I like most herbs and spices, but really, really don't like parsley. It tastes like grass to me. DH likes it, so I do use it sometimes and made this hummus recipe yesterday. It was good except for the lingering aftertaste of the parsley. Next time I'll double the garlic and skip the parsley. So my pressing Sunday question is how do you feel about parsley?

I like it and grow it in the summer. It just adds a tiny taste and color to sauces. It is like the right pair of earrings to with an outfit! I like most green herbs though.

Parsley and chives go into my eggs along with a pinch of dill weed. So I use them a lot.
Also put parsley in my stocks, soups, and beef dishes.

They sell them in Asian markets but more likely at a Japanese market and they have the coolest taste in scrambled eggs. It’s a huge thing in Japan. The plant is called nira. It looks just like chives but there’s garlic in there, too.

I love cilantro, but hate parsley. I often leave it out and will only include it when making a recipe when it is crucial to the final flavor of the dish.

I will use it when called for in a cooked recipe. I don’t really like the flavor when added to top a dish as the fresh flavor is over powering to me...but I LOVE cilantro!

I love the taste of all herbs including parsley. I much prefer using them fresh if I can and they smell so wonderful when I am chopping up fresh herbs like parsley and cilantro on my wooden cutting board prior to adding them to my cooking.

It depends.
For garnish, I'd almost always rather use scallions.
When I make meatloaf or meatballs, the recipe I like calls for parsley, and I do add it. The trick is to use flat-leaf (Italian) parsley, not the curly stuff.

If I’m forced to use curly parsley, it doesn’t take much at all to give a parsley flavor.

I don’t always have fresh parsley around, but I almost always have cilantro, so sometimes I substitute cilantro for parsley, even in non-Mexican or Asian dishes. I’ve never regretted it. Some of you may not want to eat here. heh

I grow it in pots on my patio pretty much from now until April.

I voted "Other". I like parsley, and I asked my MIL to buy me a big pot of it for my birthday so I could plant it in my herb garden. But DSO doesn't like it so I sometimes/often leave it out of recipes. I take it you don't eat Tabbouleh / Tabouli then bc2ca???

I don’t love parsley. It doesn’t taste like grass to me, but it doesn’t taste good either. I am also one who tastes soap when I am eating cilantro.
If a recipe calls for parsley I will use it sparingly if it must be added. If it’s just supposed to be on top as a garnish, I leave it off and the rest of the family can sprinkle as desired.

It's my favourite herb in the world, alongside coriander/cilantro. I like Thai basil in pho or other Asian dishes - along with cilantro/coriander/whatever we all call it. I don't care for sweet basil in Italian dishes - and that's the kind of basil served far more commonly in the US. It's not that I won't eat it, I just wouldn't necessarily choose it. Overall I want my Italian less sweet than is commonly served here - no sugar in the sauce, no basil, yes to garlic and oregano and parsley.

Fortunately we have a couple friends that love to make it and I'm happy to have them bring it over. gillyp, my grass tasting days are long ago, but every time I eat parsley, I think of lawn grass. We also tasted buttercups, daisies, clover, dandelions, etc., back in the day.
