Dear adults,
This is some serious high-school-era bullshit. I'm out.
Signed, No, A didn't tell me what B said C said D said E said I told her, but thanks for accusing.

I had a rough 2018 where I couldn't wait for it to be over, but it was mild in comparison to yours. My very petty vent....we have to see family this week. I don't get along well with my mother who's been especially trying lately. I've also found out a lot of crap she's talked about me. Unfortunately it's all a no win situation. I am soooo not looking forward to having to see her this week. My (adult) dd has suggested a purse full of nips. It's sad how much i'm considering it

lbp -- It *HAS* been a trying year for you!
I've had a similar year. Our family, since 1989, has a sad trend of losing a member in years ending in 9.
In June, I watched my sister watch her 21 year old daughter die. It was excruciating.
Before that, in February, DBF got arrested for meth, then tried to kill himself.
Then in March, DBF was hospitalized 3 times for weird shit. And then I got to dress his ass abscesses for weeks at home. Then a couple of weeks ago, he attempted suicide again.
In between, I had 2 cavities filled, was diagnosed with HPV.
In June, DD had her gender affirmation surgery, after which they didn't control her pain, so I got to watch her cry for days. At least that one ended happily!
Then in August, I had another skin cancer diagnosis and removal (luckily this time, it was on my shoulder.) Also in August, mom had an ER visit where they found 'a mass' on her colon. Found out last week it was just poop, but until then, we were worried.
And all the while, this is the 5th year, DS has texted and called me during his bipolar depression lows, telling me how worthless and lost he feels. Out of all the stuff, this is the hardest for me.
Plus, I'm building a house, which is happy, but stressful.

Ugh WHY is everything SO difficult now days?? I went to the bank to pay a bill. I had cash. They wanted ID. To give them money to pay a bill I had to show ID. WTF.
Edited to add: Also, why can't I find dress pants to fit my fat ass?

I DO! omg omg omg How's that old saying go... "fool me once, shame on thee; fool me twice, shame on me"...? Well, I KNOW that my grocery store often has not-so-good quality meat. Yet last week I bought a pork roast, once of those that's sealed in the thick plastic wrapping (vacuum sealed, I think). The "sell-by" date is OCTOBER 21!! Today is October 1st. That's 20 days away from when it could be safely sold by. And even then we know that meat can be kept in the fridge for a couple of days after the sell-by date (sometimes it has a "use by or freeze" date). Anyway, you can see where this is going.. I sliced it opened a hour or so ago to stick it in my pressure cooker, AND IT'S BAD!!!! Growl. Fortunately we have a bumper crock of tomatoes all of a sudden so when I called dh at work to tell him no pork roast for this evening he just said "I'll just fix a tomato/feta salad, with a ham sandwich or something" (he's a good guy). grrrr I'm taking it back of course, in a few minutes. I was waiting until after school hours because I also need to stop at the library to pick up a book that just got off my hold list, and the library shares a parking lot with two schools. So there is never ever a parking space during the day when school is in session. (and that could be another vent...) So I'll swing by the grocery store, then the library. And this has happened before! (hence the "fool me twice" quote above). That's it, from now on I'm buying my meat only from Costco!

I bought an office chair and I can't assemble it because the screw holes for the seat and back don't line up. Now I have try to put it all back in the box and return it to Staples. I think I'll pay the $15 to have them assemble it. My time is worth more.
And the weekend get away was a bust and waste of time. If I could go back 3 days, I would have stayed home.
And I have had this sciatica pain for 6 weeks now. Neither drugs or exercise is helping and it is just as painful as ever. Go away!

I mean, if someone who isn't me wants to pay my bills, well have at it! Why should we need to prove who we are if we're PAYING something. Obviously if we're taking money out we need to have proof that it's our account.... but the other way around?

Why do people talk so loudly in waiting rooms? I was at my dr's office earlier today and was treated to all the gory details of a couple's son's divorce. Somewhere out there are a man and woman who are blissfully unaware that his parents are telling half the town allll of their financial and custodial details, including their names and the names of their children.

