Hi, kellyr21. It's so nice to see you dropping by. I hope each day is a little better. I'm glad you have some help this week. Ron is a prince to care for you all last week and then find help. You are in our prayers daily. Take it easy and just rest. Hugs! joyfulnana, I hope you start feeling better soon. I think you will enjoy making cards. I had never really made cards until 10 years ago when my neighbor started our Card Club. Having a member teach a new technique or idea each month for 10 years will get your creative juices going. I loved what joblackford posted. I think that's the perfect way to start. grammadee, I'm glad you were able to get through Thanksgiving without pains. I hope your visit to the GI doctor helps to resolve the problem. How are you enjoying Kandi? She looks like such a fun dog. LisaDV, I wish I could send my DSIL to help with your computer. I hope you have it up and running your program now. How is your husband doing now? Back problems are so miserable. I hope he can alleviate some stress. Linda, my heart aches for your family as your mom becomes forgetful. I am praying that a change of meds could help out. I know how hard it is for the family. Mom was a little younger when her memory began to fade. I'm sending hugs to you because I know how difficult it is. Hugs and prayers for her and for you! I have just finished making a card for today's challenge. I am up to date and really enjoying this Cardtober. My room is a disaster, but I can SHUT THE DOOR. LOL.

I have just finished making a card for today's challenge. I am up to date and really enjoying this Cardtober. My room is a disaster, but I can SHUT THE DOOR. LOL. Gosh, I envy you that door... My space is literally in the middle of the house, in the dining room that is the walkway between all the other rooms of the house (our house has no hallways - it's just connects in a circle!) joyfulnana I hope you have fun with it! Keep it simple and when you've got that down, do what I'm learning from Shimelle and try adding MOAR!

Thank you all who are praying for my mum. I'm hoping to visit her in early Nov (her bday is the 5th) once my mouth has had a chance to heal from the oral surgery this coming Friday. I think we're aiming for me to stay about 9 days and give my sister a break, get some housework done there, and spend some time with my mum - it's been about 2 years since I've been there.
I was supposed to go camping with DD13 this weekend but she stayed home from school yesterday with a GI complaint so no camping for us.

Hoping all goes well with your upcoming trip, Linda. I know your sister will really appreciate the help, and I hope you enjoy your time with your mum. And hoping both you and nylene have no problems with your dental procedures. How is your computer behaving, LisaDV? Glad to hear you got a little scrapping done. Can't wait to see them. Loved seeing the photos of the cardboard box fort in the Photo challenge thread. After we replaced a freezer a couple of years ago, we had a huge box tunnel in the basement for months! I started a two pager yesterday and was able to add the last couple of photos tonight after printing at WM. joyfulnana, I am glad you are getting some Rudy time and that both of you are so excited about it! Loved the photo of him eating his cookie. Is that one that he baked? How is no bedtime going? How is everyone's weekend going? justjac and I took a mixed media class today with the new owners of the LSS. We put together four pages. I changed up the class colours a bit b/c I wanted to use them with specific photos. Need to find those photos and plunk them on tomorrow. It was fun learning how to use Vicki Boutin crayons, and of course I purchased a set after the class. I got the fall colours and hope to use them with some of my outdoor pic's from this last weekend. Thinking I will create the backgrounds with the crayons and stencils, maybe do some stamping, &/or some other techniques. Then I can pack up those backgrounds to take to the crop and finish off the pages there.

Happy Sunday! Missing you peas and wanted to say HELLO! ) I am coming along. Each day is a little better. Just letting myself be spoiled and waited on. We have had some homecare ladies come. At first, I was very nervous about it but they were very helpful and even cleaned parts of my apartment I haven't been able to take care of. Our place hasn't been this clean in like "never!" LOL!
Creatively, I have been doing a little crocheting and drawing over the last few weeks. But mostly, a lot of tv and resting.
I will pop in again soon. Sending you all a big wave hi and a smile.

kellyr21 I'm glad you're on the mend and taking the time you need. I enjoyed the mixed media class I took with grammadee . Of course I bought some of the supplies we tried out, so you might be seeing some more messy layouts from me. Sunday DH and I spent some time trying to get the house organized. The LSS fall crop is next weekend and we will have three house guests! I also did my Sunday LOAD page. I had fun using one of my new stamp sets from Kelly Purkey. Here are a few of my latest pages. I Believe
This is one of the class layouts.

