I'm fairly new to the Mixed Media world and am really enjoying it! But,I'm curious how everyone handles clean-up? I feel like all I do is make trips from the craft room to the kitchen to clean up brushes, etc. I keep a small dish with water in it, but feel like I still make many trips to the kitchen for cleaning, So, what is everyone process, or tips for the clean-up, transitioning from one color, product, etc, to another.
Thanks everyone!!!

For water based stuff I just usually end up filling the biggest container I can find with water to wash stuff out with. It's still a little annoying but not quite as much as having to go into the kitchen every five seconds.

I'm fanatical at cleaning my brushes. I know some people by cheap brushes so they won't have to clean them but I just can't do it. I don't buy real expensive brushes, but I think it is my art school training to keep my bushes clean. Even in school I was always the last person in the classroom cleaning my brushes, lol! I just have a large glass of water on my table and keep them in there until I'm done and then go clean them. It's not so bad and then your brushes will last a really long time. For paint palettes I tend to just use a paper plate and then through it away. my blog: Artful Scrapbooking

I don't like paint getting under the ferrules, which happens from time to time, but can cause damage to the bristles and brush performance. So like you, I'm there cleaning a lot haha.

Thank guys, I'm embracing the steps to the kitchen, Jack and Jill bathrooms are taking on an all new appeal for me... house shopping perhaps? lol
So, another question, when you have ink and paint on your stencils, do you wash them all when you're finished, or between uses?
Thanks again!

I wash between uses. Sometimes paint can be hard to get off when it's dry. Though some stencils are quite easy to just run under water (my palette is like that)
Ink and modeling paste I wash off right away because dried, it's a pain.
Some people don't worry about ink or paint though and just leave it

For stencils....I have a plastic tray that I fill with water and lay the used stencil in there until I'm ready for clean up. my blog: Artful Scrapbooking
