We’re probably the only two people in the world who don’t care for basil. You two are nucking futs. How can you not like basil? What about Thai basil then? It's my favourite herb in the world, alongside coriander/cilantro. I agree with Merge ... I don’t hate basil, I just don’t love it. I eat it when it’s served to me. I don’t leave it out, but I lighten up on it when it’s called for in recipes. But about tabouli ... ICK. Does it have parsley in it? I never particularly noticed, but my sister puts MINT in it, which I think is disgusting. I love mint in candy and gum, desserts, mint sauce ... sweet things. But not in drinks (what is that Cuban drink everyone loves? mojito? just NO!!) and most importantly, not in savory foods. GROSS. She makes it for every summer BBQ and I studiously avoid it. I guess I am a pickier eater than I ever realized.

Can't get enough of it.

I use a lot of Vietnamese mint and Thai basil together. I also use normal mint in several dishes, usually middle eastern or mediterranean. My favourite lamb dish (middle eastern) has mint in it, and my favourite potato salad (Greek) also has mint in it.

I like flat-leaf parsley in moderation. It can add some nice flavor to a dish when mixed with other things, but I don't want to be able to taste the parsley independently. Curly parsley is gross to me.

I like parsley. Find that it helps to settle my stomach when I chew a few leaves. I like it chopped fresh in mashed potatoes and soups and stews. I grow it in the garden in summer and use it from there until late fall, then pick the stems, rinse and air dry for a couple of weeks, and then store in ziplock bags for winter use.
