliz , so nice to see you checking in. Shopping sounds almost as fun as scrapping and you'll be prepared when the winter storms come. You can hole up and scrap this winter. Glad you are well. grammadee , I would love to do a Pokey Peas holiday card exchange again. Thanks for tagging those we don't see often. I know I can't keep up with the BIG Refupea card exchange, but our little group sounds great. I went to the Echo Park sale this morning with DD. I got to meet refugeepea and chat a few minutes. That was fun. They were selling paper packs 3 packs for $20, or 10 packs for $40. Enamel dots, brads, die cut packs were $2 each. 6x6 pads were 5 pads for $10. Emily and I were able to split some of the things and came away with a box of new goodies each. That should keep me going for at least a year!

Did you notice my daughter's star sweater? She was wearing a Marvel t-shirt underneath.

Next year we will have to arrange it better so we can go to lunch together. We were late getting there and I could tell you were in the shopping mode. We were anxious to get to the goodies too. Thanks for arranging to meet us. I did see your DD's star sweater. I'm sure you couldn't miss my DD's purple hair. LOL. See you next year and I'll buy your lunch.

grammadee, I got some older collections. I loved the colors in Fine and Dandy from 2012, so picked one up. Also got Creative and Crafting collections, a Fall one and some of the Dots and Stripes in various colors. I got some 6x6 pads of Christmas and some enamel dots. I splurged and got some large "all over" pattern stamps for card making. I loved what Jennifer McGuire showed today on her YouTube channel, using those with embossing and inks. None of the newest collections were on sale, but I don't mind using older papers, especially at those prices. Now I just need to get busy ordering more photo prints.

ABCreations, Thank you so very much for the signature badges!! They make me so happy to have them back. grammadee, I’d join the pokey card exchange. Please use my new address. We are so lucky you are such a master organizer. Thanks for doing this for us. Glad you are home. DGS made a fabulous page. justjac, I used to see your pages on IG but you haven’t been sharing them there this time around. So I will see them here, as many as you’d like to share, or in the gallery. I’m loving the “crack” title on the home improvement page. I hope to go get a better look in the gallery. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to grammadee and justjac! What are your weekend plans? nylene, your cards are all adorable. I already left some love in the gallery on a few, but I think that box card is so clever. It’s great that you have EP sale to go to but even better to have someone to split the goodies with. So awesome for a pea meetup as well. msliz, it’s so good to see you. kellyr21, how's the next step of the painting going? joyfulnana, you have a 3 day weekend, do you have any fun plans? Just relaxing and vegging out sounds like fabulous plans to me at the moment. I can't believe it's already Friday. Today DH is taking DS to Grand Rapids to a book signing and presentation by an author that DS has enjoyed in the past. Then they are trekking up to the farm since they are halfway there. A stupid squirrel got into our farm house. I've seen him on the inside living room camera like 4x, but never on any of the other cameras. I think he found his way out, but DH is going to set a trap and see if he can see where he got in from and seal it up. Freaks me out. They're also going to site DS's gun for deer hunting season. DH was going to do his, but with the pinched nerve decided against it. As to DH's pinched nerve, he's seen some major improvement. Unfortunately not all the way. I really think he's just too stressed out at work. Luckily the farm does relax him, so hopefully a trip there will help. DD and I are going to attend a haunted house. She doesn't know what to expect, but I jump at even slightly startling things on TV when they play the music and you know it's coming. Both kids get annoyed with me. I've told her to expect worse at a haunted house and to not let go of my hand!! I haven't been to a haunted house since I was a kid. She's a wee bit excited, and I'm a wee bit nervous. Okay, off to try to get something done since I seem to have a never ending list of things to do.

Sounds like both kids--and both parents--will get a chance to fill their love & attention cups, LisaDV. Love your weekend plans. Hope everyone takes lots of photos. Hope they get the squirrel out of the house. They are cute, but can be REALLY destructive! As for our Thanksgiving, dd is already here with her little guy. She is upstairs doing some TA work she has contracted to do, marking papers. Dgs has gone into town with Grampa for coffee and a doughnut. When they get back I will be tag teamed in. Later today dd's hubby will be arriving. He has been away with the military at a training centre in Latvia for a month. They will all be here until Monday. On Sunday, dh's sister and her family will be arriving for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone is pitching in, so not too much work at this end. My job is the turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and mashed turnips (and dd and sil have promised to help with that). One of the things I hope to do with dgs today is to create a centre piece for the table. Or maybe just a sign. I want to get a good photo this weekend of the three of them with a Thanksgiving theme. One of those photo shoots with a specific page in mind... hope we don't kill each other while trying to record a "happy memory". Adding msliz and LisaDV to the holiday card list. Who else would like to jump in? Don't worry about addresses yet. I will set up a PM when we know who all is playing along.