I have been loving all your LOAD pages, justjac, and super impressed that you are already applying what we learned in class on Saturday! Glad to hear you are gradually feeling better, @kellyr and that you are doing some drawing and crocheting. Great way to keep occupied without having to lift anything! Your cards are amazing, nylene. Loving all the techniques and designs you are trying! Hope your dental procedure went well. Good luck, Linda with your dental surgery and with your upcoming trip. You have been crafting like crazy this month. Not surprised to see that you are planning to take November off from scrapping. Hoping other Pokeys will be playing. Will be setting up the sign up in the next couple of days. Went for our eye exams yesterday. Mine was good: no change since last year so no new glasses required. Dh has been asked to come back in a couple of months. They are keeping an eye on a spot on his retina that is slightly larger than it was at the last exam. The specialist's clinic called yesterday and my appointment has been postponed for a couple of weeks. That gives me one extra day to pack for the weekend crop. Did some organizing today. Brought up some totes and tubs. Hope to get it all packed up Wednesday morning. Then I can get it into my vehicle on Thursday and will be ready to roll on Friday. As usual, I will be taking far more stuff than I will be able to use, but I know that I am most productive when I know I have options! Have the October challenges and the September sketches in a ziplock and they will be coming with me. Waving hello to everyone. If you have not already signed up for the Pokey Peas Happy Holiday card exchange, please PM me and I will add you to the list. We have 8 people signed up now.

Continued prayers kellyr21Gorgeous pages justjacThank you grammadee. I'm hoping to do SOME scrapping in November but I can't commit to it so don't want to sign up and possibly not accomplish anything. Glad that your exam went well. Prayers for your DH. Safe travels on your trip.

All packed for the crop. And it is all in my vehicle, except for a shoulder bag that I have sitting on my counter and that I am putting stuff into when I think, "Oh yeah, I could use that..." Tomorrow I have a hair appointment and a regular doctor's appointment and then dh and I are going out to his Seniors' club for supper and card playing. Friday I will leave early enough to stop at Michaels' before the crop. (Crop starts after 4PM Friday and runs until mid afternoon Sunday). Staying at justjac's home for the weekend. TTYL

Prayers and positive thoughts for my DD please - quick recovery and lessened anxiety. Yesterday (Friday) at 4am we woke to a thud and a squeal. She had fallen out of bed. We checked her out, she was groggy and couldn't quite tell us what happened other than she had a dream she was getting up. We didn't know how she went down (what she hit) but her left shoulder area was really sore. I iced it and sat with her. About 5 I moved her to the recliner as she was still having issues getting comfortable. My fear was a hairline fracture of the clavicle. She finally slept from 6am to 11 in the chair. We spent yesterday afternoon at the walk-in clinic. Not a hairline fracture but a break. We call the ortho on Monday and she's in a sling. The sling is helping greatly with the pain. She was already having a rough week sickness wise and her anxiety was up because she didn't get the school work done that she wanted when she wanted, and now this.
Also, I had a longer post on word on Thursday with replies and wishes for everyone. I remember telling DD while she was working on her digital drawing that she could get out of the word document, as I thought I had already copied and pasted it into the thread here. Obviously I hadn't. Sorry.

LisaDV - prayers for your DD - I hope she heals quickly and that her anxierty lessens My oral surgery went smoothly yesterday- no pain today, just achiness and I'm worn out. I'm already tired of pudding/yogurt and liquids. But I have a small mouth and one of the extractions was a front tooth so biting is not an option just yet (never mind chewing). I am glad that we opted for the oral surgeon though - the 4 teeth went much smoother and so far are recovering much easier than my previous extractions (total of 10 in all - 4 wisdom (1 then 3) and 2 single extractions and then these 4) AND the oral surgeon told me that I shouldn't blame myself for my bad teeth as I have so many risk factors for bad teeth between the HG during pregnancy (vomit is acidic), GERD (also acidic), diabetes (sweet saliva), scleroderma (dry mouth), my small mouth which makes it hard for even the dentist/hygenist to reach my back teeth, and genetics (my dad had full dentures when he was 53 - I am 49). There's such a culture around good teeth in this country - poor teeth = uneducated, poor, ignorant, poor hygiene etc... and I've always felt badly and selfconscious about mine.

I'm not the best at keeping up with my teeth. I'll admit to being too tired many nights to even care. My DH is fastidious about it. He has had multiple root canals and generally poorer teeth. I think genetics and other health issues play a larger part than most people realize.

Hey Peas! Just popping in to say hello. Each day has been better. My poor digestive system has been though it with all the meds and limited diet. It is getting better. Now just adjusting my diet to normal and getting more walking in. I had a very few fries tonight and they taste like heaven. Lol! It's been so hot, that has kept me inside most of the day. My walking and movement is getting smoother so I hope to be walking more. Tomorrow is suppose to cool down to the 70's after a week of 90+ temps. Thanks for all your cheers! I hope I can get to more crafts this week. I am getting bored with drawing and crocheting. I think this is a good thing. Waving to you all and hugs!

