That is just NASTY!!!! They dip them in water to help them go down. I had to stop watching or I would have hurled. Have any of you participated in anything like that?

I'm with you-nasty! I don't understand the desire to even try this.

The bun being dunked in water puts me over the edge. And the residual food on their faces.

I didn't see that one, but have seen one in the past. It is beyond disgusting. I hate the sound of people chewing loudly and the site of people chewing with their mouth open. Totally grosses me out. I can't think of a good reason why someone would want to do that.

I hate competitive eating or eating challenges. Food is not a sport, it's sustenance and a lot of people don't even get enough. I hate to see it wasted like that.

Although the thought of being completely grossed out is more than enough reason, I'll never forget Arely Rodriguez, who would now be 20/21 yrs old, died in our elementary school cafeteria in 5th grade because her friends challenged her to a hot dog eating contest.
My eldest daughter (who was in the cafeteria at the time) still remembers it in great detail.
