I follow some beachbody coaches on facebook and they post their weekly food calendar, claiming to cook their family a different dinner every night. I visited my father this weekend and his wife (who doesn't work) cooked some lentils, baked salmon, oven roasted zucchini and rice and we ate the same dinner for 4 nights. When I left the containers had enough food I'm sure to last them another 3 dinners. I was wondering how many nights are week are the peas eating the same thing?

When I cook dinner I make enough extra for my lunch the next day. Generally just an extra serving of protein that I eat with leftover salad.
I would not want to eat the same leftovers for multiple days. I don't even like to keep them after two days.

Usually only once for dinner, if at all. I will frequently eat the same meal's leftovers two or three days in a row for lunch.
When I see meal plans for diets with a different prepared/cooked meal for each lunch and dinner, I just turn the page. Ain't nobody got time for that!

It all just really depends on how much I made and who all was home to eat supper. So sometimes we have leftover to eat for another meal and sometimes we don't. I don't necessarily plan to have leftovers.

About twice a week but it is not the exact same meal. For example Sunday we have steak, potatoes, and grilled veggies, Monday will be fajitas with the leftover. We have a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings and make a shepards pie with the leftovers. Chicken stirfry on rice, then chicken quesadillas next night.

We might have leftovers once a week or once every two weeks. I try to cook enough dinner each night for leftovers for lunch the next day for DH and our two older girls who are in school. I cook dinner every night.

Since I cook for myself only I have to be awfully careful to NOT prepare too much. I try to stick to two servings. One for now and one for the freezer. Not always as easy as it sounds. But I am doing better at cooking only half a recipe of most things. I mark clearly what I put in the freezer then rotate those small meals so it does not pile up. Once in a while I will have a "freezer meal" of my own making perhaps three times in a row. This works for me.

We never eat leftovers for dinner. I am pretty good at making just enough for us to eat or in the case of DH's favorites, I will make enough for him to have a lunch the next day.

It all just really depends on how much I made and who all was home to eat supper. So sometimes we have leftover to eat for another meal and sometimes we don't. I don't necessarily plan to have leftovers. This is pretty much me. Some nites my kids will plow thru dinner and although I planned on having leftovers, I don't. Other weeks I will throw out more than a half pound of pasta because no one ate the leftovers. While I like leftovers, especially for lunch, I do not like to eat the same thing 2 days in a row. I will wait and have it a day or 2 later. I will say that I keep them a little longer than 2 days. I will not say exactly how long, but definitely longer than that.

I cook 6 nights a week. One night is either "fend for yourself" or twice/month we eat out. I cook a different meal every night, simple meals, just enough for dinner and lunch leftovers the following day for DH's lunch. Typically, the smell of reheated food nauseates me. I'm not sure why. Soup is a bit different. I don't mind the taste of reheated vegetable soup or chili. Cream based soups I don't reheat for myself. DH and DD love them. I sound really picky and complicated, but I'm not.

I will eat leftovers for lunch at work anytime there is any. But at home I try to put one day between the first time we eat it and the second time.
But often I make just enough or so close that it is not worth saving the little bit leftover.
So maybe once or twice a week there will be something leftover to use for a meal along with something fresh.
Things like soup or stew of which there will be lots of leftover (I don't know how to do small with these) I freeze the leftovers in two person servings. Comes in handy for nights I don't really want to cook.

I cook dinner pretty much every night and cook enough to have leftovers for DH and me to eat for lunch.
It's very rare that we eat leftovers for dinner.

It depends. I go on food jags where only certain things taste good to me so I may eat them every meal for a week. But I tend to eat things 2-3 times them move on to something different. Leftovers after the three meal go to the freezer for meals later in the month.

I'm not a huge fan of most of the dinners I cook as leftovers, so I do my best to cook as close to two servings as possible. I can usually count on my husband to take some for lunch the next day, but not always. There are a handful of things I will eat leftover so I make those purposely if I'm having a busy week and can't cook one night.
When I was a kid we had leftover night every Saturday and I even hated it then.

