When you use patterned paper on your cards do you use scraps, small paper like 6x6 or full size sheets.
Myself I usually check out my box of scraps first, if I don't find what I am looking for there then anything is game. I often cut into a 12x12 sheet just to get one little layer for my card. In fact if the piece that I want is in the middle of a 12x12 I cut right into the middle of it.
But my paper is bought with card making in mind.

I tend to use either paper packs I have found at Tuesday Morning (and therefore do not need to hoard for scrapping pages, since I have an entire package) or sheets from the paper stacks. I like both, but if I use sheets from paper stacks which have a white side on the back, I determine what size card I want to make, then make the envelope first, and use the scraps for the front of the card. The envelope is folded white side out, pattern in, and then I have matching card and envelope with very little waste.
I do use my leftover scraps from layouts occasionally for card making, but not that often.

I always try to use my scraps for my cards before I cut into a new sheet.

I have cut most of my paper scraps to card size and they are in a box. So when I am making a card I look through and they are already cut to size.  |

typically scraps but I was given a bunch of 6x6 papers this summer that I've been reaching for at card-making time. I rarely use a full sheet unless it's something that I was given, don't like for scrapbooking but can see using for cards....then I often do a one-sheet wonder set with it