nylene you have been on fire for CARDtober. So many pretty cards. Your purchases sound fun. It's probably best for me that I am nowhere near sales. I am currently waiting on three! happy mail deliveries. One of which includes Kelly Purkey's baking stamp set that I wish I had for LOAD today (but I don't think that one has even shipped.) grammadee I'm glad you've got DH to split the grandparent time with you this weekend. It sounds like you were very busy while looking after DGS. I'm in for a Christmas card exchange. LisaDV we're leaving Saturday morning for my mom's. It's about a 5 hour drive. We'll stay there until Monday morning. After we get home we'll head to my MIL's for Thanksgiving part 2. I'll be doing digi pages for LOAD while we're away from home.

Wow, I've got a lot to catch up on! grammadee yes to the card exchange! Happy Thanksgiving grammadee and justjac!! And wow you have had a whirlwind couple of weeks! That's so cool that you got to take DGS to his first movie. And a bonus that he stayed focused on it lol. It's always hit or miss at that age. Love his scrapbook page too! It always thrills me to see kids interesting in arts and crafts! I'll bet he loved having you there all that time. Sounds like you kept each other busy lol. Love the idea of getting a photo shoot, I never think about it when we all get together. Until after the fact when I wish I had the photos to scrap lol. I hope your weekend goes as planned and doesn't end up too much work! (or injuries lol) nylene dental work is the pits. I hope DH gets some good news from the biopsy. You could use it! And that card is the coolest! No wonder Alex kept pulling it over and over, I would have too! I love it! You are so creative with your card making. I'm so jealous of you getting to go in person to the EP warehouse sale! And to meet a pea! That's awesome! Sounds like you got quite a haul too! LisaDV I hope your DH's back is feeling better. You have so much on your plate, I don't know how you do it. Did you get the grass mowed before DH could try and help? And now that I've read further into the thread, I see he is feeling some better, I'm so glad! The haunted house would be a big NO from me. I do not enjoy them at all. I jump easily, I jump at scary TV, all of it. I can't wait to hear how you two like it. Especially DD! I have no plans for the long weekend. Just vegging at home. My favorite thing to do. justjac I love seeing your pages! I left love in the gallery. Have fun with your family and safe travels! Good to see you pop in msliz The bday party was fun! It's been a lot of years since I've been on a trampoline. For every two jumps I lost my balance and fell lol. Some of Rudy's cousins were there so there were kids running around like crazy lol. They had a blast. I've been trying to keep up with the commenting and getting into the gallery here and there. Still no scrapping. I took a long weekend to get a lot of scrapping done and so far zilch. It's been so long that I'm having a hard time getting started. I did get some organizing and picking up done, which is kindling the mojo so I'm hopeful. I've been rearranging furniture too lol. I also stopped by the LSS here that is open the same hours I work lol. I got a few sheets of Kaisercraft Mountain Mist papers, but that was it. The store is fairly small and she had the new Crate Paper Christmas line but I'm all full up on Christmas stash. I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

grammadee, I’m glad you will have help with the dinner. I do hope you are making sure to get your rest and eating properly so you won’t have another hospital stay. Will the photo shoot photo be the October Family Calendar page? The tag team method is a great way to play with little ones. gramma, congratulations again on your newest family member. So adorable. justjac, two Thanksgivings is always a good thing! I wish you a safe trip. joyfulnana, I don’t think I could have gotten on the trampoline. I wouldn’t have been able to get up after falling on the bouncy surface. Sometimes it’s nice just to not have any responsibility or plans. Although I understand the so far zilch for scrapbooking. Me too. I crashed my digital supply software program at the beginning of the month. I had to contact customer service to have them help me get it going again. Then I had to reattach my database to it. I finally got it fixed early this past week. I’ve come to my computer with intentions of scrapbooking a few times but have had no mojo. I think I’m just going to have to make myself do a page. Even if I don’t like it, it will help get the creative juices flowing. I woke this morning to 35F! I felt like I was in Canada. Lol. Sending smiles and waving hi to all!

Will the photo shoot photo be the October Family Calendar page? The tag team method is a great way to play with little ones. Hoping to get a good photo for the calendar page. The sign is still in construction. Dgs and I painted the letters. Grampa and Dad found and cut down a barn board, and I have stained the ends. Just waiting for dgs to come in to modpodge the letters on. Of course the sun is shining beautifully now, but not sure what the weather will be like by the time we actually get to the photo shoot. I think dd would like to have everyone dressed for Thanksgiving dinner before we take the pic's. Actually that would give the sign some extra time to dry, but if the weather goes wintery we may have to take the photos inside. I can understand the draining of your mojo if you have been having issues with the computer on something else. You don't need to be feeling stressed just b/c you are near the computer.

