”Breaking News: President Trump reversed a decision by the Navy that sought to remove from the SEALs a sailor who was involved in a high-profile war crime case” And it is ok to disparage Lt Col Alexander Vindman, John McCain, the Khan family and all the others who have served our country! Particularly in Vindman's case threats to him and his family!

Particularly in Vindman's case threats to him and his family! yeah, I really do NOT get his reasoning in doing what he's doing, meddling in the decisions to pardon the military personnel... if that Navy SEAL was testifying in front of the Intelligence Committee, he'd be a 'Never Trumper' and a 'lying, sad, pathetic etc. etc.' but since he's NOT, then he's A-OK, I guess... ?? Doesn't DT (or any of his supporters) even SEE the hypocrisy in that?!?

Kyle Griffin..
”FIONA HILL: I had a bit of blowup with Amb. Sondland and I had a couple of testy encounters with him. One of those was in June 18, when I actually said to him, 'who put you in charge of Ukraine,' and you know, I'll admit I was a bit rude, and that's when he told me the president.”
This is another problem being created by trump and his appointees. They are all unqualified and that includes trump.

Way to go Dr Hill!! Fiona Hill, the former National Security Council senior director for Europe and Russia, said she was “angry” with Ambassador to the Euoropean Union Gordon Sondland and had “ a few testy encounters” with the ambassador. "I was actually, to be honest, angry with him,” Hill said during her public testimony on Thursday. “And I hate to say it, but often when women show anger it's not fully appreciated, it's often pushed off onto emotional issues, perhaps, or deflected on other people,” she added. ** thehill.com/homenews/house/471537-hill-often-when-women-show-anger-its-not-fully-appreciated

I can't decide if I am happy that the Democrats have refrained from trashing every lie that the Republicans say as they say it....or if I wish that they would do just that. Seems that they are letting them go on and on sharing their spin on things and it is frustrating. I think a lot of people who don't watch a lot of the whole testimony are just going to pay attention to the heated comments.
ETA that the republicans are saying so many partisan things that my 8 year old just asked what a democrat was because they seem to be saying it a lot. He is home sick and vicariously listening while doing other things.

“Trump claimed he got the permits for a LA facility that got its permits under Obama. He claimed he was responsible for a PA facility Shell decided to build under Obama. Yesterday he claimed to have "opened" a TX plant that's made Apple products since 2013:”
I’m still trying to figure out why the American Taxpayer should have to pay for the trip to and from Texas in one day for this.

I like Deval Patrick. Poor guy, no audience. I guess debate night probably wasn’t a good choice. If he gets any traction, I’d be interested. Didn’t he serve two terms as governor of Massachusetts? I like governors. That’s where I’m at with Bloomberg. If he gets any traction...maybe. I don’t know. He says he won’t run as an independent and I don’t think he should. 2016 it *might* have worked, who knows, would have solved the ‘but Hillary’ bull shit. But 2020 there’s NO WAY it would work. That would just guarantee a 2nd Term. I frequently agree with him, I’ve wanted him to run for years, BUT I’m tired of the old white men’s club. I think I’m over him.

How can Trump even do that??? I actually shouldn't say that because in fairness, as an elected school trustee, if our senior management wants to fire a principal or a teacher, we have a hearing (if the person chooses to appeal the firing) and we can overrule it. I mean, we've never sided against management in these cases - came close once - but we have the option to do so. We have shortened suspensions when management failed to make a good case/the rep for the employee made a better case/poked holes in management's arguments.

This from David Fahrenthold “NEW: The Secret Service spent $250K at @realdonaldtrump's properties in his first 5 months in office -- paying POTUS's business ***$2,000 a day*** in taxpayer funds, new documents show. t.co/uz3pcc18D2”Prompted this from Greta Van Susteren ”To better understand these statistics below, it would be helpful if you would report what was spent for the last two presidents in same period of time so that we have something to compare it to...otherwise, I don’t know if this expense is a lot or average or below average.” To which David Fahrenthold responded “Good Q! Key difference here: this is the total paid *to* @realdonaldtrump via his businesses. (Not the total spent *on* Trump's protection). One recent parallel: Biden charged Secret Service $24K/yr to rent a cottage in Del. Trump got more in 1 day.”