Stores. The ads are planned months and months in advance. Order extra stock for sale week to meet the "it's a good deal" demand. I don't want to go on a multiple store locations hunt to get the sale items.
Also, I don't like the "have to buy five+ to get the sale price" policy.

I’m just guessing, but I’ll bet someone is paid a bill in cash and later claim to get put in the wrong account. So now they make you provide ID to be certain it’s your account they’re putting it in. It’s all I can think of.

Dear Manager,
We have been told to push our cases by next Friday. Each of these files must be initial reviewed by you, then by the beneficiary, then by you again. It would be ever so helpful if you would just initial review the freaking files in your office. That way I won't plot ways to harm you next week when we're all super stressed.
Love,
Your (changing teams) paralegal
I mean really! I put about half of these files in her office 2 weeks ago so she could start reviewing before it got crazy. We knew this was probably coming - but every time I walk into her office, she's usually checking her email. Which she also gets way behind on.

i have been stressed and distracted lately. hard to motivate myself to get *anything* done. today, determined to get a couple of things crossed off list.
dropped by my friend's bakery to give my her stuff i grabbed for her on sale at grocery store last week, pick up cheese she got for me on sale and return her keys i have had all summer while she was in the states. left and realized her keys were still on my key ring.
went to walmart to get shower curtain liner because my shower leaking into my kitchen in my new rental house. got home and realized i forgot to return pants i bought for DS that he didn't like/fit properly.
crossed off two errands on my list - and still have two errands on my list.
STBX late getting house ready for sale... he keeps filling up dining room with more crap for me to get "out of the house". i keep taking it into my new place, sorting, organizing, donating, purging.... finally make some headway so new place doesn't look like a hoarder home.... another load yesterday in my living room waiting to be addressed. ugh!!!
on the other hand, feel good that have probably saved literally an entire dumpster from going to the landfill. found some treasures i haven't seen in years too.
just went for 3rd interview for a job. when first spoke to team leader, she asked which location (downtown or north) and told her downtown preferable as i live downtown but if north location was flexible for mix of work from home/office i would consider. end of the interview, she lets me know it full time (40 hrs/wk) at north location. argh!!!! really?!?!
however, seeing what other peas dealing with.... ((((hugs)))) to you all. sometimes you just need perspective and you have given me that. wishing you some peace.

We are estimating she still has years of life ahead of her that we get her watch her continual downward spiral. We are moving her out of her house this month into a smaller house next door to my sister. She refuses a facility, so we are doing the best we can.

I've been having a rough time with my autoimmune disease. Lots of ongoing fatigue, pain, and disease specific symptoms. And then more frequent flares on top of it. My lab tests are so-so. Autoimmune markers are down but systemic inflammation level is still very high. I've gotten all the benefits I will get from my current treatment plan (Plaquenil, anti-inflammatory diet, and pain relief medication). And it's not enough to have a good quality of life any longer.
So my doctor wants to start me on Methotrexate, but I have to be cleared by my gynecologist first,as I've had low grade positive pap smears in recent years and Methotrexate can exacerbate cervical dysplasia. I have a complicated medical history, so even office procedures are a cause for concern, so my gynecologist has been taking a wait and see approach with the cervix issue, hoping it resolves by itself in time. Just having an autoimmune disease makes it hard for the body to clear low grade cervical dysplasia, so I'm pretty sure my pap smear will still show CIN 1 and I'll need to finally have it treated.
Normally I get my well woman exam at the beginning of December, but they were able to move me up to late October, so I only have a few more weeks to wait for the pap smear. But if it's still positive, I'll need a colposcopy, then either cryotherapy or a leep procedure before I can start the Methotrexate, and that'll mean more of a delay in treatment.
I was hoping to get some relief soon, but it might be closer to the end of the year before I really start feeling better.

My husband has Eosinophilic fasciitis and it took a long time to find what worked for him, and it ended up being Methotrexate. He was weaned off it after a year, I think and he's been managing pretty well since. I hope you get relief soon!