I just received a note from kellyr21. She has just had a major surgery and is home now after a stay in the hospital. I will leave the details to her if she wants to post. She did want me to leave the Pokeys a message. I copied a part of it for you: "I am just taking it easy and recovering now. But I will visit the pokey peas when I can. I am so relieved it is over now. Thank God! LOL!" "So just keep me in your prayers and my dh too. He had been a trooper. He had this week off to be with me and returns to work Monday. We will be getting me some help this week as I am not able to lift things or get around to fast." I know she would appreciate well wishes and prayers for both of them. She considers you all such good friends. Thanks!

I'm way behind and not sure I can catch up on all the posts here. kellyr21 - prayers -hope you're quickly on the mend grammadee - you've had a productive month even with the travel. I'm a yes for the card exchange - the BIG refupeas one is too much for me but a small Pokie Peas one sounds just my speed. Hi to everyone else! I'm finally starting to feel better - as I told DH tonight when I showed him my first layout, you can tell I'm on the mend when the creativity returns. It's been an exhausting week between the tooth infection (gums are still a little sore/swollen but much improved) and the cold - I've been in bed before DD13 most of the week. Today she and I volunteered at a local church's fall festival - they've been hosting Girl Scout events for over a decade and this was a way to give back to them. It was fun but tiring. We were there from 830-2.

Prayers for a quick recovery, kellyr21. And I'm glad to hear you're feeling better Linda. My DDs gave me a happy surprise today. While I was off at a birthday party for my 90 year old aunt, all 3 of my girls went hiking together at a nearby ridge, and when they got to the summit *** they took pictures for me! *** They're good kids! And they took some nice photos too

Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys! kellyr21 , I hope you are recovering well from your surgery. Linda , I hope that oral infection is under control. Hopefully the antibiotics will scare away any sinus bacteria that want to take up residence. msliz , that is so cool that your dd's sent you photos to scrap! I love it when my family post pic's on our shared gallery or text them to me directly. (Didn't appreciate the pic's of my ds golfing yesterday at 70F--see weather report below LOL). LisaDV and joyfulnana , I hope the mojo has come home to MAMA. I have known for a week that I would have most of today to myself, and thought I could put together a bunch of pages and get my card samples done for CARDtober, but so far I have my card for tomorrow done, one started that is NOT a sample but that has to get into the mail this week, and nothing else. I find that if I don't craft every day it is much harder to get going when I start up again. It has only been a few days, but it seems like my creative brain needs to take awhile to warm up... We had a busy Thanksgiving weekend with dd & family here from Thursday to Monday and dh's sister's family here for turkey dinner and cards on Sunday, then leftovers on Monday. Saturday and Sunday were sweater--and even shirtsleeve--weather and I got to take some pic's of dgs playing in the leaves Saturday and of dd's family with some fall backdrop on Sunday. Yesterday we woke up to an inch of SNOW! Dgs had a wonderful time making snowmen and running with the dogs. Kandi was as excited as he was to see that white stuff. I posted some pic's in the October Photo thread. I want to scrap THOSE, but won't have them printed until Saturday when justjac and I are taking a mixed media class at the LSS. Still waiting to hear back from @elaynef , kellyr21 , maribeth , justlisa7 , patin , knutschen , woodysbetty , shinyhappytina about the Pokey holiday card exchange. ABCreations, maybe you would like to join us, too. I SOOO appreciate having Cindy's dancing turtle back.

kellyr21 , still praying for you! Hope you are following doctor orders. Linda , how are you doing? grammadee , dgs & your sign came out so cute. Love the photos too. Not very crazy about that snow in October though. Sorry you’re struggling with the mojo. msliz , those are good girls you have!! DD was not feeling good on Friday or Saturday, so we didn’t get to the haunted house until Sunday. The boys came with. I was extra happy about that. Don went first and he doesn’t jump easily so they’d leave you alone after not getting a response. I was the end, and one fellow followed me for a while, I was glad when we got to the next section. DD had my hand pulled up to her front and I had to walk at a funny angle. Also, the floors had panels that slid. Needless to say, my foot which was doing much better has been hurting like crazy all week. It was worth it though. We did get out about three-fourths of the way through as the strobe lights were giving DD a migraine. The midway had scary movies playing, food vendors, games, and such. They had a bubble machine going that had smoke inside the bubbles. DD & I were having a blast popping them. Since my foot is hurting more I have had to take it easier this week. Although I don’t have the time to take it easier, I have to. What’s a gal to do? I forced myself to do a layout. Although I wasn’t crazy about it, that always seems to be the case. I’ve now done 6 pages and have another in the works. Not a total loss, well, at least to me. Maybe to the family who has to live with the piles of boxes and such. Oh and Sunday and Monday we finally closed down the pool. DH still has a few hoses to unhook underneath, but everything else is done and the cover is on. Tuesday, we woke to frost. Just in the nick of time.
I'm off to the kitchen this morning. On the agenda is poaching some chickens to pull apart for pot pie and starting the stock that I'll be using plus having extra of and making some applesauce. The boys brought a small bag of our farm apples home last weekend.