”Graham launches probe into Bidens, Burisma and Ukraine”
Prompted this comment from Walter Shaub
“Graham: Why ask a foreign government to abuse its power to interfere in our election when you can abuse your own power to interfere in our election? Before it's over Barr, Graham and all the rest will be "investigating" all of their political rivals. The Russification of America.”

This could be very bad news..... Certainly hope Barr was not involved! Washington (CNN)An FBI official is under criminal investigation after allegedly altering a document related to 2016 surveillance of a Trump campaign adviser, several people briefed on the matter told CNN. The possibility of a substantive change to an investigative document is likely to fuel accusations from President Donald Trump and his allies that the FBI committed wrongdoing in its investigation of connections between Russian election meddling and the Trump campaign. The finding is expected to be part of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's review of the FBI's effort to obtain warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act on Carter Page, a former Trump campaign aide. Horowitz will release the report next month. Horowitz turned over evidence on the allegedly altered document to John Durham, the federal prosecutor appointed early this year by Attorney General William Barr to conduct a broad investigation of intelligence gathered for the Russia probe by the CIA and other agencies, including the FBI. The altered document is also at least one focus of Durham's criminal probe. It's unknown how significant a role the altered document played in the FBI's investigation of Page and whether the FISA warrant would have been approved without the document. The alterations were significant enough to have shifted the document's meaning and came up during a part of Horowitz's FISA review where details were classified, according to the sources.** Horowitz is expected to release his report on December 9 and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee two days later. ** www.cnn.com/2019/11/21/politics/fbi-fisa-russia-investigation/index.html

Intelligent and unflappable. As child, during a test at school, a kid behind her started her pigtails on fire. She turned around, extinguished it with her hands and finished the test. It was brought up in the hearing, as you will see. Doesn't seem she's changed much. short video in link below www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/fiona-hill-fire-hair-impeachment-hearing-congress-trump-child-a9213036.html

This is piece about Rudy's fixer, who Rudy asked for help on Biden.... How do these people get in to all these messes. Short piece, worth a read. YOu will see some names that have been mentioned of late! WASHINGTON — In July, Rudy Giuliani was desperate for more information about Hunter Biden's work in Ukraine. So he turned to his longtime fixer for Ukrainian deals, a 46-year-old New York-based businessman named Vitaly Pruss. According to Pruss, Giuliani asked him to call Pruss' close friend, the owner of Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company that formerly had Hunter Biden on its board. Giuliani wanted to know if the owner, Mykola Zlochevsky, would meet with him to talk about Biden. But Zlochevsky made it clear "he wanted nothing to do with it," Pruss told NBC News in an interview at a restaurant in midtown Manhattan. Among the unresolved mysteries in the impeachment saga is how Giuliani, the president's lawyer and a man with little known background in foreign policy, became the White House's point man on Ukraine. The answer in part lies with his relationship with Pruss, who has acted as the former New York mayor's political and business matchmaker in the former Soviet Union for years. ** Unlike Giuliani, Pruss said he is reluctant to call for any investigation into Burisma, his friend Zlochevsky's natural gas company. "They have been investigated. The case is closed. I don't know details. Important thing, they are largest independent gas company in Ukraine. Very essential for conflict with Russia. They have to be supported not attacked," he said. As for Hunter Biden, he said there's no crime to investigate. "Whatever he did in Ukraine was highly unethical," he said, "There was no crime but very bad judgment." Despite probing by Trump associates, there is no evidence that Hunter Biden or his father, the former vice president and current presidential candidate, acted improperly or violated any laws. Meanwhile, in politically charged congressional hearings in Washington, Giuliani's activities in Ukraine have come under intense scrutiny, with Democrats accusing Trump's personal lawyer of pressuring Ukraine to dig up dirt on the Bidens. ** www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry/what-does-giuliani-s-longtime-fixer-know-about-rudy-s-n1086231

What I don’t understand is how they keep saying since Ukraine didn’t complete the investigation it means there was no crime. If I arrange for someone to kill my husband can’t I be arrested even if the person I hired doesn’t commit the crime? I know it isn’t the same thing, but for the freaking POTUS to ask a foreign government to investigate a political rival to benefit their campaign is a crime even if the foreign government doesn’t follow through, right?

Say I have a traffic ticket, walk into police headquarters, ask for the cop, place an envelope on the counter with $$$ visible, and ask the cop to change the ticket. He says no. YOU know I will not walk out unscathed. I have ATTEMPTED bribery and will be charged!
