Guys like them are part of the reason why people are walking away from the church. It’s a major part of why if it weren’t for Covid I would have pulled my daughter from her school. I can only imagine how bad the nuns got after trump lost.
But they are right about one thing, There is no Republican Party anymore, it’s Magats vs everyone else. I feel bad for never-trumper or walk away from trump conservatives. They don’t have a party anymore.
We are doomed.

Well, he’s got one thing right. There certainly seem to be a lot of “sheep” out there ready to buy that load of crap hook line and sinker. SMDH. 

I'm just gobsmacked that church and politics have mixed together! I attend a non denominational church and never ever hear politics from the pulpit. I'm in Canada and I've never attended a church where that has happened. It's just so weird to me.

I was raised Catholic, and while I don’t consider myself one I know a lot who do. Most of the more devout Catholics that I personally know heavily favored Trump.

I really don’t understand it myself. I just look at these people I know who claim to be “Christians” and am truly appalled by some of the things they say and do. There doesn’t seem to be much thought given to “WWJD” anymore by that crowd.

Oh where to start. Now my kids had been there since 2010, the only newish teacher was the religion teacher. Things started to shift after trump became president. Their bigotry and racism was shining through, they usually kept their opinions to themselves until after trump came into the picture.

History teacher called students who wore black hoodies Antifa and thugs.
History teacher said Hillary was a commie, and other derogatory things.
History teacher equated trans kids to cats in cow suits, they are still cats.
History teacher said that our town would be nice if there weren’t so many black people.
The kids were told that slavery was a good thing.
Mexicans are dirty and bring drugs and crime to our country.
This goes with the elementary school para complaining about Mexicans where she lives and was mad when the school in the Hispanic community closed and those kids now attend the school she works at.
When a student expresses themselves as liberal or anti-trump they become a target for bullying from teachers and students. This includes drops in grades for no reason. My DD went from being a A student to a C/D student. Assignments would magically go missing or they would “forget” to grade them. It got to the point that the science teacher (also homeroom) would collect all of the assignments for every class and grade and copy them before handing them to the right teacher.
Religion teacher screamed at my child and gave her 3 detentions for doing the wrong homework while a Trump supporter got a weeks extension for doing the same assignment.
Comments from the history teacher, the religion teacher and the principal about Obama being from Kenya. They also refused to put his photo up in school but Trumps is still there.
A student told my DD’s BFF to go back to the country she came from with no repercussions. The teachers laughed.
A student with PTSD was continually a target. She dropped a water bottle and was screamed at, if she cried she was mocked and laughed at by teachers. She’s also very vocal about being liberal.
The history teacher was the worst of it. If we complained to the principal the history teacher would deny it. Then the kids were told to keep their mouths shut to the parents and stop getting the teacher in trouble. If you complained you were disciplined for not obeying the adults.

This list goes on.
Now DD has since graduated but the few people I talk to have said it’s gotten a lot worse. The Capitol riot was praised but BLM are terrorists.
After that, one family who has been there for 3 generations pulled their kids. And a lot of friends have left the church too, all of this has carried over into the sermons. This particular diocese as a whole is very pro-trump.

I have completely given up any kind of religion or Christianity since I saw what was happening with the trumpers. In my area at least, if they are trumpers, they also claim to be Christians. They will be the first to complain about BLM, protest, open borders, etc. etc. and then praise the lord on Sunday morning.  I have read the bible front to back several times. I have studied it (pardon the pun) religiously and I do not understand where the two go hand in hand.

Love thy neighbor, honor thy father............. does not sound to me like we should hate blacks, mexicans, or any members of the gay community. But that is what I get around here. So I just dumped it. I am sure I will make some here angry, but I think the whole thing is bull shit.  I sit now and wonder how I believed before.  I just don't anymore, and I don't know how I could be convinced otherwise. 

BTW totally not shocked that these dumbasses are from Tennessee.  Welcome to my personal hell.

The ones I know are both. 😕 From their reaction when Biden won the election, you would think the whole world was coming to a screeching halt.

I wish I had your faith/hope that we’d improve. But with the onslaught of new voting requirements I’m not that hopeful. They just need the right mix of hurdles to jump over to vote to cancel enough people from voting. And Lordy they sure are trying.