So sad to hear about your dd’s fracture, LisaDV ! Which side is it on? Hope if it’s not her dominant side she will not have to get too far behind in school. Thanks for checking in with the updates, Linda and kellyr21 . Glad you are both recovering. I laughed when I read it was too hot to go outside, kellyr21 . Here it snowed off and on all day, never got above freezing, and there is a vicious north wind. Having a wonderful crafty weekend. I am back at justjac's house cuz I powered out, but she and her other three friends are still crafting away, making amazing cards and pages. So far I have done 10 fall pages and 12 pages for dd’s road trip album. If I don’t get that album done this weekend, it will definitely be much more within my reach. Hoping everyone is having a good weekend. Did I read somewhere that you had a crop, too, joyfulnana ? LisaDV I hope you get some sleep tonight!

Oh, I feel terrible for your DD, LisaDV. Sending healing vibes to her and to Linda and kellyr21 and to everyone else who needs them these days. Things are good here. Everyone is doing fine. Went to niece's bat Mitzvah yesterday, and 2 of my DDs are throwing a small Halloween party today. They humored me by granting me some photos, and now I'm holed up in my craft room for a few hours while they take over the first floor. I might do some organizing or I might just take a nap. Hugs all around!

Hello, Pokeys. kellyr21, I am glad you are beginning to feel better. I saw on the news yesterday that it was 95 in Los Angeles. We woke up to snow today and it has snowed all day. It isn't sticking much but there will be a blanket by morning I'm sure. Wish you could send me some of that heat! I'm glad you are getting around better. Maybe it's time to make some of your lovely Christmas Cards. I wish I could hand you some paper through the computer. Take it easy and get well. Check in when you can Linda, I'm glad you are doing better too. I understand about bad teeth. We were too poor to see a dentist when I was young. One time I picked up my paper route pay envelope and stopped at a dentist's office and asked how much it cost to have a tooth pulled. I think I was 10. It had become so painful that I couldn't stand it.He told me 50 cents and pulled the tooth for me. Then he handed me back a dime of the coins I had dug out of my paper route envelope and told me to go get myself an ice cream cone. I didn't dare tell my mom what I had done for several weeks. I have lots of crowns now. My new crown for the one I broke 2 weeks ago didn't fit so I have to go back on Wed. and we'll try again. I hope your mouth continues to heal each day. LisaDV, I am so sorry for your DD. Those darn clavicles break so easily if you hit the right angle. I hope she feels better and can catch up on her schoolwork. Hugs to you as you care for her and I hope you will be able to get the rest YOU need. msliz, what fun to be in the scrap room and have photos to scrap! I would love to see their Halloween costumes and decor. justjac and grammadee, what fun you must have together. We all wish we were with you. Be careful traveling. I'm sure you have more snow that we do. We do have your bitter North wind! I have kept up with the Cardtober until this weekend. I have a couple designed and will make them tomorrow. I hate to get behind because some disaster always happens around here. We have medical appts next week and I'm helping with Alex's Halloween party at school. It will be a crazy week. I'm glad we have a couple of days into Nov. to finish. I lost a dear friend this week. We worked together for many years in the church in a BYU Ward. We had also worked together in Primary and just became great friends. It's hard to see those dear friends go. She was one of those people who are so close to perfect, but never intimidating. She loved everyone she ever met. (Sigh) It's weird to think we are now that older generation and are losing our friends.

So sorry about the loss of your friend, nylene. It seems the number of funerals we attend gets more each year. It is extra sad to lose a close friend. Loved your story about the tooth, nylene. We had no dental care when I was growing up either. Add that to poor genetics and I have had dentures for years. They can be annoying, but every time dh has to have another dental procedure, I think I am glad I dealt with all that years ago. What fun to be scrapping Halloween photos, msliz! You trained those gals well! Dd & family were carving pumpkins today and texted me photos, and I am looking forward to be spending Halloween night with dd and their little guy, so hoping to get some more pic's of my own. How is your dd doing, LisaDV? I am home safe and sound. It was snowing on the way home, and icy underneath it on the road, but we probably have less than an inch accumulated here at the farm. All told I managed to finish 31 pages at the crop--the most ever, I think. I took photos while there and have uploaded to my computer. I still need to upload to Flickr and share. I plan to share one batch each day starting in the morning. In a pinch my road trip album is finished, but I reserve the option of adding a few additional pages if time permits (It is for dd's family for Christmas). I was racing to finish the album so it would qualify for a "Finally Finished" challenge at the crop. Have all the travel days done, but there are some moving van photos at each end that probably fit better in that album than in any other.

