...rights. "The three cases are among the most significant on the high court's 2019 docket, and the justices' rulings are likely to come in the heat of the 2020 presidential campaign. The challenges pick up where the same-sex marriage battle left off in 2015, when the court ruled 5-4 that states cannot ban gay men or lesbians from getting married. "This is a more fundamental freedom than what was at stake in Obergefell," the same-sex marriage case won by James Obergefell and other LGBT plaintiffs, says Ria Tabacco Mar of the American Civil Liberties Union. The challenge may be more difficult, however, for two reasons. The author of the high court's four major opinions expanding gay rights, Anthony Kennedy, retired last year and was succeeded by conservative Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. And rather than claiming a constitutional right, the challengers must convince at least five justices that the word "sex" in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 incorporates sexual orientation and gender identity." www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/07/gay-rights-employment-discrimination-battle-heads-supreme-court/3822694002/Your right to work, your right to work as you identify. Because, of course, the religious right believes they have the right to deprive you of a job based on your sexual orientation or gender identity. 'Murika!

I don’t understand why they would entertain hearing cases on this. It has been settled. It is already a law.

How hard would it be to just state "We are all humans, we should all have the same rights and protections"?
This decision can and will affect me & my family personally. I just can't believe that at this point in time, treating everyone fairly is still being questioned and debated. How terrible of a human being do you have to be to decide that LGBTQ+ people should not be afforded the same protections as heterosexual cis gender people?

I don't have anyone in my immediate family that is LGBTQ+ but I heartily agree! Same goes for all marginalized people, no matter the reason. I've been an active ally in my local LGBTQ community for over a decade and the stories i hear are heartbreaking. I'm not feeling optimistic about the decisions that will come down from this Supreme Court. Remember when judges were supposed to be impartial and not rule on political grounds/personal beliefs?

It makes me beyond angry that Kavanaugh has any say in this at all. Or Gorsuch, but especially Kavanaugh.

so being LGBTQ+ is "wrong", but being a rapist is okay? Got it. Fuck Kavanaugh. Fuck Trump. Fuck the republicans. I am done trying to be understanding, or tolerant, or nice, when it comes to these motherfuckers.

Or, at least, THEIR INTERPRETATION of their "holy" books.
