The park was right by William and Mary - I could see the heads when I got off of one particular road. I still regret not going in person to see them!

His studio is in the warehouse district in Houston. He is an amazing sculptor. The giant Sam Houston on I45 near Huntsville is his work, too.

Andrew Jackson would not be my first choice for doing the restoration.

So interesting but what a shame to see them crumbling away. I can only imagine the artist must be horrified if he knows his beautiful work is now in this condition.

I saw a news report about this a few years back. I'm so bummed that I didn't know it was there. I have been to that area many, many times over the last 20+ years! What is really sad is that the guy won't allow people to visit.

What is really sad is that the guy won't allow people to visit. He does. Not every day and it's not open to the public. There's now a Presidents Head Walking tour. I think it's most weekends now on Saturdays and there's a cost. You have to sign up in advance too. Presidents Head Walking Tour

The park was right by William and Mary - I could see the heads when I got off of one particular road. I still regret not going in person to see them! I moved away from that area (the greater Hampton Roads area) in 1992. I now have two of my boys living there, but the first one didn't move there until 2012. I completely missed the window for that park being open. I would love to see these and may have to plan to do that on the next visit up there!

Very cool. While Andrew Jackson might not been my first to restore, maybe his was in the worst shape? Anyways, that is very cool. I never seen this before.

My nephew was super interested in Presidents when he was little, so we took him and his family there once when they visited us, about 15 years ago. It was also just neat to see these giant heads through the trees, driving by on any random day. It's too bad all that effort went to waste.
