September 13, 2022 Update The Judge ruled in our favor and the uncle has to move all 6 people back to their original burial plots at his expense. He has 30 days to appeal. Great update. Hopefully ( but doubtfully) your uncle will have used the past month to think all of his actions over, and he won’t appeal. He was clearly in the wrong!

Hopefully everyone will be buried next to your mom and you won’t have to go through the ordeal of having her moved. Yes, at the beginning, the Judge ordered that the original burial plots could not be sold or transferred or someone else buried in them while the case is going on. All 6 will be reburied in their original locations. |

The family would still own the plots, so unless the uncle decided to try to sell them, they should still be available. It isnt easy to sell cemetery plots. |

That's excellent news! I'm so happy for you. You didn't let your uncle walk all over your family's wishes. I hope once they are all settled back in their original resting places you can finally relax after this long ordeal.

Yippee! I'm sorry you had to go thru the turmoil of this as well as the expense. If he appeals, I doubt it will change the judges ruling as your case is solid, however, I would certainly be asking for him to have to pay your attorney fees.

We will be involved with the disinterment and reburial within 3 different cemeteries, make sure a prayer is said at each site, and the original markers reset. |

I applaud the judge’s decision which appears to be the only just and fair decision. But there’s a likely chance your uncle will appeal as he’s not going to magically start thinking rationally.
Thank you for keeping us updated. This has been such an interesting thread to follow so so long. I’m sorry you’ve had to live it, but proud of you for persevering in doing the right thing.

That’s wonderful! I’ve been following this because I was so mad for you. How much do you think it will cost him to move all of them? Hopefully whatever it is it will teach him a lesson that he can’t just do anything he wants.
