This morning, my aerosol hairspray nozzle was clogged so I tried to scrape away the hardened spray with my nail. Of course while looking right at the pin sized hole and scraping, I somehow managed to push the nozzle down and got shot in the eye with hairspray.
What dumb thing did you recently do?

I used a face product on my face without testing it first. I am now the proud owner of a bright red face where I had used the product. And not only is it bright red, it feels like my face is wind burned. AWESOME combination.

Ugh!
I grabbed my glass butter dish to move it from one counter to the to the next and when I set it down the base broke into bits. After I cleaned it up I realized I was bleeding and a tiny sliver was in my finger.

I was making part of my DD’s Halloween costume which is two tubes of fabric that had to be stuffed to make puffy cuffs for some long gloves. Because I didn’t want a raw edge to show, I thought I’d just sew the short ends together, sew most of the long sides together and leave a hole to turn it right side out. Except it didn’t exactly work out that way. Once I turned it, I realized that now I had a really skinny tube of the wrong dimensions that her hand wouldn’t even fit through. Had to rip out the short ends, turn it right side out so I could stuff it, and then sew the short ends together with the seam showing on the inside of the cuff. There’s no way to do it without having a showing seam on the inside. Oh well. It looks good from the outside. I have to keep saying my BFF’s mantra which is, “It’s only a costume. It’s only a costume!”

In the shower this morning, I started to wash my face with hair conditioner. Yeah, I was on top of things today 😬

I forgot a bag for trick or treating. I even had a bucket that matched his skeleton t-shirt. Good thing it was for businesses in town. I made a purchase at the grocery store just for the bag.

“It’s only a costume. It’s only a costume!” See my post above. This is my son's third year (not in a row) being a skeleton. You're doing great!

“It’s only a costume. It’s only a costume!” See my post above. This is my son's third year (not in a row) being a skeleton. You're doing great! I had her original costume about 80% done (Chibiusa from Sailor Moon) and she was so disappointed to not be able to wear it to ToT because it’s going to be way too cold. I told her she could wear it for her class party at school since I was so close to having it done. Her other costume has a mask (Shy Guy from Mario) and that’s off limits for school. I don’t remember ever needing to have two different costumes the same year! Attachments:

Forgot to pay the Lowe’s bill (paying off an air conditioner replaced at low interest). It hadn’t come in the mail yet when I scheduled the other bills, so I was waiting for the statement. But then I forgot and assumed I’d paid it when I scheduled the other bills.
Worse? When I “found” extra money in the budget this month, I went ahead and bought supplies for a bathroom redo (new vanity, mirror, light, wall cabinet, faucet, tile).
Yeah that wasn’t “extra” money, it was the money for the Lowes bill, which I have now paid plus extra for fees. Ugh.

I badly tore up the side of my car having a tough time trying to make a corner in a tight alley. Oh, that is a tough one! When I was much younger, I had to learn fast how to drive a stick shift car and DH was trying to teach me. Let’s just say that backing up in my mom’s driveway was a challenge, and I hit the corner of the brick ledge surrounding her yard light with my tire. Yup, took the whole thing out. That was over 30 years ago and DH will never let me live it down.

Apparently I poked myself in the eye in my sleep. Woke up at 4:15am in searing pain with my eye pouring with tears. Very stressful & frightening. Had to wake dh up to check it for me. It stung throughout the day yesterday & ran a lot but gradually improved, so I guess I’m stupid but lucky.

I am furiously trying to finish a cross stitch for my friend. I used the wrong color and had to pick it all out. Took me an hour. Now I don’t have enough thread to finish the project (it was a kit). I am going to have to try to match it with a shade from my stash.

I have this really neat half inch wide, clear, see through rubber band around my check book. It holds everything together perfectly. I rarely get into my check book but needed some info so I took the band off and got my information. I went to put the band back on it and it was gone.
I never moved from the table so I knew it had to be right here. I moved my chair, cleared the table, looked in my purse that was laying there but couldn't find it. My husband walked in right then and he helped me move the table and look under the rug. I tore the room apart looking but it was gone, so I said never mind, it will show up. Went to put my checkbook away and when I reached out I saw the band. It was on my wrist...for safe keeping, so I wouldn't lose it.

