Decades in the Sun by Nightwish---although I think sun is only in the title- I don't have all the words memorized yet.
Another Nightwish that does have the word sun in it somewhere: Last Ride of the Day
Wintersun has two songs with sun in them, although Wintersun songs are not really "warm and sunny" songs LOL: Time, and Winter Madness

No clue who wrote that. We just sung it to our kids when they were little and the moon came out early.
I also remember a song from summer camp way back in the day

Get lost in the new day and the new dawn
Hurry down sun down, take the old day
Wrap it in new dreams, send it my way.
That's all I remember of it and the lyrics are similar but not the same as a Peter Paul and Mary song of the same time period.