I am finally feeling better thankfully -especially since I am camping with DD13 this weekend. I see the oral surgeon for a consult tomorrow and we'll schedule three extractions then. LisaDV - I'm sorry that your foot is still hurting - take it easy and scrapbook! Even taking it easy you still seem very busy. grammadee - SNOW? you really didn't have much of a summer did you? And here I was happy that the temps are cooling off to highs around 80/lows around 65. Glad that you had a nice Thanksgiving. Hopefully the mojo returns soon msliz - photos! yay! kellyr21 - continued prayers

Linda, I am glad you are beginning to feel better, but sorry you need work with the oral surgeon. I hope that goes well for you. I love all the cards you just posted with the cut-a-parts. Very pretty. LisaDV, I'm sorry your foot is hurting again. Seems like the aches come when there is the most work to be done. Do you think there's a connection? Take it easy. Your company knows you have just moved in and will expect some boxes. Congrats on getting some scrapping done this month. BTW, how is Dh's back doing? grammadee, it seems like it wasn't that long ago that you were up to your neck and ears in snow. When did summer and fall sneak in and out? Everything here is frozen, but we haven't had snow on the ground yet. Plenty in the mountains for this early in the season. The ski season is in swing. I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving with family around. msliz, I look forward to seeing your "mountain top" photos scrapped. What great girls you have! kellyr21, I hope you are feeling better each day. Hugs and prayers for you and Ron. I had my broken crown taken off yesterday and prepared for the new crown. I have a temporary on until next week. I spent most of the rest of the day working on cards. I got 4 finished. I will post them later today. I also finished a layout that has been sitting half finished for a month. We are on Fall Break so the grands will be around, in and out, through Monday. Waving at each of our Pokeys! Drop in when you get a minute.

Yup, Linda, SNOW! It has (mostly) gone now, but temps are hovering in area just above or just below freezing. Waking up to frost on the grass most mornings. Sounds like you are having PERFECT temps! When we were in Florida in late October a few years ago, temps were still in the high 90's and that was a little warm for us northerners! You have been a crafting MACHINE! I finally managed to add up my points and when I went to record them I saw that you are already at over 1800. WOW! Tried to get caught up on a bunch of things this morning on the board. Think I caught everything in the Sharing thread. Still need to check the Gallery and the CARDtober threads. LisaDV, glad you got the pool shut down before the freezing temps hit. Dh got a little panicked by the weather forecast and shut our outdoor water down a few weeks ago. I was not happy that we still had stuff in the garden but no way to wash the root veggies outside, but also happy that everything was done before the cold actually hit us. Sad to see the pool shut down for the winter, though. I hope your foot gets better with rest. Uneven footing is one of my greatest fears. One of my first attacks of knee pain started with a cruise with really rough seas. Trying to take a step and the deck rising up and hitting your heel hard is not a pleasant experience! kellyr21, I hope you are continuing to recover. Look after yourself. And hoping you and your dh are both staying healthy, nylene. I have really enjoyed seeing all your cards this month. Last year I think I claimed the bonus for ALL the CARDtober challenges. This year I have made exactly three cards. I am still working on cleaning and organizing here. It is not a task I enjoy, so I put it off until it becomes HUGE, so I enjoy it even less. I have three huge piles of paper ready to be stowed away into drawers now, and one ziplock of miscellaneous bits & bobs that needs to be sorted and put away, so the end is in sight. While I was going through the huge piles on my counters, I have been looking for things I want to pack for my crop at the end of next week or possibly play with first. And I found $75 worth of coupons from a LSS in Edmonton that need to go into my car for the next trip to the city. So even though I will soon be messing up my space again, there are some rewards to this effort! As for my health, I am doing okay. Was a little worried just before Thanksgiving that my gut was going to act up again, but I drank lots of water, cut out all fat and fiber for a couple of days, took some Ativan at night to help me relax, and it started functioning properly again. Smelling the turkey roasting, I was RAVENOUS! (Lack of appetite is usually the first sign that things are going south, so feeling hungry is always a good sign!) And I have been feeling well since. Got a call this morning from the GI specialist my local MD referred me to, so I have a consultation with him next week. Not a scope this time, but I am thinking that will be the next step. Coupled with the consultation are eye appointments for both dh and me, election day, and a hair appointment, as well as packing up for our weekend crop starting the 25th, looks like next week will be busy. Happy Thursday, POKEYS!

