Yep I noticed that as well. I believe there were a few negative comments about some international Peas not sending cards earlier in the year but hope that didn’t put people off. It is an expensive business though. Unfortunately I won’t be able to afford to send to everyone on the list. Couldn’t believe that international postage has gone up again last time I went to the PO. I too can't afford to send to everyone on the list - but I guess I will go without a bottle of wine or two to do my best. Last time I checked, postage was $2.70 (NZ) to the States and Canada - how much is it this year???
I was quoted $4, but could be wrong.

Sadly no. $3.30 for a standard letter/card, other than to Oz. It's just getting crazy. In another year or two, if the prices keep going up everyone overseas is going to be getting emails and ecards.

Oof, that's awful! I think I'd be looking towards sending postcards at least. But they're still expensive and I never trust them to arrive. I'd suggest mailing a package of cards to one of us in the US to mail on but I've seen how much my family spends to mail packages to me from NZ and I'm not sure it would be any savings. If anyone thinks it will help though, I'm willing to help my fellow kiwis out.

I send to all international and Canadian. I send to all who sign up on the scrapbook board and then I pick at least one from every state listed. Then if I have more stamps left over I keep going.
It's $1.05 to send in Canada alone. $1.85? For USA $2.65 for international or close to that I have exact written down and nickel and quarter stamps to make it exact. Last year , my first year I sent out about sixty.

I send to everyone because I enjoy the process. No expectations. If any internationals didn’t sign up due to cost of postage, pm me your address, I’ll add you to my list. You never know, you might get an EXACT COPY of a famous card makers design and I will not give credit to said “celebrity”. 😂

Wait, do the cards have to be designer looking? Becuase I have a daughter with Down Syndrome and she's been helping me make cards for "our new friends" but some of them do look like she's been helping me. I would be devastated to read snarky comments about how my cards look when we've been having such a blast making them.

They can be handmade, store-bought, postcard etc. Whatever your heart desires! I think it's wonderful that she's helping. ♥ Can't wait to see! And...if anyone were to make a snarky comment about that they have absolutely no business being in the swap in the first place! It is to simply bring joy during the season no matter what kind of cards you send or how many you send.

We ignore the snarks and don’t let them ruin the fun for the rest of us!

I just have a snark beef with a card celebrity’s ego so have to copy one of her cards on principle AND not give her credit. It’s for the greater good, trust me on this.

I'm looking forward to (hopefully, maybe) getting one of the cards she's helped make! There is snark sometimes, but it's usually by some coldhearted people who monitor certain people they believe are taking advantage by not sending any cards out, only receiving them (not that any of us can figure out 1. how they would know and 2. why they would care). I've never seen any comments about the quality of the cards - whether homemade or store bought, designer copies or kid-made. It's all good to me. I did something similar last year when I couldn't send to everyone. I started with internationals because I figured they would get the least and I had really nice stamps for global post, then I sent to anyone I had spoken to personally, so mostly people here on the scrappy side of the board, and then I mailed back to anyone I'd missed who sent me a card, until about mid-Dec. This year I bought some Avery labels from amazon (about $5) and figured out how to do mail merge with the spreadsheet on Avery.com (for free) so I can print out everyone's address. That will make the process faster. It wasn't too difficult. My cards aren't quite ready. I should've done that this afternoon, but I forgot. But I'll get my Tiny Tim (travel platform) out and stamp some sentiments this weekend.

I've participated a few times and really enjoyed it. I do remember that griping but that wasn't why I didn't participate this year I missed the sign up my own fault but it was just as well because I found out I'm getting laid off for 5 to 6 weeks next month. I am not over here on SBR much, but feel free to PM your address to me, and I will be happy to manually add you to my list. I will have extra international stamps anyway. (I ordered online, so I had to get 20.)

I’ll just be super excited to get any card actually. It’s the thought that counts not if it’s handmade, store bought or even if it’s perfect. Everybody should be thankful for the things they receive. Whether it be an actual gift, a card or a piece of candy from a co-worker. No, it may not be my favorite but I so appreciate that I was thought of. That means so much more than what I actually receive. Well that’s just my two cents and I’ll get down off the soap box now. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

I am almost complete. The mood struck me today to addressed and stamp envelopes. I have a few more cards to sign and stuff yet.
Have to buy 40 more 25 cent stamps for my USA cards.

I also don't care if it's from a dollar store. I made cards, but they are definitely NOT designer looking. They are simple.
