The Sears in my town is not on the list but they are closing. The liquidation sale is going on right now.
I happened to go to the other Sears in a couple of cities over from here, and they are not closing. Store is well stocked and they are even hiring for the holiday.

I'm sad that ours is on this new list. We didn't go often, but it was still my place to shop for tools and appliances. I worked there in the 80s and the store is so very different now with limited stock and limited staff. I'm also old enough to remember the huge annual catalog that you could spend hours going through. I kind of miss catalog days...

I happened to go to the other Sears in a couple of cities over from here, and they are not closing. Store is well stocked and they are even hiring for the holiday. We have one of those smaller 'appliance and lawn mower only' type of Sears stores. They've had a sign out front for a while now that they are locally owned and independent, therefore not closing. Our K-Mart closed a year ago or longer.

Sears was a victim of itself. I feel badly for the lost jobs and revenues, but Sears stopped being a good store a decade ago.

The only Sears close by is on the list but it seems to have been going downhill. After that, two across the bay.

My Kmart is on the list. I was just in there last week looking for a Christmas tree. Both my husband and I commented something was going on. They had sooo many of the same item on a shelf, it was totally weird. They must be clearing out warehouses.

I'm surprised at the number of stores still open! None are listed in my state. I don't think there are anymore.

Our Sears closed last year. It was so sad to see the state of the store declining over the years. It used to be one of my favorites to shop for the kidlets. Our Kmart burned down in the Tubbs fire, so I guess that solved that issue for them. It too was never maintained with staffing and cleanliness over the years.

Ours is on the list, but we knew it would be. It’s in the same shopping area as a Target, Kohl’s, and Michaels, but it’s section of the parking lot is always empty.
It’s sad to see such a staple in US retail history fade away like that.

both the Kmart and Sears are closing where I live. I haven't been in either store since about 4 years ago. I do miss the Sears wishbook.

The local newspaper here just announced Sears was closing; I don’t believe this location was on the list. The local Kmart closed a few years back I think.
I hadn’t been there in a couple of years (don't go to the mall much and many stores have been closed long term after heavy hurricane damages), but even back then it was a mess, understaffed, and poorly maintained.
Very sad, my grandmother who passed away last fall spent a lifetime as a loyal Sears employee and loved the company and the benefits she had.

My local Kmart closed two Sundays ago. The Sears went almost two years ago.
Honestly, it’s been a shell of itself for years.
Every time I went in there (which was rarely) it was poorly stocked and dirty. I wasn’t surprised when they announced their closure, although I felt very sorry for the long time employees.
Now we’re losing our Pier 1. That one I really am sorry about, I loved stopping in there.
