Today is an amazing day!! My BFF is on disability/fixed income & hasn’t had a vehicle in 10 years (ex husband took hers & ruined her credit so she couldn’t get another). My husband and I were able to tell her that we are gifting her the older car that our kids drove to high school. It’s nothing pretty, but will get her around town. Ugly tears all around.

I am not going into all the details, last Sunday was not a good day , but it has been a good week and the changes in diet are working.

I played Skip Bo with my daughter, who is 7. Doesn't sound like anything exciting, but she only learned how to play recently and now that she's really "getting it", it's a lot more fun to play with her. I'm glad to be moving on from things like Candyland and Chutes and Ladders, lol.

Today the temperature was perfect and it was overcast. My favorite part of the day was taking the dog on a long walk around the local park. She gets so excited and I love to see her so happy.

My vegetable garden is coming along nicely. It's been many years since I've planned vegetables instead of flowers and it's a nice change. There were some mystery squash seeds planted so it will be fun to see what comes out.

DBF went to the grocery store with me this morning. It sounds small, but he never goes. He knew I didn’t want to go, (which I usually like to do), so he figured he’d go with me and make it easier for me.  And just a few minutes ago there were 3 hot air balloons out my window. I absolutely love them, and they’re common around here. It made me forget about my toe that I stubbed hard tonight and is in very bad pain.  |

I am packing 2 houses and 9 outbuildings and getting rid of a lot of stuff. It has been easier to let go of things of my moms than I thought, which is a good thing. I have also been anxious about moving but today I realized I’m looking forward to being in our new house.

Even though DH has taken over our food shopping, today I decided to go with him and we had nice chats in the car. As a bonus, we even went to Costco which is generally a madhouse on the weekends but it wasn't too bad.

I am not going into all the details, last Sunday was not a good day , but it has been a good week and the changes in diet are working. Last Saturday night was extremely turbulent. We were on a trip and cut it a day short driving back at 11:30PM. At the same time it felt like breakthroughs were happening. The next day I asked around and many had a similar experience. It felt good to not take it personal. I’m glad your week was good. |

I took a really good nap today. It was cool (70 degrees and overcast) outside and it just felt good to curl up to sleep with the windows open.

DH and I became engaged on this day, so it was our "engagement anniversary".  On my way to my mom's house, George Strait's "Love Without End, Amen" came on the radio, which is about the enduring love of a father. Immediately after, Dwight Yoakum, who was one of my late dad's favorite singers, came on. I changed the channel after that to a pop station and Imagine Dragons, one my dad's favorite pop bands, was playing. I definitely felt my dad was riding along with me today. |

My younger kids spent much of this afternoon splashing around a one-foot-deep wading pool, and it amazes me how much enjoyment even an 11-year-old can get out of it.

Our first grandchild was born! The only thing I’m going to be able to top this with is the day I get to meet her...hopefully in a week or two!

Today it was the second day in a row a friend of mine showed up. Yesterday was from a comment on his I got surprised with on YouTube. Today a friend mentioned his name on her fb post, thanking him for the caricature he drew of her daughter for her 22nd birthday and graduation.

On Sunday mornings I run to McDonalds and get a Diet Coke and walk home. It’s become a strange ritual that I love. This morning I stopped at our pool before home and sat on the edge with my feet in the water listening to music for about a half hour with the whole pool to myself. The sun felt amazing. I got in the pool in my running clothes and walked home soaking wet.

I was able to spend some time with my friends and my husband cooked me a delicious dinner using the new pellet grill we bought yesterday AND he stained the deck that's been needing it badly for couple years. We'll be able to set it back up this week and I can relax in my happy outdoors place again.

We dreamed for a while now to travel full time in our RV , Friday afternoon we finally put the house on the market and yesterday we got a full offer on it , sold in two days  |