nylene - glad to hear things are going well with the crown - I'm just having extractions - the teeth are too far gone for crowns at this point. Enjoy the grands! grammadee - glad that your health was okay for Thanksgiving Turkey - hopefully the consult goes well. Sounds like you'll be busy with appts. Those of you who pray, could you keep my mum in your prayers please - she'll be 83 in Nov and she's been having some memory issues (forgetting to pay bills for instance and she's lost her wallet somewhere in the house) so my sister has been going down weekly to help her out (much to her dismay) - she's there today and mum's very confused. Sis took her to the doctor for bloodwork etc... and is staying overnight with her . But we're both very concerned

Hi Peas! Thank soooooo much for your prayers and cheers. Your cheers are helping me cross the finish line. I had a hysterectomy and it went well. Just trying to get through the recovery and each day is a little better. Taking it slow and we have someone here to help me in the day.
I will be popping in when I can but I do try to read our thread. No way I can completely detach! Lol! I don't want to miss the fun.
God bless you all!

kellyr21, continued prayers. My niece just had one several weeks ago. She went back to work (teacher) less than 2 weeks later. I think she was pushing it! Please take care and get your rest. grammadee, I'm so glad your gut held out for you for Thanksgiving. I had you in my prayers last weekend. I'm very glad you have the consult scheduled. I hope that the Dr. can help. And the best way to get over doctor visits, is definitely to enjoy a crop! Linda, I will add your mom to my prayer list. Hugs.

Great to hear from you, kellyr21. Please look after yourself. Glad you are getting some help in the house. Linda, I hope all goes well with your mum. Hoping it was just a bad day or a treatable issue like a uti. If not, I hope she can get the care she needs. Sending virtual (((((hugs))))) and strength. It must be hard to be so far away.

Good Morning Pokey's! TGIF! That's awesome that your DD's took pics for you msliz! They are good kids! linda I will keep your mum in my prayers. It's so hard to watch them get older. My mom seems so frail since she turned 80. I hope they find out her confusion is something they can treat. I'm glad to hear YOU are on the mend! I've been to bed really early every night this past week. I've just been exhausted. I think it's the changing of the seasons. I seem to remember this same thing last year. kellyr21 Big hugs to you and prayers as well. Recovering from a surgery like that is no joke! I hope you are taking it easy! grammadee so glad to hear you are managing that gut and it didn't interfere with Thanksgiving! Which your Thanksgiving sounded wonderful! But snow?!? You have not had a long warm season that's for sure. I totally do the same thing when it comes to cleaning lol. Leave it till it has to be done. There are more fun things to do! I will have to check out the photo thread to see the pics. I bet they are adorable. nylene won't be long and your dental work will be done, and I guess if something like that had to happen, at least it did before all the holidays got started. I've loved seeing your cards. CARDtober always inspires me to make cards. I'm setting aside some time Sunday to give it a try. joblackford gave me some instructions to get started and I'm anxious to try. LisaDV - I can't stand it when I'm having computer problems! I have to keep fussing and fussing with it until I either figure it out and get it fixed. It drives me nuts!! I'm really happy that DH and DS went with you to the haunted house. I DO jump easily and once that see that, they just follow you around and spread the word through the whole place. It took the fun out of haunted houses for me once that had happened a couple of times. I'm glad you all enjoyed it! How can it be time to close the pool??? It seems like you JUST got it open! I don't even know where this summer has gone. I wish the time wouldn't go so fast! I got one layout done on my 3 day scrappy weekend. I hate it when I have mojo and no time and when I have time no mojo. I have one half finished LO on the table and I'm going to make myself push through and finish it. Maybe switching to cards will jump start things. Rudy and I are having our first sleepover since the move on Saturday and we are both super excited! My son just shakes his head at us and said "this sure is hard on you two lol" But we are all adjusting. They came here for dinner last night and it was such a nice evening of eating and coloring together. Saturday will be cut out Halloween cookies, pizza and a movie with no bedtime lol. I hope everyone has a an awesome weekend!!
