sleepingbooty , nylene , MDscrapaholic , lynnek , gramma , KikiPea , @tammiem2pnc1, ComplicatedLady , refugeepea , @sunnycalimom , Dictionary welcome to the November challenges (and my team ) I can't believe this year is nearly over and the frantic holiday season is here! It drives me crazy how fast time goes! I'm just mentally not ready for it lol. Outside of Thanksgiving here in the US, this should be a pretty quiet month for me so I hope to get a lot of crafting done. I am joining in on the online crop at SG next weekend so that should help. My Thanksgiving is pretty laid back, no cooking, I cheat and pick up dinner from Bob Evans. Online shopping only, if I do any at all that day. Although I am looking forward to the scrappy BF sales. I hope they are good lol. Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions that are specific to your family and have you ever scrapped them? I'm looking forward to seeing all the beautiful and inspiring pages! And I'm also looking forward to meeting challenges but doing the quick version of counting lol. I hope we all meet the scrappy goals we've set for ourselves this month! I always have such good intentions...... lol

It isn't Thanksgiving at our home without fresh cranberry relish made by grinding oranges, apples and cranberries in an old hand meat grinder and sweetened with sugar. Usually the grands come the week before to help make it. We will only have one family with us this year and our son might drop by that day or the next. I cook the turkey, but Village Inn cooks my pies. LOL

Well for us it's the normal staples, we set the table and dress but if my grandmother was alive there'd be and orange salad but alas none of my kids or grandkids really care for oranges so we don't do that. I am easily halfway done with Christmas shopping so am looking forward to enjoying the Christmas season and we depart for Disneyland on Black Friday so my biggest fear is forgetting to pack for the last minute. It's only me cooking and a small crowd of 10.
I am selling at a local art and craft fair on Saturday so right now I need to finish some Grinch shirts for boys, so balancing sewing, baking, and scrapping is a fine line plus whatever appts come my way.

Thanksgiving us big in my family. It will be 20 years this Thanksgiving that dh and I were hit by a drunk driver. They thought I would be DOA due to how mangled the car was but after a 10+ hour surgery I was alive. Had 6 surgeries and a lot of healing. That day forever changed my life.
I make a gf lf nf sf cf pimpkin pie filling that us made into mini crumble crust pies. I am also making an allergy friendly artichoke dip and gf lf cf sf nf ranch dressing.
I go to my parents early and help cook.
Not sure how much I will get done this month. I am making the name cards. And got 1 layout done.
Dd has her next ivig infusion Friday and has 4 appointments this month, 1 big one at CHLA with the only so cal connective tissue specialist. Ds and I will begin testing after that appointment. (hEDS) After that appointment we will head to AGPLA for some doll shopping.

nylene I love cranberry relish/sauce! That's so cool that your grands come to help. I'll bet they love it. Dictionary way to go being so ahead of the game for Christmas! Have fun at Disney! And you sell at craft shows? Awesome! @sunnycalimom what a terrible thing to have happen and on Thanksgiving! Having survived would make Thanksgiving extra special for me with so much to be thankful for! I hope all of your appointments go well. It sounds like you all have a much busier month planned than I do lol. My family is small and is made up of boys. After all the years of cooking I decided to give up the stress of that and get Bob Evans and spend more time enjoying the company. Years of trying to do it all through both holidays really sucked the joy out of them, so I have really scaled back and simplified and that joy comes back a little more every year. We always had turkey and egg noodles growing up, so those are still staples of my dinner. I have a layout on the table that I started in August that just wouldn't come together for me so I'm going to attempt to finish that. And trying my had at some Christmas cards. Cards aren't my thing, but when I see all the beautiful cards in Cardtober it inspires me to try.

So fun to hear about people's Thanksgiving traditions! My extended family is in a bit of a transition. I have done Thanksgiving for years, but offered two years ago to alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with my brother and sister in law. My kids hate it!! LOL! No one cooks like your own mom. I took a Thanksgiving dinner cooking class probably 20 years ago now and my menu is still very much based on that class. I am allergic to celery (I know, such a stupid allergy!) but that makes the stuffing a little iffy so I have a good one that I always use. It is my year for Thanksgiving at our house so my kids will be happy about that. I love making it all and our guests kind of shake their heads that the only thing I let people bring is the bread and wine. BUt I just like my menu the way I like it and have it down to a fine science getting it done by this point. joyfulnana - I think there is not one thing wrong with picking up dinner and enjoying the day with family! A very nice tradition in itself. nylene - I love that kind of cranberry salad! But I make a hot one and then my kids love the canned stuff to, so I stopped doing that one thinking three cranberry recipes might be a bit much. LOL! But your comment makes me want to make it again this year. Dictionary - That would be so fun to go to Disney then! And good luck at the craft fairs. What do you sell? @sunnycalimom - Wow! How very scary! I am sure you are extra thankful every year! It sounds like you have other health things going on too. Hope those things go well! As far as the challenge for the month, we have a bust month so I am not sure how productive I am going to be. My mom's birthday is Monday and I started on a set of note cards to give her last night as part of her gift. ComplicatedLady - the note cards are basically a copy of your color block cards from last month's day 7 challenge. I ordered that die and am so excitied to make them for my mom! She will love them! I also went through the challenges and have about 6 pages in mind that I would like to do to start. I hope to get the photos edited and turned in to print today so I can get scrapping this weekend.

