If you have taken Zoladex for Breast Cancer, can you tell me your experiences? My dad has stage 2 breast cancer and is on Zoladex. He has the joint pain, depression, tingling in his fingers and toes. We knew to expect weight gain. But I saw my dad for the first time in about a month, and I was surprised at how big and hard his stomach has gotten. IMHO it doesn't look like weight gain...its not fat. Its just big and hard when you tap his stomach. Is this normal? To my untrained eye, it looks like fluid retention - but its only in his stomach. I looked at his legs and they are as skinny as always. His face isn't larger either.
So is this just part of it? Or does this warrant a call to his dr? Pop says he thinks its normal (because they said to expect weight gain). He literally looks like a stick stuck in a basket ball (you know the expression people always use when skinny people get pregnant? Thats what he looks like).
He had his 6 month scans done about a month ago and he is clear of cancer so I am not concerned that its a tumor or anything like that.
So, what would you do?

He should contact his oncologist as soon as possible, since this has been going on for a while, and since he has tingling in addition to fluid retention. You can read up on Zoladex here: chemocare.com/chemotherapy/drug-info/Zoladex.aspxMy Cancer Center relies on the above site, so I trust the info. One of the things it does say is:

I had done a quick google search before posting and all I could really find was the tingling is a side effect and to expect weight gain. I will call Pop and share with him what you gave me. Thank you.
