Gotta buy another Big Shot. Mine is crunching it's gears with every turn and I'm sure it's going to die very soon. It's been a gem for about six years--I use it quite often.
I bought this one through a promo from Stampin' Up!
So here's the question: would you buy new one or used one off of eBay?
Advice?

I would certainly consider a used one. There are a lot of people that buy them and then don't use them. I saw a YouTube video about changing the rotors on the big shot. Maybe this would help yours?

I'd buy new unless I knew how much use a machine had - otherwise you might end up in the same position. Wonder if yours can be fixed though - have you contacted Sizzix CS?

I always see some type of deal on those. Or with the coupon, a new one could be really reasonable. I typically lean towards new.

Depends how cheap you can find a used one on ebay. The shipping on that thing is going to be a little costly. I'd lean towards new.

I would recommend new if you can. My BS (also from SU) may have been a little older than yours, but I had gears that had been crunching for about a year. It finally got so it essentially bound up, and in desperation I had DH help me take it apart. The gears were steel but the problem was rust! We did a quick clean up and oiled it and it's been working fine since. I would have bought a new one on the way to the crop I was headed to, so I was glad we went for it and took it apart.

If you use it a lot I would get new. I bought a used Big Shot Express (the electric one) and it worked for one day for about 15 minutes. I was so bummed. If you buy new, you at least have a warranty if it breaks.

I'd go with a new one. I don't know what they're going for on Ebay but you can get one at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby with a coupon. It might be worth it for the peace of mind.

Now see, I never would have even thought to actually take it apart and look it over!! Kudos to you!!

You can probably get a new one super cheap with a coupon at a big box store or black Friday sale.