Deep cleaning a not-often-used guest bedroom and noticed that there was a bit of dust on the lightbulb of the lamp. Took my damp cleaning rag to the lightbulb.... you know, the lightbulb that was on and was hot. Stupid thing blew up the minute the cool, damp rag touched it. Dumb, dumb, dumb...

I wore my Dh's large workboots outside a little bit ago to clean up a dog pile so Trick-or-Treaters don't step in it and bring it on the front porch. While clomping around, the dog ran around my leg and I tripped and fell flat out on the sidewalk. Caught myself with my hands before my face hit flat onto the cement too. But the rest of me from chin to toes was flat out for all the neighborhood to see. Then I came inside to finish dishes and dropped a glass and it shattered everywhere. Ugh!

Last night, the key to my room wouldn’t work, we tried and tried and decided to go to the lobby for help....as we were getting on the elevator, we realized why our key didn’t work....we were on the wrong floor! 😀

What dumb thing did you recently do? I once got hairspray in my eyes right before I headed out for an eye appointment. I was afraid I’d end up with the wrong prescription since things were a little blurry for a bit. Hairspray seems to be my downfall. The other day I grabbed the hairspray to give just another spritz to my hair - forgetting that the hairspray I’ve been using recently does NOT have a cap that comes off. I pulled off the top before I realized this and then I couldn’t get it back on and lined up to spray correctly. While shifting it and repeatedly spraying to see if it was working I ended up with hairspray leaking out of the top all over the counter and my hand. I gave up and tossed it when I broke the part you push on to spray. The biggest bummer is that it was an almost full can, and it wasn’t cheap.

made a fuss at my DDs bday party with all her 18-19 year old friends to please turn the music down so i could activate my tile because i was leaving and couldn't find my keys (app on your phone you push and makes your fob on your keys ring). everyone turns around to look at me and DD says "umm, they are on your wrist".
(I have a cord keychain to wear them on my wrist... because i lose them all the time.... )

I spilled tea in my laptop and it is bricked. Possibly worse than the loss of my laptop is the 15 or so hours I had spent drafting a contract that was saved on my laptop. Which ordinarily would have been saved to my server, except that a tornado knocked out power to my office (and therefore my server) and that contract was one of the only things I could do without server access. Guess how I'll be spending my weekend?

I am going to have to try to match it with a shade from my stash. Janet I just did the same thing. I was very pleased with myself the other night because I had gotten so much done only to find out yesterday that it was the wrong color. Took me two hours to rip it out and the rest of the day to redo with the right color. I was not happy.

My debit card didn’t work when I flew to Seattle last week because my dad had a stroke. In my defense, I was jet lagged, exhausted and emotionally wrung out. For 2 days I kept trying different atms and stressing about calling the bank in Korea...I’d given my credit card to oldest DD who went to NY.
Yeah, it’s an American bank. I realized that finally, called, it took 1 minute and worked (they flagged it for being used far away). But I spent 2 days lamenting the time difference and thinking I had to call Korea for some unknown reason. And just stopping at atms and saying “well it doesn’t work” I stead of freaking calling them like a rational person!
My executive functioning is SO bad lately due to all this stress. It’s actually scaring me. I’m grateful my license expired and I couldn’t drive in the US, I’d have killed someone.

Started watching Friday Night Lights on demand. It's one of my favorites. The next show starts automatically and all of a sudden it's almost 1:00 in the morning.

I went and made a huge Costco run, buying all kinds of meat and everything to restock my outdoor freezer...forgetting that this is Santa Ana wind/fire/power outage season where I live and AHHHHHHH all nervous now for power shut downs! Dumb, dumb, dumb. Thankfully all the power outages I've experienced in my neighborhood have lasted only a few hours, so no spoiled food.
Ugh, our new normal.

At my last girls weekend, one of the gals got us all face masks. I had assumed it was the sheet kind that you lay over your face and just relax. So I filled a nice hot tub.
It was the gooey kind, that turns into a peeling mask after it dries. So I slathered it all over my face. It had honey in it, so it was a pain to get my hands "un sticky" for using my ipad in the tub.
Little tip:
When you take a super hot bath your face sweats. So much so, that the mask that was supposed to dry in 20 minutes to peel off? It stayed STICKY.
And rinsing it off? Just kept smoothing it all over my face. So I grabbed my face scrub (that I really never use) and use the exfoilient to get help get it off. And this scrub kinda burns my face. So I quick scrubbed and managed to rinse most of it and the mask away. Just a mess!
