In 2 separate parking lots today, I saw a cart in the corral with a gallon of milk sitting on the bottom of the cart shelf. Rainy day here today, so I think people were in a rush to unload and get in the car, but don't forget the milk!

The huge box of diapers that I bought at Costco 16 years ago and left in the bottom of my cart still stings.

That 12 pack of Coke that didn't get rung up about 8 years ago still bothers me.

The huge box of diapers that I bought at Costco 16 years ago and left in the bottom of my cart still stings. Not as expensive, but I did that with a 12-pack of soda once. I never put anything on the bottom shelf, and hate it when the baggers do, because I’m afraid of forgetting it like I did that one time years ago.

Often I would forget to grab the small wedge of Maytag Blue Cheese out of my cart because it was a shiny gray like the cart, usually the person bagging my groceries would have to point it out to me. Would happily have that happen time after time instead of the one time I forgot to take it out of my reusable bags...poor bagger who found that wedge a week later...

Also, check your car for the milk. You would hate to discover it 28 hours later on a hot july day. (Lactaid milk is about 6 bucks for 3 quarts, so not a cheap mistake.)

My husband left a twelve pack of Amber Bock under the cart one time. Came home and realized it was not in the car. We drove back to the store and to our great surprise we found it still under the cart! I still tease him about it and it's been probably 10 years

My husband helped unload groceries and put away. He then took trash out after dinner. I asked what happened to the makeup I bought while we were at the store. He was clueless and refused to go outside and look through the trash. 🤣
Make sure your bags are empty!

Definitely check your bags! We could smell something vile coming from our pantry and thought they were potatoes gone off. Nope! A pack of beef mince that had been left in a green bag for a few days. Corinne

By the way, at least at my grocery store, they will always give you that missing item if you forget either in the cart or just in the store. I worked our customer service desk at King Soopers (Krogers) and policy is to replace those items without questioning. Now if you are suspicious that someone is abusing the system, that is grounds for saying 'no, sorry not anymore'.
I believe most people were pretty honest about it. The dishonest people were the coupon people with their illegal coupons, or whatever scam they were trying to pull off. Ring up all the items, give cashier the coupons, go back to service desk and say your coupons didn't get rung up.. and so forth. Or the person who would bring up diapers and formula for a refund with no receipt. That is always a good one. SORRY dude, we don't even have that brand of diapers while he is arguing with you that he just bought them.

This happened to my mom years ago one hot summer. The milk rolled out of the bag in the trunk and ended up behind a box, where it was forgotten...until it essentially exploded. Do you know how long it takes to get sour milk cleaned up and the smell out of the entire car?

It fell out of the bag and rolled into a hidden space behind the back seat and wasn’t discovered until a couple weeks later! So gross!
