When I was a kid I loved the kaft mac and cheese wheel shape because some cheese power would get stuck in the spokes and it made the best texture, especially when it was still a little al dente. I can't stand penne. I want to try the noodle that is like spaghetti but is hollow inside. A co worker told me about it the other day when I was getting chickpea rigatoni, and I was telling her I had the choice of that or penne and never in a million years would I get penne. And that's when she told me about that noodle and it looks really good. What about you?

I never met a pasta shape I didn’t like
Some shapes pair better with certain sauces, but I like them all

He calls them "pointy tubey things". I am a big fan of orichette, mafalda and good old rotini. I don't really like spaghetti, or really any of the long thin noodles. Too hard to eat! They always slap me on the chin.

I hate rotini and not huge fan of penne. I hate flavoured pastas too. That said I love everything else. If it’s pasta I will love it. I would marry pasta given the option.

For the life of me, I cannot get into orecchiette. I feel like they stick together and they don't get coated with sauce. I love me some good fettuccine or angel hair, but it really depends on the sauce too. To me, the sauce and the pasta type go together in a certain way.

I'm not a huge fan of any of the long, thin pastas - spaghetti, angel hair, fettuccine, etc.
With the right sauce/in the right dish, I pretty much like all the other pasta noodles I've ever tried! My favorite is probably tortellini.

I’m all about some bucatini. Had an amazing Cacio de Pepe at a local spot recently that was made using bucatini. It was heaven.
Typically I prefer bite size pasta. Or else it ends up on the boob shelf. Farfalle is a favorite. Love pearl (Israeli) couscous and orzo.

We always have rigatoni, farfalle and spaghetti (both regular and thin) in the pantry. I will eat other types out, but those are the only ones we cook at home. The type of sauce should be paired with the correct pasta shape.

To me, the sauce and the pasta type go together in a certain way. I completely agree. I have an armoniche pasta in the pantry that I'm looking forward to using with a creamy prosciutto and leek sauce.

I like all shapes. It is the pasta ingredients that turn me off. I like semolina wheat pastas but not colored or rice/corn pasta. Different shapes have different characteristics that make them better suited for different types of sauces or soup. Some, like the orecchiette need a bit more attention to cook properly instead of clump together. If I am cooking them I don't like to keep having to stir them to keep them separated. I like the way the names translate "penne" is pen.... like a writing pen.

I’m not really a pasta person but I prefer penne and rigatoni. For longer noddles I like fettuccini.

I prefer pastas like penne, ziti, or rigatoni over spaghetti, fettuccine or linguini, no matter what kind of sauce it's served with. I like sauce inside the pasta, not just coating the outside.

Linguini and fettuccini are my fav types.
I really don’t like the noodles that are shaped: rotelle and shell (and all the fun novelty shapes). They always seem too crunchy to me, even when cooked all the way.

My favorites are angel hair because I like how it feels to eat it, and fusilli because they hold tasty sauce.
I don’t like fettuccine or even spaghetti as much as angel hair, or farfalle or penne as much as fusilli. The shape makes the texture for me.
I miss pasta on my low carb diet, lol.

It depends what I'm eating. I love my spaghetti sauce and I really love it when it gets inside the pasta, like it does with shells & penne.

Penne and angel hair are always in my pantry. When ordering at a restaurant, I’m not picky... they are all equally glorious. It mainly depends on the sauce.

I'm not a big pasta eater, but DD13 loves pasta, and this weekend we made our version of Noodles and Co. Pesto Cavatappi. When we make it, we like it with orecchiette - which is "ear" or bowl-shaped. Pretty darn effective at catching the sauce. I also recently had Beef Stroganoff made with pappardelle and it was quite enjoyable.

I like most of it, but as others have noted most shapes work better with a particular type of sauce. We mostly always have angel hair, small and large rings, fettuccine, bow tie and three color rotini.

We were just talking about this last night with friends. I like all pasta EXCEPT angel hair; too thin & mushy ! I used to love angel hair until the last time I was at Olive Garden, it was either over-cooked or the mushed up all together is just the way it is. I don't remember it like that when I was a kid because we had it a lot. Maybe it's just been a while, but that experience has probably ruined it for me forever.
