We have wood floors on most of the 1st level of our house. Honestly, they need refinished, But since we currently have 3 kids and 4 dogs, ( + like now, a foster dog and watching someone else's dog while they are on vaca) the floor refinishing is not happening any time soon. So when I can clean them they look great ( I vacuum at least 1x a week, more if it is muddy out) And I usually clean them really good with the Orange glow 4in1 cleaner if someone is coming to our house. that usually happens at Least 2x a month, sometimes more.
My question is this.... What do you use for in between?? I used some orange glow spray every day cleaner to spot clean a few areas ( the kitchen, by the back door) it made the floors all streaky and hazy in a few areas. Maybe I need something else?? or need to clean the floor more often. It is such a pain to do with all of the furniture and dogs!

I get a microfiber cloth slightly damp with diluted white vinegar and use that.

I use a freedom mop. You can fill it with whatever solution you like. It's quick and easy for between major moppings. I bought it on amazon after my sister sang its praises.

I have a flat mop with a removable cover. I fill up a spray bottle with a homemade floor cleaner I found on Pinterest. It's 1 cup water, 1 cup rubbing alcohol, 1 cup hydrogen peroxide, and a few drops of dish soap. I spray it on the dry floor and wipe with the dry mop.
I actually use this method to clean my whole main floor and it looks great. After a few weeks though I notice the kitchen/dining area needs a good scrub so I clean on my hands and knees with a microfibre cloth. But the bedrooms and hallway never need more than a wipe with the spray and dry mop

I was told no and I haven't noticed anything on my floors. I had used all sorts of hardwood cleaners and they all left a hazy finish. This is the only one that doesn't leave that. But if you're not sure I would talk to a flooring guy to make sure!

We just rehabbed a 1960's ranch & had the original floors refinished. Everyone we've consulted says to use water & vinegar on the floors. All other products will leave a film.

I have a BonAmi spray mop with the trigger on the handle, similar to the Freedom mop. I just use vinegar and water in it and toss the cloths in the washer. I love it!. With the kids and dogs, I use it almost every afternoon. I use my steam mop to super clean the floor about once a week.

Thank you everyone! Sorry for just now getting back here, I was down sick for a few days! ugh. Question for you Vinegar and water peas.... What % do you use of each? 1/2 and 1/2 or?? I am going to try that this week when I clean the floors. We ALWAYS have Vinegar ( use it for some laundry and the Dishwasher) and I found an extra spray bottle when I cleaned under the sink last week. While I dont have the AWESOME Freedom Mop, I do have the microfiber mop from Bona.
THANKS!
