Twitter has recently coined #OKTrumper
The former I was not here for, the latter, I AM!
Why?
I don't judge people for attributes they did not choose (race, gender, age, etc.)
I DO judge people for attributes they DO CHOOSE (political party, life philosophies, etc.)
As to the details, see the 30 THREADS of Trump behavior exhibited by this POTUS and administration.

To be fair, most people don't use OK Boomer for age, they use it because of what people in that age bracket say/act (mostly about younger generations). It is kind of like when people are talking about a millennial... people usually are saying something negative when they describe someone as a millennial. I had a cusp millennial explain this to me last week. As a cusp Boomer, I think I can see both sides of this. I think most of these titles are assigned because of the way people are perceived to have acted. All are diminishing what the person is saying or doing. Not saying I don't enjoy the new term though.

I think they’re both completely ridiculous. It’s just another way to belittle people for whatever reason. And I think we’ve had enough of that behavior over the past few years.

GenX: Whatever. We're at work, paying for social security we'll never receive. So we'll say what we want and you can keep ignoring us like always.

They are both dismissive insults. If you choose to use them, it says way more about you than the people you are trying to insult.

Language whose sole purpose is to demean and belittle only serves to divide and inflame. There is no place in proper discourse for such language.
What we allow today will be used on us tomorrow.

It should be a standard for everyone, not just Trump. And more so, the more power and visibility and the bigger megaphone you have. Have fun writing to Trump each time he insults someone. You'll be busy.

In most things I would completely agree with you but on this topic I'm not sure I do. My thought is that it's not worth the argument *for me.* The feelings seem pretty damn valid to me. But hey maybe that's my inner Gen X coming out.

Language whose sole purpose is to demean and belittle only serves to divide and inflame. There is no place in proper discourse for such language. What we allow today will be used on us tomorrow. That’s the point. The people targeted by OK Boomer (which - again, for the cheap seats - applies to an attitude, not an age) or OK Trumper have been dismissing and demeaning younger people, people of color, immigrants, women, liberals, LGBTQ, etc. for a long time. Turn it back on them and they don’t like it at all. Two wrongs don’t make a right? Sure. But anger about Boomerism/Trumpism is rooted in systemic and political oppression of others. Outrage about “OK Boomer” is rooted in people getting their feelings hurt. I don’t think it’s equivalent. (And I'll add that Boomers are the only generation to be offended by people saying something as innocuous as "OK." The rest of us have been called lazy, apathetic, disengaged, frivolous, entitled, etc., for decades, but let someone say "OK" and the world is coming to an end. SMDH. Everyone else can be mocked, but Boomers must be taken seriously at all times.)

You'll be busy. I agree with you there, as Stan Lee said, "With great power comes with great responsibility." Trump does not play by the usual rules of society even though he ought to. ETA: That doesn't mean we shouldn't.
You seem to think we're on opposite sides here and that is a shame. Your language continues to attempt division and you seem to have zero interest in bringing people together so we can actually have an affect for good here which can only come from bringing all sides of the political spectrum together.
You seem to delight in casting aspersions instead. You are free to do that, just know that it's not having the affect you may be hoping for.

Boomer isn’t an age, it’s an attitude. I thought it was literally an age... What age is a Boomer? Baby Boomers: Baby boomers were born between 1944 and 1964. They're current between 55-75 years old (76 million in U.S.) Gen X: Gen X was born between 1965 - 1979 and are currently between 40-54 years old (82 million people in U.S.) Gen Y: Gen Y, or Millennials, were born between 1980 and 1994.

The ok, boomer is in response to an attitude. No one would randomly say that to someone because of their age. It’s a response to a specific attitude. Yes, Boomer is the name of a generation defined by the years they were born. Ok, boomer is a response to a particular attitude they have become associated with.

In this context, it’s referring to an attitude. I get that. I still wouldn't say it because it lumps people together by their generation (which they don't choose) vs. by their attitudes (which they do). YMMV. I'm just not going to use any meme that targets people by unchosen attributes.

Ok boomer and ok Trumper aren't two equivocal things. The whole generational terms were coined by the boomer generation to market things based on preferences wherein generationally they divide. Boomer isn't just an age bracket. It is a term that has clear opinions and attitudes attached to it. And these have been driving marketing data for years. To pretend like age is the only factor here is disingenuous.
Now maybe all labels don't fit. And that's alright. But this encompasses a whole lot more than just being born at a specific time.

Considering that the last discussion I witnessed on this topic was full of people explaining that it’s the attitude, not the age, all the while complaining about how Boomers have destroyed the world for younger generations ... I am unimpressed.
It’s kind of like how fat people are the last group you can still safely mock ... you can also lump a quarter of the population together for all the fun insults, and if they complain, you can respond OKAY BOOMER. And laugh and laugh.
Nice.

Is there an extra word in this sentence? Otherwise, I’m not sure I understand. No, there is not an extra word. What does it mean not to be here for #OKBoomer, but to be here for #OKTrumper? Clearly, I am dense, because I don’t get it. I understand to not BE FOR one thing, while BEING FOR another. But don’t understand what it means with “here” in the sentence. Humor me in my stupidity and clarify, please.
