Good Morning. Today sil and I are going to the other house to see it and do some paper sorting. Tmw we're going to a cousin's house for brunch. Tonight we're having dinner w/my dear dear friend who babysat the house for us for a few months. What are you planning? Dinner will be at a Hawaiian restaurant that sil and dh have been wanting to try. What's on your menu? I'm continuing to think of leannec and hoping that she's doing better. Wishing you gentle healing. **GypsyGirl**, how are things going w/your dh? You're also in my thoughts. May everyone enjoy a relaxing, fun day. AussieMeg, have an easy work week w/lots of fun in btwn.

I am having a quiet afternoon. We went to church as usual this morning, then came home for lunch. As DH was travelling this afternoon, we had our main meal for lunch - a creamy pasta made with some of the leftover turkey leg we had. After DH had removed the meat from the bone, I put it and some veggies and herbs/spices into my instant pot and set it to cook for an hour while we were gone. We came home to a beautiful broth, so this afternoon I made it into turkey noodle soup, also on the instant pot. So quick and easy!
Right now I am knitting on the baby sweater I’m making for my niece’s baby - just the sleeves to go. Have a lovely Sunday everyone, and healing wishes going out to all those who need them, for whatever reason.

Happy Whatever day of the week it is 4.0 :-) I love long weekends, but I'm way to OCD to now have the structure of my daily routine. I haven't checked in for several days, I briefly checked the thread a few days and even started to type a response a couple of times, only to be distracted and didn't get back. I've tried to be away from technology for a few days, between all of the black Friday ads and not wanting work to suck me in on the laptop. leannec Sending healing thoughts to you. scrapmaven enjoy the time with your SIL sueg your posts are always to peaceful to me, your vibe is awesome! **GypsyGirl** thinking of you and your DH and DD on the added stress of the upcoming holiday season. jeremysgirl Your tree cutting pics were so cool, how fun! please share the decorated tree when you're finished. It's been a whirlwind week, I had 9 yr old grandson for a few days earlier in the week, he helped me put up the tree and bake cookies, we went to a few of the local parks and overall stayed busy, We had a good Thanksgiving with my BIL and his wife, Later that afternoon DH took the puppy the ranch and I cleaned and washed puppy laundry. Friday I saw Wicked with friends. Yesterday I got together with a friend that lives on the polar opposite side of town. We went to the tree lighting ceremony in her community and assisted her church in handing out cookies. In between, I've managed to quilt two holiday throws that I had pieced the last couple of months. Today I have two throws and two full sized quilts to bind. If I can accomplish that, I'll accomplished. Yesterday, my friend put a delish turkey soup in her Insta-pot and it was ready when we returned from the tree lighting. It's a delicious turkey vegetable soup with coconut milk and lime or lemongrass. It's now on our menu for later this week. I'm thawing some beef soup bones and plan to make a beef vegetable soup for dinner and the next couple of days. I need to plan a menu for the next few days and probably do some grocery shopping tomorrow. Wishing everyone a wonderful day filled with exactly what you want it to be!!

Happy Sunday! Beautiful day here. Last night I cleared out all the leftovers, either tossing them or freezing them for later, and did a final cleaning of the kitchen. Today I plan to get some more needlepoint ornaments onto the stretcher bars as I've completed all the small projects that I take to the hospital. Also plan to finish up the current scrappy string quilt block, then put that project away for a while. It's going to be a long term thing and I've gotten a bit bored with it so time to change projects. I've had enough ham, dressing and pie to last me for quite a while so the menu will be changing up this week. Tonight I think I'll have soup and crackers. **GypsyGirl**, how are things going w/your dh? You're also in my thoughts. We are very happy with where he is currently. They are continuing to do PT while he waits for the surgery on Thursday. The tumor pain has gotten pretty bad so they have had to pull out the heavy duty meds for nighttime. He's ready to get this surgery behind him and deal with a different type of pain. DD and I are still rotating visit times with him so that most of the day he has someone to keep him company. Thanks for checking in on us!

