That was me.
I am not feeling well tonight and tired so early apologies if I make mistakes. Please don't be hesitant to ask further questions.
For the most part all Graphetec blades are "generic". No worries on that part you were sold a wrong or misleading product. I am not 100% sure but I don't even think Graphtec sells official blades any more and only sells the blade design to blade companies. I swore I read this several years ago on one of the UK cutter forums.
Did you get the blades with the spring? The spring needs to go on the blade. If it's not on there then the blade housing will have issues. You will get the dragging, pulling and other problems. Not trying to make you feel incompetent. The spring issue is such a huge one even for expert users. There are sellers who are selling these blades without the springs. It is still legitimate but those are for a different kind of Graphtec cutter or they fit in Roland machines. Roland machines can use Graphtec blades but they need to be designed without the spring. One more tip for the springs. Usually when you receive your package the springs are in a teeny tiny bag. It is not uncommon to overlook that little bag. It is really tiny.
If the spring is not the issue set your blade like a lipstick holder. You just want a little bit of blade sticking out. Start with that and do a test cut. I always do squares. If it's still dragging set it a little lower or higher till you get the correct length. I know this step is annoying. Once you get it set you hardly have to set it again.
I am not on Facebook but I do know there is a group for the blade housing. There are some top experts on that group. I heard they love to help and are very patient. This is so important because I do know this blade housing is very confusing and can be a bit temperamental when you are just starting to learn it. Once you get it to work the blades and the housing are amazing and you will have it for life.
Cutting for business has a better explanation for the spring than I am trying to convey-

Ligaya's is a good help and she has a lot of extra resources-
ligayatg.blogspot.com/2012/04/aluminum-blade-holder.htmlJulie Flanagan of
cuttercrafter.com/ is an expert in die cutters. Honestly, I credit her for so much of what I know & the things she taught me when I was a young girl with a brand new Wishblade. I always consider her my mentor. She use to have a Yahoo group but just moved it over to io. She has some information and resources for the CB09 blade holder.
mtc-tuts.groups.io/g/main/topicsShe also posts over at the MTC forum. It is a bit dead but some of the experts are still over there. SCAL's forum is a good resource too.
I hope that helps. I know it's long, sorry. I wanted to put in a good starter for resources. I really hope you get it to work.
