I've been sick for over a week and I'm finally on the mend. Flu-like symptoms for most of it but my immune system was (still is, probably) shot and I cought a cold while getting over my initial symptoms. My sore throat is starting to disappear but I'm still coughing up phlegm (TMI: it's clear, thankfully).
I have bullet train tickets to go to Disneyland Paris tomorrow. I can't change them. Buying another set during the very short Halloween season at Disneyland Paris would be quite expensive and I'll have less opportunities to take a day off later in the month anyway. Plus, it'd have to work for my SO as well making things extra complicated to reschedule.
Do I skip the Halloween season or attempt the visit anyway? Bear in mind that tomorrow is predicted to be a completely rainy day at DLP, that barely anything in the park is open to sit down and stay shielded in a warm room before 11h30 (ah, Disneyland Paris, such a sophisticated park), that I'm still coughing and have about 3h30 of sitting on the bullet train to get there since I live completely down south (and then back again at the end of the day). Météo France are predicting rain all day with morning temperatures around 13°C/55°F and between 14°C/57°F and 19°/66°F in the afternoon.
I'll likely make up my mind at the last minute depending on how I feel when I get up tomorrow at 3h30 AM to get ready (got to be at the train station at 5h30) but what would the Peas do?

You may be feeling much better by the morning . I tend to push on for something like this, otherwise I can’t stop thinking about it and wishing I’d gone!

For me, unless I was really super-sick, I would go.
Get plenty of rest today and perhaps you’ll feel tons better when you get up in the morning.

I wouldn't be able to enjoy a Disney trip in the rain while being sick. I think I'd be miserable under those circumstances.

I’d go. It’s already paid and scheduled. Worst case you don’t do as much as planned. Sleep on the train, bundle up with layers. Take an extra long lunch or early dinner in a dry restaurant. You’ll constantly “what if” otherwise and be out the cost of the train.

If you're feeling well enough to go, then go. Sounds like what you have isn't any worse than a basic cold so I wouldn't worry about being contagious (just mind your manners, cover your cough, wash your hands, don't be a complete jerk) and enjoy it. But if you're miserable and spend the whole day wishing you'd stayed on the couch with a mug of soup than skip it. FWIW I'd have to be deathbed sick before missing a planned Disney trip though.

if you feel well enough to sit on the train and slowly walk around the park, then maybe you could still go.

Thta is a tough one - Disney and Halloween. I would honestly push through unless I couldn't stand or was losing my cookies . Only you know what you can handle or how you feel but 24 hours could be enough for your body to turn the corner to feeling better and your mindset might help too:). I hope it works out for you. I am super envious!

Since you can’t reschedule the train tickets, I’d go tomorrow unless I was running a fever.
I hope that you get a good night’s sleep and feel much better in the morning. Try to sleep on the train. Drink lots of fluids. Eat a lot of Disney snack food for me!

I would take some DayQuil or whatever your choice of symptom reliever is and some Mucinex to deal with the phlegm. Dress for the weather and go anyway. Unless I had a fever, then I would stay home because fevers knock me out and all I want to do is sleep. I live with chronic pain every day and made up my mind a few years ago to just continue living my life and ignoring it. I mean, I can be in pain at home or in pain at a beautiful location, so I would be going anyway. Take a thermos of hot tea with you to drink on the train if you can. By the time you arrive, the tea and the meds should have you in good enough shape to appreciate Disneyland. And don’t forget to fill your pocket with tissue packs!

Dose up and go. You can sleep on the train both ways.

I would take some DayQuil or whatever your choice of symptom reliever is and some Mucinex to deal with the phlegm. No idea what this stuff is or what the most likely equivalents in France would be but I'm just going to soldier through without medication like I have so far... Thank you for the recommendations, however! Much appreciated. It's almost 9PM here and I'm going to head to bed soon. Many thanks for all the advice and being such temptresses, ladies! I've actually taken the time to prep a little backpack in case I wake up feeling well enough tomorrow. Rain ponchos: check. Umbrella: check. Extra pair of socks in case mine get wet: check. Breakfast for on the train: check. Water bottle: check. Six packs of tissues: check. Annual passes: check. Power bank: check. Train tickets printed out in case there's an issue with the app on our phones: check. If we go, it's going to be the slow and steady route: no high pressure rides for me since I'm still not breathing correctly, no BTM in the cold and rain, no rushing to places, just mellow strolling and classic rides like Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small (smaaaall) World, etc. I'm going to be such a sloth if I make it! PS: If any of you ever visit Disneyland Paris on a rainy/snowy/super windy day, don't hesitate to use the not-so-well-known covered walkway that takes you through most of the lands.