Hey all - been so busy, I haven't really had much time to check in. Healing thoughts for the tribe members and family that needs it! Taking my son to the airport in a bit, it's been a good holiday! Have a ton of cleaning to do, but that can wait until Monday! Take care all! Oh dinner?!>?! Ummm no clue, maybe we'll grab some Italian.

Hi! scrapmaven how long will your SIL be staying? I'm hoping leannec can check in soon. We are all concerned. ❤️ Glad Mr. **GypsyGirl** surgery is soon. I'm sorry for his pain. austnscrapaddict I'll probably post pics on the craft thread. I have it almost done. I finished the angel this morning. I just need my beads to come tomorrow. I ordered some silver ones to drape on the tree. Honestly I'm pretty damn pleased with myself. 😂 Well I'm putting up all my Christmas decorations. I am trying to keep myself busy so my anxiety will be held in check. My mother is coming over here late this afternoon. I haven't really spoken with her in almost 6 months. She treated me pretty badly because of Chloe's drama. So I've just stayed silent. She finally reached out earlier in the week to say she's been doing some thinking and maybe some of her behavior was not good. 🤷 I think just that it's coming on Christmas and she's far more worried about the appearance of not being together as a family for the holiday. I still plan to not have Christmas with my family this year. I cannot imagine what she could possibly say to me that would get me to change my mind. I just have a whole history of not trusting her and this was the cherry on top of the cake. So I'm not sure I can move forward the way I'm sure she's expecting me to. Dinner will depend on how long she's here.

Happy Sunday!
DS and I just went to brunch and are waiting for the football games to start. Our Seahawks are playing today so we’re hoping for a win.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I suggested pizza but no one seemed very excited about it so we’ll see.
Hope you all have a great day!

Off to brave Costco. Dinner will be the soup we didn't have last night. Dh was out from 8am till 7:50pm putting up the outside decorations. One more things to put up (coming tomorrow - A new Snoopy inflatable). We are all ready for the holidays!! jeremysgirl Dh's mom would do that. She would get all sweet and then he wouldn't go over, just call and she would start her shit again. Hugs to you. Hope it goes well with no hiccups and she leaves in peace not you in grief

We just got back from a 3 mile walk. Lately, my sciatica has been bothering me all the way down to my calf but, after working on it with my small roller ball, it didn't act up at all. It's always a surprise when I go into the garage after DS has been here and not see his car. But now we'll get back in our routine and, before we know it, he'll be here for Christmas. jeremysgirl , thinking of you today. I haven't been in your shoes so I can't imagine the stress your mom puts you through. **GypsyGirl** , you amaze me with what you accomplish in addition to your trips to the hospital and dealing with everything emotionally. Blessings to you all. leannec , I hope you get discharged soon and can come back to the table. scrapmaven , enjoy your time with your SIL. How are you feeling? Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's.

I'm home from the hospital! My story is that I had routine bloodwork done related to my sinus infection the other day ... I go home and later in the evening I get a call from a doctor from the lab saying that my hemoglobin levels are "life threateningly low" and I need to go to the ER now! My mum takes me and in no time I see a doctor ... they admit me and give me a blood transfusion ... fun times. I have been there since then with many many pokes of all kinds and all kinds of fluids and meds sent into me ... Finally, the doctor agrees to let me go home! We still don't know what the cause was as all tests came back normal ... I wasn't bleeding anywhere ... I need to take iron supplements because it is very low ... Anyway, I missed you all!

I step away for a few days, and leannec finds herself in the hospital! I hope that the blood transfusion helps you - and good thing they did that bloodwork! I've never heard of doing something like that for a sinus infection, but good thing they did! Sending well wishes to all of you! We drove home yesterday from our Thanksgiving visit. Took about 45 mins longer than planned because of some traffic volume. Ugh. We usually drive home on Friday after Thanksgiving because of that, but we didn't want to risk anything hinky with the cold weather. Dinner tonight will be fish and rice, and pot roast for the week.

He has had 3 transfusions.