I used to work with an odd little bird. She would cook ONE meal on Sunday and eat on itall week long. For lunch AND dinner. Come Wednesday the smell of her reheated meatloaf was enough to push me over the edge. She also would speed read her Harlequins over and over never ever breaking the spine. And she chewed on her hair.
Odd little bird.

Last Tuesday, we had Pork Chops & Rice; the next day we ate out due to a dentist appointment and he (not me)didn't won't to cook. The next day was leftover chili (from the weekend) with dogs and veggie wraps (not leftovers). He wanted Steak and Potatoes the next day and I had another veggie wrap (made from a veggie trap bought at Sam's). Had sandwiches over the weekend because we had been out to breakfast with the neighbors and really wasn't hungry. Had tacos the next day (no leftovers). Then finished up today (Tuesday) with the leftover Pork Chops & Rice. Yes, we eat leftovers (there are only 2 of us and 1 dog). Tomorrow, it's meatloaf and veggies and probably corn bread. We eat a light breakfast, Eat lunch mid-afternoon and no dinner/supper. Works for us!

We rarely have leftovers. I don't cook more than dh and I will eat for a meal unless it is a pot of chili or some kind of soup and those leftovers get frozen for a future meal. Dh is not a fan of most leftovers.

We never have leftovers either. Sometimes. I will have enough for my or dh's lunch the next day but that's it. DH will eat chili or something like that right out of the container.

Leftovers usually become lunch the next day, if there are any.
Occasionally we'll have the same thing twice in a row, but that doesn't happen very often.

I live alone and when I cook for myself I try to make 2-3 servings so I have some leftovers for lunch or dinner. If I have company for dinner I send all but one serving of leftovers home with them. Tonight I'm making a family sized batch of beef and broccoli but I plan to put a couple 1 serving containers of it in the freezer for a later date.

We eat leftovers for lunch depending on what we had, usually just the protein portion. I rarely ever serve leftovers for dinner.

all..the..time. most of the time we will have the original dinner the 1st night and then leftovers the next night. it's rare to do a third night but we have done so in the past. I don't do different meals every night because I don't keep a ton of ingredients in the fridge or pantry. we usually eat home cooked meals Sunday through Wednesday and then eat out Thursday or Friday through Saturday lunch.

Once a week or so for dinner, I pull out all the bits and pieces that are left and call them smorgasbord night. Usually when everyone is going in different directions. You can pick and choose, make a sandwich out of it, or whatever you please.
Most leftovers get eaten by me as lunches. I love an easy hot lunch.
I usually make a double meal or two during the week, but I freeze one meal of it. Usually soup or chili or stew or sauce. I don't count that as leftovers.

It really depends on what it is.
If it's something like chili I'll make a huge batch and we'll have chili the first night, then chili cheese dogs, then chili cheese nachos, then chili cheese potatoes all week.
Other times I'll only make enough for lunch the next day.
Other times (like when we have tacos) there's no leftovers at all.

I cook just for myself so it's hard not to have leftovers... For things like chilli or soup, it's not a big deal because it freezes and reheats well... For things like fish, I only make enough for one meal, unless I know I like it chilled in a salad the next day... For chicken, I'll cook a half dozen breasts at once, but I put different spices on them so they're not all the same... That way I can use some the next day in a salad, or slice and grill with some veg the next night, etc... Basically simple enough flavourings so that I can add the leftover chicken into new meals...

Most of the time, we cook Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Thursday is leftover night. Friday varies from week to week. It depends on if we still have a lot of leftovers and what we are doing that night. Some nights, leftovers are perfect. Other times, we cook. Most of the time, we cook on Saturday night or we get together with friends where everyone brings a dish. We rarely eat out for dinner. I am trying to get DH to start eating out a little more often. It doesn't have to be every week but I would like for us to go out to eat maybe once a month. Usually eating out is me meeting friends for lunch. Now, occasionally, I make a big batch of something and I might freeze leftovers for later like gumbo. So, we might eat it 2 or 3 nights (not necessarily in a row) and I freeze the rest for another time.