My weather app shows it being cloudy with occasional rain. But they were totally wrong for today—it was supposed to be a pretty day, but it misted all morning and the wind blew all afternoon. Good luck and I hope that you feel better. I’d toss in a few ibuprofen to help out.

We are going to WDW over Thanksgiving and it will be the first time we will have seen it all decorated for the holidays.

French pharmacies are top notch, I bet the local pharmacist could recommend some cold relief medications that would help you have an enjoyable day at DLP! Hope you feel well enough to go and have a great trip.

I've been to Disneyland (CA) sick once, on a perfect fall day. By the end of the day The Happiest Place On Earth was this f*cking fun park. Sending good thoughts you are feeling SO much better in the morning.

i'd go. went with DD in may on a lovely day... barely any lineups. i bet on a rainy day, there would be even less.
i would have waterproof footwear, a hooded rainjacket, a tiny collapsable umbrella, tons of tissue and a thermos with a hot beverage in it (hoping against hope they would let me take it in).
don't recall if they have in/out privileges there but if they did and it got really rainy, i would go to the hotel next door and wander around for a bit til the worst passed. or i think their tiny version of disney springs shopping area that is very close too if i recall.

DD and I went to Disneyworld in the spring while we were both getting over the flu. We couldn’t cancel, as it was for a team event. We only spent from 10 am to 6 pm at the parks before we decided to call it quits. It was fine. Tough we both relapsed upon our return. That was worse, as the doctor said we only get tamiflu once per season.

If there is a chance you could be contagious, please don't go. No one else wants your germs, especially people with compromised immune systems.

If there is a chance you could be contagious, please don't go. No one else wants your germs, especially people with compromised immune systems. No longer contagious besides the obvious possibility of transmitting germs when coughing. I came prepared with masks to wear, an oversized scarf and loads of tissues as well as antibacterial wipes for my hands (to preserve others from the germs I'd cough up). I ended up feeling really good for most of the day and only had an occasional tiny cough here and there. Probably the least sick of the sick DLP folks and boy, there were many! So many kids making proper bronchitis sounds when coughing, yikes. went with DD in may on a lovely day... barely any lineups. May has two weeks when the Disneyland Paris park is quite empty (no school holidays in any European country, ha). It's *the* moment to go. I always go during those weeks. It's even better when the sun comes out. I love Disney with 5min queues for Big Thunder Mountain... Glad you got to enjoy a stay during this desert park period of the year! don't recall if they have in/out privileges there but if they did and it got really rainy, i would go to the hotel next door and wander around for a bit til the worst passed. I have an annual pass so no issue with coming and going but I believe all tickets, including the 1 park Mini ticket, are in/out nowadays provided you don't lose it once you leave the park, obviously. I’d love to see any of the Disneys decorated for Halloween. We are going to WDW over Thanksgiving and it will be the first time we will have seen it all decorated for the holidays. You're going to love it! My favourite Disney park seasons are Halloween and Christmas. So festive. I'm happy to post the few photos I did manage to snap (in between the outpours) tomorrow if you want to take a peek at what our little Parisian Disney park looks like for Halloween. Dole Whip in Paris Disneyland? Ah, no. Dole is not a big brand in Europe so they don't have a deal with Disneyland Paris. It's the (very generic) Pineapple whip here. And only available during the summer season from a small cart at the Adventureland entrance that is Agrabah-themed. You've got to be in the know if you want to find it. My weather app shows it being cloudy with occasional rain. But they were totally wrong for today—it was supposed to be a pretty day, but it misted all morning and the wind blew all afternoon. 'Twas a rainy day all the way through. We enjoyed about twenty-ish minutes of no rain and that was it. The Halloween parade had to be modified last minute (literally heard the cast member being told the route was being changed as we were lined up to watch it pass by), no stop show in front of the castle, no Tuesday guest for the daily Disney Stars on Parade either. Too much water, too many slippery things to slip on. It was all rain ponchos, wet shoes, umbrellas and desperately seeking out open cafés to find the comforting Malificent blueberry hot cocoa to warm up. So, obviously, quietgirl , I went and I had a wonderful time. I felt almost completely back to normal when I got up very early this morning which is the final push I needed to go spend a day at rainy Disney. I had a great time, did a lot of very chill rides, saw some shows, got a bit wet too (alas), got coughed on (bleh), let my SO go enjoy a couple of wilder rides while I did Phantom Manor several times in a row (no shame, no regrets) and then finally got back home around 10PM. I'm in desperate need of some sleep now, however.