Since last month was a horrible scrappy month, I'm hoping this month will be much better! SG is having an online crop this weekend and I am planning to scrap Friday night, Saturday and part of Sunday. Now whether or not I can stay focused that long is a different story lol. I usually watch Netflix while I scrap, but it really is distracting so I'm thinking maybe music this weekend instead. I would love to listen to an audio book while I scrap, but my mind can't concentrate on two things like that lol.

Dd had her third ivig infusion yesterday. Was a busy week as she was home all week due to illness, appointment, and medical needs.
Going to fix breakfast for the family and then sit down to scrap at least 2 layouts. Not sure if I want to do this years Halloween for both kids, past Christmas, or Day out with Thomas...

Well I have completed 3 layouts! Going to work on at least 1 today, maybe 2. It's football day and my Chiefs should be on here.
Got my shirt, socks, and jersey ready 😁

This year Thanksgiving will be different for us. It changed when our kids married and had their own families. Now the grandkids are mostly all in their late teens and want to go with their girl/boy friends for dinner. Also - one grand daughter is in India on a mission and won't be back until March. So Thanksgiving may be small. Which is OK - more turkey for me!

Way to go @sunnycalimom! Are you from KC? I live in KC and I'm always curious to know how people out of the area become Chiefs fans lol.
I cropped a good part of the day yesterday and got one two pager done. I'm playing along with the SG crop so a good part of the day was playing games as well lol. Today it's food prep for the week, laundry and some other chores then scrapping again for a couple hours this evening. I'm so not ready for the weekend to be over.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend! It's been a beautiful couple of days here!

Hello team! How is everyone doing? I've completed a couple of layouts for the month and plan to start another one today. I still have a few challenges from the SG crop I want to get finished by the December 6 deadline. And I also have Christmas cards to make, first time trying that. I guess if they turn out I will go with store bought lol.
I hope you are all having a good weekend!

gramma, our grands are getting older too. We will have just one family here with a 18, 16 and 7 year old. I miss the days of lots of littles running around underfoot. However, the 7 year old (Alex) is active enough to equal several littles! joyfulnana, I have been holed up making Christmas cards. They are almost finished. I stopped to make a layout today, but then back to finishing them tonight. MDscrapaholic, did you post your pages? I'll have to go look.

We will probably end up doing our thanksgiving meal on Friday instead of Thursday. Since none of us are big Black Friday shoppers, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal.
I’ve been working on a travel notebook album from our recent October break trip. I only have a few pages to go before it’s finished!
I also need to get moving on Christmas/holiday cards! I hope I can squeeze in some craft time tomorrow.

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions that are specific to your family and have you ever scrapped them? It's kind of warped but we watch Adams Family Values 2. They do a skit at summer camp about the first Thanksgiving.

How's it going? refugeepea I've never seen that movie, wow that took a turn lol! We are going to watch a Christmas movie this year after dinner and get in the season started. Which way are you going to counts points this month? I'm going to be counting per project. I still won't have a huge amount of points, but definitely easier to keep track of!

I'm scrapping photos this month mostly using divided sheet protectors with lots of photos. Tracking points hasn't been too bad. I'm not the fastest either.

Whew! The holiday weekend is officially over for me! I think I'm also done shopping for scrappy things. I haven't shopped for anyone but myself so far this weekend lol. I can't believe it's December already!! Thank you refugeepea! If you ladies want to PM me, leave your points here or are updating the calculation thread, any way is fine for getting points to me! Man, I still can't wrap my head around it being Dec 1st! Why does time go so fast?! JYC starts today and I'm not mentally prepared for that yet lol..

We had a very lowkey Tday this year. My mom and our family have been through a lot ofver the last 4 months with my grandma decling, then going to be with our Heavely Father October 27th. So, this year, instead of doing a lot of cooking, and having tons of leftovers, we went to a place called Blue Mesa for a Tday buffet (We don't really like buffets, but this one is SO good, and well done.). They have everything from Tday fod to Tex Mex. Best of both worlds! It really didn't feel like Tday, and that made my mom a little sad, but she loved the food, and enjoyed the company. I told her that this year we all just needed to relax and refresh and reflect, and we could start a new tradition next year, doing whatever she wanted to do.
I cannot BELIEVE it's almost 2020. I remember when working for a scrapbook company doing customer service a few years back that I it surprised me when someone had a CC that expired in 2018. LOL Man, how time flies!