Hi ladies! Happy Monday? nylene I'm so sorry about your friend. And sorry about your snow too lol. kellyr21 Good to hear you are moving around better! More movement will help work that stiffness and soreness out even though it doesn't feel like it in the moment. Are you anywhere near the fires? Stay safe!! grammadee wow what a productive crop! It's so fun scrapping with other people. Even when it's a virtual crop, there is something about the energy! The monthly crops I've found aren't falling a good weekend for me so far which is a bummer, but maybe after the holidays. justjac I just love your load pages! linda so glad to hear your oral surgery went well, enjoy the time with you mum. LisaDV I'm so sorry to hear about DD! There isn't a lot they can do with the clavicle area I hope she mends soon. I've been out with a cold/flu combo the past week and I'm finally feeling close to 100%. I hate using time off from work to be sick lol. The sleepover was fun. He crashed at 10PM. And the cookies were good and very sugary. He used half a bottle of each color of sugar on about 3 dozen cookies lol. I'll try to get some photos posted in the photo thread. I hope you all have a great week!

nylene, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. Hugs. grammadee, glad you made it home safe, ice is never fun to deal with. joyfulnana, cold/flu stinks. That wipes me out fast. Glad you are feeling better, but remember to get your rest and take your vitamins. DD has an appointment with the orthopedist tomorrow. She's been doing okay. She can definitely tell when it's time for more advil. She did some school yesterday and said typing one handed wasn't as bad as she thought. It's still slow though. She did some digital drawing. Luckily the fracture is the left clavicle and she's right handed. She has a drawing contest that her design has to be in by the 31st and she has been close to done with one design but still in the beginning stages of the second design. I hope to be back tomorrow or Thursday and get that longer responses to everyone typed back up. Until then, I hope everyone has a blessed week with only good things.

joyfulnana , I'm sorry to hear that you have been sick too. I hope you are feeling better. It's awful to use sick leave when you are sick!! Your sleepover with Rudy sounds delightful. I have to laugh when I think of him helping with the sugar for the cookies. Aren't they just the sweetest when they can have fun with grandma. It's worth the kitchen mess to be able to spend time with little ones. They grow up too fast. grammadee , driving icy roads doesn't sound fun. Every winter I wonder why we live where there is ice and snow. I love it from inside the house. It's the going out I hate. I noticed that we didn't get a prompt for a Cardtober #27 yesterday. I'm hoping the hostess is not one of those evacuated for fires and storms. Congrats on getting so many pages finished. I'm amazed! You are so fast! LisaDV , I'm glad your DD is becoming proficient at one hand typing. So glad it's not her dominant side. Don't worry about long responses on this thread. Just drop a note when you can and take care of your family. Linda, I'm thinking about you as you go to visit with your mom. I hope that things go well there. Continued prayers for her and you. kellyr21, take care of yourself. Doing a little walking probably feels good. Hugs. I hope the weather stays a bit cooler for you.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are well today. This is my best day so far. I think I am almost on my feet. It is a nice day outside and I enjoyed it too. Still trying to get up to date here. Looks like you ladies have been busy and that is good. I gotta find my new Flickr password so I can visit the gallery too. We had to move some things around for me and now I need to remember where we put my papers with all my passwords. Geez! I think today I am up to starting my Christmas card kit I bought last month from HSN. I love it for now cause I don't have to figure anything out but just play. nylene thanks for mentioning Christmas cards to cure my boredom. I almost forgot I bought that kit for my recovery time. Then, when I feel better I will start my annual cards that I sell. In December, my dh's job is having their annual Christmas party. I have been thinking about it for months with excitement. Last year I couldn't go and this year I plan to make it. I have been looking for a nice dress and can't wait to find one. Man, once I have recovered I am going be so happy to be able to participate in fun events and just life more! nylene- Sending you a hug for your loss. Remember the happy times while you grieve. I hope you and your hubby are doing well these days. grammadee- I wish I could send you and nylene some of our warm weather. Today is in the 70's and sunny. I can't believe it is snow already. What a great time you had with justjac and that crop. You got a lot done too. Wow! How is your puppy? linda- Hope today is a better day for you. Hang in there! I lost a tooth some years ago to popcorn!!!! LOL! I was on a popcorn kick and one day one of those hard kernels cracked my tooth that already had some problems. So my popcorn frenzy came to an end. Now I need to have that tooth replaced. SMH! LisaDV- Oh your sweet dd! I am wishing her a speedy recovery. She is so resilient and brave and so are you. joyfulnana- Good to see you are feeling better too. Thankfully, I don't live near the fires. I hope they can end those fires soon. They have them it seems every year out in the mountainous areas. I guess the heat and the high winds equal fires. Good seeing ya! Has anyone heard from woodysbetty ? I hope her new life in Florida is going well. Waving hi to @elaynef msliz justjac and you other sweet peas!!!!

