I've done that to DH when his stuff sits there too long But why? In our case, our DVR is never above 30% full - and that is with 30-50 hours worth of stuff. It isn’t like he needs to actually erase anything, let alone my stuff, because we are in danger of being full. It is one of the very few things he does that annoys the crap out of me. There is absolutely no rational reason for him to erase my recorded programs except that he doesn’t care about them and apparently doesn’t care that I do. for me, ours is almost always at about 70%, but the DH will record shows or movies that he never watches and we hit 100% actually losing some shows. For instance, dodgeball (the movie) was on. It was about 1/4 of the way in so he records it. 2 months later is is on again and he records it again. At no time in those two months did he even watch the first on he recorded. Or Life Below Zero. He has it set up to record ALL showings. We can get more than 20 and the old ones from 2015 (that he has seen multiple times) will kick off the new ones that he hasn't actually watched. So if the folder has 20 shows or so, I go in and get rid of the ones that he has already seen. Not once have I ever deleted something and he questioned where it went. He doesn't know there. I will say that he has some American Horror Storys that he hasn't seen. Even though they have been there forever, I don't delete those as he may watch them someday