Just home from doing some errands and DH and I stopped for a small snack to get us through until supper.
Our dinner last night with friends was great. My lasagna and Caesar salad was delicious but the garlic bread was burnt. Oh well! It turned out my bestie didn’t bring the sweet potato brownies but decided in another dessert instead.
Tonight will be rechauffe lasagna and more salad.

leannec.....Glad you're cozy at home, and hope you'll recover without problems. Hoping they figure out WHY your hgb was so low. Also, how is your FOOT? **GypsyGirl**.....Sending allllll the healing thoughts to your DH! Sorry the tumor is causing worse pain, and that he has to have that surprize surgery. Many (( hugs )) to him, you, and your DD....cannot imagine how exhausted you all are! jeremysgirl....Between Chloe and your Mom, I am sending you many (( hugs )). I'm glad you and Jeremy had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving and that you didn't enable Chloe by driving her to work. I had a bad headache, ( which happens 1-3 times *almost* every day lately ), but got rid of it with massage, stretching, and Tylenol. Sat outside in the cold, sunny gorgeousness to finish a good book. Now we're going to run some errands and maybe go out to dinner. I will NOT let the hip, knee, and shoulder pain ruin our fun!!!

Oooooh Costco on a Sunday? In California? In December? You ARE brave!!!!! I got there 6 min before 10am, got a front spot, was first in line (7 lanes open all with no line) and was back in my vehicle 22 minutes later. I was shocked! BUT when I got out, the lot was full and people were trailing you waiting for your spot. Funny thing is, everyone was over in electronics, Christmas, and kitchen area. So the rest of the store was nice 🙂

leannec!! So good to hear from you and I’m glad you got sprung. Now behave yourself for a bit, okay? jeremysgirl, hugs to you and good luck dealing with your mom. You shouldn’t even have that on your plate, on top of your Chloe troubles. scrappintoee, good, go out with DH and have fun today. I have a picture to send you. Well, I was going to roast my little turkey today, but since it hasn’t gone in the oven yet, I’m thinking it won’t happen till tomorrow. But I AM working on my stuffing, so that’s a start and I won’t have to deal with it in the AM. Yesterday I made a chilaquiles casserole (basically your average breakfast casserole type dish, with diced chiles, onions, and corn tortillas ... I added bacon) for brunch and it was delish. Recipe from my friend who made it for us last week, from a Mollie Katzen cookbook … I might have mentioned it before.

Hi I had serious Dawn drama. My back really hurt. I took Dexter for a walk, put on laundry, washed the frying pan because someone who is more capable wouldn’t. I made hummingbird food, bagged up the recycle containers and paper and now I am having Mio because it’s good. Canadian Mio has no caffeine. leannec I figured anyone who gets admitted to a Canadian hospital has to be near death so I was really worried. I am glad you are on the right path to better health. Take really good care and order in whenever you can. It will make life easier.🥰❤️

jeremysgirl, here is the updated version from her website. The older version (published in The Enchanted Broccoli Forest) called for two small cans of diced green chiles rather than the fresh chiles in this version. I used the canned ones, but added some chopped fresh jalapeño bits, too. The older version didn’t call for tofu but suggested it as an option. I added cooked, crumbled bacon instead. Finally, I didn’t have have enough corn tortillas, so I added some broken tortilla chips. Could not tell any difference in the finished product. I might increase the milk and eggs by 50% next time (and will need to add to the cooking time, I guess). It didn’t seem custardy enough to me. www.molliekatzen.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipe=chilaquiles

we did a 1.5 hour drive over the hills and are at another holiday park. dh is frustrated with it.. no cell service and barely any wifi.. and too many people. he doesn't even want to go sit in the hot water at hot water beach.. just being cranky. I am doing laundry tomorrow morning and going for a swim in the pool. then to beach in afternoon.
we had a nice pub lunch.. dh had a buger and I had a salad with fried calamari in it. for dinner we had the fish (without the chips), an apple and strawberries for dessert. somehow he lost the fork. oh well. so we will see what happens. he wanted to go to somewhere more remote, but the narrow roads were getting to me.
hugs to all those who need them.
