Yeah, I have been gift bagging it for years (EXCEPT for Christmas.. I wrap most of my Christmas presents, but I am not including Christmas).. .I just went out and bought some really pretty paper and sprung for bows for a couple of presents for my DD and fiancee to open on the day they close on their house. I was sitting there thinking, I can't even remember the last time I really took the time to make it look really pretty. I would say it's been at least 10 years. AND I used to wrap stuff at JCPennys back in the day.

Every year!! It’s my mom and mine’s “thing.” We do elaborate wrapping , ribbon, and tag combos. I wish I could still post pics here (totally forgot how), and I would share. We are obsessed with wrapping beautiful packages! 😅 Erin

Just after graduation in the spring. When my DD’s friend that was an exchange student from Germany left to go home. My DD painted her this picture as a going away present so she would always remember her time in KY and she was in a Charlie Brown play with the drama club while here.

Last Christmas. I found vintage paper and vintage satin ribbon. Packages were so nice.

Never! I wrap presents like a seven year old boy. I prefer bags. DH hates bags and will spend hours precisely cutting dollar store wrapping paper.

At work. When a co worker is having a baby and we have a shower for her. I like to wrap the gift in a receiving blanket and make a bow out of baby things. I try real hard to make it look cute.

Never. I am the absolute worst gift wrapper. My presents always look like a 5 year old wrapped them.

Honestly, when I was a young teen. My mom used to pay me a dime a package to wrap all the presents except my own. I loved it and did a beautiful job. Nice corners, lots of ribbon curls.
Somehow that skill completely disappeared in adulthood. When I try to wrap something, it always ends up looking like a trained monkey did it. I've given up trying! Gift bags it is.

I love to wrap gifts. Sadly, I only tend to do it during Christmas.

I hate wrapping gifts and I am terrible at it. Fortunately, I have a dh who actually enjoys it and is good at it.
At this moment I am looking at a gift I 'wrapped'. It is a knit hooded towel for a baby, and a pair of baby socks. It's a gift I need to ship. I couldn't imagine finding a box for the towel, as it's bulky. So I put it in a clear bag, like the ones you wrap gift baskets in, and tied it with ribbon. It looks a little weird, but it's pretty much how I roll. The easiest way out, the better.

I wrap about 30 presents every Christmas with beautiful paper, handmade bows, and handmade tags. It's my thing. About gift 27 I am saying somethings I wouldn't say in front of Jesus though.

Before I had kids. *sigh* I used to love gift wrapping in perfect paper and lovely tissue and bows. Then it became a “I don’t have time for this chore.” I do miss it. But gift bags are my friend!

Last Christmas. I use to love wrapping gifts as a kid but now I hate it and try to use a bag when I can.

October 21, 2019 Dh's bday and I wanted to use this really wide, wired "over the hill" ribbon that I bought. So I wrapped a gift very nicely to show off the ribbon. LOL

Back in the Spring, I wrapped a 12-pack of Budweiser for a friend's birthday. I use black and white checkerboard paper, wrapped a red ribbon around, and topped it with a pretty red bow.

My first and favorite job was a Christmas gift wrapper at a department store at 16. I seem to collect pretty gift wrap but use gift bags too much, since I’m usually in a hurry.
I have a Pinterest board with gift wrap ideas.😉

I use gift bags for everything including Christmas. On the rare occasion I do wrap it is paper, tag, and done.

I wrap 90% of my Xmas presents and add a bow from a bag. I throw 90% of any other gifts in a bag. The 10% of gifts that get wrapped, I wrap well. My sister and I owned a gift basket company 20 years ago, and bows are my jam.

DD's birthday in July - always go above and beyond - she appreciates the time and effort - the rest of the family are males - a brown paper bag would do as long as they get the present! - and DGD is not of an age yet to appreciate a pretty parcel.

I'm a good gift wrapper and enjoy doing it. The last gift I wrapped was my mom's birthday in August.

Pretty much every time. I’m not keen on giving something in a bag even though I put pretty tissue paper in.
I love doing fancy wrapping and like choosing little extra adornments to go on the parcel.

Christmas... I haven't given any gifts since then though except for a couple for a baby shower that I did put in bags because I didn't have any boxes to put them in(and honestly it was a rough week so I simply didnt bother finding boxes or I'd have wrapped them too).. I much more prefer to give a gift that has been wrapped, and I personally prefer to unwrap a gift vs pull it out of a bag..

twistedscissors Your DD is amazingly talented. Your exchange student must have been thrilled with her gift. Your bow making skills are wonderful, too. I like wrapping gifts. I buy rolls of 5" tulle for bows for baby and wedding gifts. It makes simple, but pretty bows easily.

I like to wrap pretty packages. I don't really even care if the gift receiver appreciates it. I got the pleasure out of the process. We've cut down on quantity of presents for family too in favor of quality so it's even more important to me that the gift be presented well. Nice work by twistedscissors' daughter!

I wrap almost all of the presents I give. A wrapped present "feels" special to me. Pretty much the only time I use a gift bag is if the present is awkwardly shaped.
I once used plain, non-patterned wrapping paper on a large box and decorated it with cutout elephants that I made with my silhouette machine. Honestly, it really didn't take much time at all to do because I kept it simple. The reason I decorated it with cutout elephants was because I didn't have any bows or ribbon and the only paper I had was plain or birthday themed. The present was for a baby shower (sex of baby unknown). I couldn't get over how many people commented about how cute the box was.

June for father's day for my husband.
The only time I use a bag is if I bought an odd shaped item I wouldn't be able to wrap nicely or there are a bunch of small gifts that are to be given together

I hate gift bags, so I prefer to wrap gifts, but lately my environmentally conscious self is seriously questioning even that practice. I am at uncomfortable odds with myself every time I wrap a gift these days. I just hate the wasted money and wasted resources going into landfills (because, let's face it, not much of it is getting recycled).
Not even kidding, being aware is a huge buzzkill.

I’m a ninja at gift wrapping. It’s my jam. So much so my family has always said I must be part elf, LOL. I just wrapped a pretty gift last week. My sister was in town visiting. I had something that I was going to give her for her birthday next month that I didn’t want to ship so I wrapped it up nicely in a box with paper, tissue paper inside, the whole thing.
I typically wrap all gifts with paper but I have had to make a few concessions in recent years. I used to wrap all the kid birthday gifts for the parties that DD would get invited to, but I stopped doing that and went to gift bags for those for several reasons. One, it seems like kids can never ever get the ribbons off and no one ever has a scissors. Two, it takes them too long to unwrap a wrapped gift at a party when there is a huge pile of stuff to open and people are waiting for the kid to get to theirs. And three, I had such a huge pile of slightly used, perfect condition bags that DD’s birthday gifts came in from everybody who can’t wrap, that I couldn’t justify throwing away and they can’t be recycled because often they’re plastic coated. So I just reuse as many of them as I can now and try not to think twice about it.
Christmas gifts will NEVER be bagged in this house. Not ever. I don’t trust anyone here to not peek, including myself! It keeps us all honest, LOL.
