...for pain relief?
ive posted before about my back issues. Turns out that the "definitive fix " for my back issues would be a T 10- ilium instrumentation/ fusion. Big big surgery. I'd have to quit my job for a 6 month recovery time and hope to be rehired if there is a place for me after the recovery. I'm 49. Youngest is 10. I. Having to help with elderly parent issues. Busy family/ kids. I just can't see having this surgery right now. I went to a pain specialist and he offered me to undergo a spinal cord stimulator trial. If that trial worked I'd get a permanent spinal cord stimulator to help with low back and leg pain
i know that I will have to have this surgery..just trying to put it off as long as I can because of family issues right now.

I do not have one but my 33 year old son does. He started with the trial one and it worked well so he went ahead with the implant. He has not had much success. He had five surgeries last year in regards to the stimmulator and it still does not work well for him. It gives him a little relief but they just can't seem to get it to reach the area of the major pain for him. We were told many have great success with them but unfortunately he is not one of them. Just wanted to share our experience which of course is not everyone's.

You said you went to a pain specialist. Have you been to a neurosurgeon? I think maybe a second opinion from one would be in order. They specialize is nerve and spinal issues.

I've been to 2 neuro surgeons who've said the same thing They both said to see the pain specialist to see if I could buy more time before having the surgery If I didn't have to work, I'd be okay with dealing with the pain as I could take breaks to stretch or apply heat/ice