Good to hear from you again, kellyr21. Would love some of your warm weather, but we are coping with the early winter weather. We all have appropriate clothing and boots and equipment. (Just need to FIND it when a season starts!) Kandi is LOVING the snow. She runs and then suddenly grabs up a mouthful, or tosses a lump in the air. It is fun to watch her. Dh had been "walking" her with the quad, so when I go out to walk her this week there are packed down tracks to walk on so it's not bad. I would love to hear from woodysbetty and @elaynef, too. Hoping all is well with both of them. How did dd's appointment go, LisaDV? Hoping that bone is knitting properly! joyfulnana, I hope you continue to feel better. Don't get a relapse! I have my scrap crap out of my vehicle and in the house, but not all put away yet. Managed to create a card and two pages today, but that will be it for the month. Tomorrow I get my flu shot. On Thursday I am driving to dd's to see the Halloween parade at dgs's school. I will hand out candy while they are trick or treating and then stay the night. Then on Friday I am off to Airdrie/Calgary for the weekend to spend a little time with my two sons' families there. Lots of arena time I hear. Hoping to get lots of Christmas gift ideas from the dgk's, and maybe do a little shopping on my way home Monday. Have uploaded about 2/3 of my crop production to the Gallery. Need to finish up with that tomorrow. great pages grammadee - I especially like that last one, it makes me think of a pumpkin - very fall themed and beautiful. kellyr21 - glad that you're on the mend nylene - thank you for the prayers LisaDV - hope your DD is feeling better - continued prayers for her healing joyfulnana - glad that you're feeling better My mouth is healing albeit not as quickly as I would like (but probably as quickly as can be expected). Poor DH had teeth pulled at the dentist this morning and had to go back this afternoon to be re-checked because the bleeding wasn't stopping. This has been a rough dental month round here. My sister took mum to her doctor today - she did worse on the mini cognitive eval this time than in May She's been referred to a neurologist (in Jan) and for an MRI (mum hasn't yet agreed to that) and given a prescription for Aricept. It doesn't sound like mum believes there are any problems and she's pretty angry with my sister for suggesting otherwise. I leave early Saturday to go help out and give my sister a break - I'll return a week Sunday. Apparently mum is still driving despite losing her physical license and despite being told to stop driving by both my sister and her doctor. Apparently the license expires next week and everyone is hoping it won't be renewed and she'll stop driving. I have my doubts. My sister blocks her car in when she visits and insists on driving - I don't drive so my options on preventing it are much more limited and apparently mum still goes out once or twice a day to buy her newspaper (I'm planning on giving her a delivery subscription for her birthday) and run errands.

I'm glad DD's break was on her nondominant side LisaDV. Every little thing helps in a situation like that. That's great that she is still able to draw. I hate one handed typing, but it can be done if I have too lol. kellyr21 glad you are continuing to feel better! And that you aren't near the fires. It seems like the whole state is on fire right now. Can't wait to see the cards you make from the kit! linda that's so sad about your mum. I hope you have a good visit with her and that she will be willing to stop driving. My mom finally gave it up a year or two ago after many small fender benders. I'm pretty sure she doesn't miss it. grammadee love your pages! It's cold here too and we had our first dusting of snow Monday night. There's more coming down now, it will probably only be an inch, but it's so early. We didn't even get a few hard frosts first. I remember it always being cold on Halloween when I was a trick or treater, having to wear coats over the costumes. Or maybe I am just getting old and everything becomes "back when I was young" lol. So no scrappy mojo in this house this month. I'm hoping for a better November. I still have to finish that dang stocking though! lol.

I would love to hear from woodysbetty and elaynef, too. Hoping all is well with both of them just a brief update from me so you all don't worry. I have continued to have health issues since the upper respiratory infection I had in September. I've seen a couple of drs and was referred to a lung specialist...don't have an appointment yet. I'm very Short of breath on exertion and can't figure out why. It's very annoying...I have been very healthy and am not used to being sick and not knowing why. I have been scrapping a little as I can and trying do as much of my usual activities as I can but not much "mojo" to do anything. I am reading 2peas and keeping up with you all and wishing the best for you all.
DD #3 is a photographer and I thought you all would like to see her latest project. These are her 4 boys. She did a very limited number of these for clients. Its a very time consuming edit as you can imagine!
