I thought there was a thread on the movie/book, but I cannot find it via the search. I got a People magazine and this was the cover story.
Right at Christmas, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against her co-star Justin Baldoni. It looked pretty damning, as it had snippets of text messages etc - I think it alleged that he had hired a PR firm to plant stories to make her look awful/retaliation?, and she also was sexually harrassed on set.
While the film was promoted, she promoted her alcohol brand and her hair care line, which I thought was in really poor taste, and several interviews came out where she was really showing her ass. But, no one deserves to be sexually harrassed/feel uncomfortable in the workplace. What she alleged, he was a creep, and I believe all of the costars unfollowed him on social media, as well as the author came out in support of Blake. Justin was also dropped by his agency almost immediately.
But then this week, he filed his own lawsuit against the NYTimes, I assume for damages the story/lawsuit brought against him? I have read parts of his lawsuit, and he too brings receipts, and it kinda looks like BL was pushing him out as producer of the movie, really tried to take control.
I do think both things can be true, she felt unsafe, AND she also tried to push JB out of the film/take control. But something seems really off - and the more I read, the less I believe her side of the story.
I watched the movie over the weekend - it's pretty awful and they have ZERO chemistry together (which I totally understand).
Just wondering if other peas were following this drama, which is actually more interesting than the movie/book LOL.

I have been following it, and don't know who to believe. I think it was just 2 people that totally did not communicate well. He was the director, and I think she wanted more control. I also read the books, and there has been talk that Blake wants the rights to the 2nd book, which justin already has, along with the 1st. But how is that going to work? yea, Ryle isn't in the 2nd book very much, but he's still a part of it. I suppose they could re-cast. Some of the clothes choices in the 1st move were way out there, and people commented on them from the start, and putting it on that it was Blakes choices. It will be interesting to see how it plays out for sure.

From what I have read I tend to believe her story over his. But I haven’t dug in too deeply.

In my opinion, the "receipts" brought in her lawsuit outweigh everything. Sharing porn on the set, adding sexual scenes not in the original script, etc. Nope, no excuses. You don't do that at your JOB.
People can believe she is a total bitch and hey maybe she is but that is nothing compared to what he is accused of. So what if she tried to push him out as producer? It's my understanding they were co-producers on the movie.
I do believe there are 3 sides to this story but again, Justin deserves to be shunned in Hollywood.

Also, didn’t the publicist who apparently was working with Baldoni to “bury” Blake Lively verify that the text messages were from her?

If I had BL platform and influence and my Costar/producer was making my life hell I’d do what I could to push them out too so I could finish the project in peace. 🤷♀️
Someone trying not to work with you without breaking the contract is not an excuse to sexually harass someone. In order for that to be the unacceptable & lame excuse that he is offering as to why he was a creep you’d have to prove it was prior to your first creepy incidence. But even so it’s still not an excuse to sexually harass someone.

I tend to believe her over him. I think he's trying to play damage control but the things he's accused of are disgusting.

As we all know, being a bitch is not an excuse for sexual harassment. Why do men often turn to sex to ‘punish’ women? Or if a woman is mean to them then they are somehow entitled sexually? I don’t get it but it plays out irl all the time. Like telling a guy no in a bar and they think you owe them something. I just don’t understand the mentality if that

It seems like literally everyone else involved in the project from the other actors to Colleen Hoover to even his former agent side with Blake. I have no idea what really happened but the lack of support for him speaks volumes.

He sounds like a horrible man.

I hope the lawsuits go to trial. With lots of depositions and testimony made public. FWIW, I haven't seen the show or read the book, but my very limited understanding and exposure to the dispute has me leaning hard to believing her. I have no doubt there was a power struggle over control of the project, but the smear campaigns take things to a whole different level. Original thread The search function here sucks, but this came up for me with a google search "2peas Blake Lively".

I have no idea what really happened but the lack of support for him speaks volumes. I completely agree, and if what he is accused of happened, it is gross and he's done. Supposedly he fat shamed BL and Ryan Renoylds (her DH) blew up at him - more is coming out. I have been following it, and don't know who to believe. I think it was just 2 people that totally did not communicate well. He was the director, and I think she wanted more control. It will be interesting to see how it plays out for sure. I also thought it was interesting to learn he had rights and had been developing the movie for 5 years and had complete support of Hoover, but now it seems she doesnt support him at all. I thought her recipts were pretty damning, but now he is saying they were all taken out of context. And his lawsuit has some pretty interesting receipts too. I also think the whole intimacy coordinator and a contract she sent over after the strike before they went back was pretty damming, bc it was all starting with "NO MORE.... " I dont remember reading about him showing her porn, but in his suit, he claims Jamie Heath showed her a video of his wife's childbirth to discuss the scene in the movie, and that was the noises? However, why would he need to show a woman who gave birth 4x? That makes no sense to me. So I do hope this goes to trial and it all comes out. I was really disgusted by him, but it also sounds like she is a nightmare to work with (not that she deserved to be harrassed!!!!).

I don't know who is telling the truth. But wasn't Ryan Reynolds on set all the time? So this guy did all that right in front of her husband?

Nothing says only saints get harassed. In the end, I hope the truth comes out.

With the world we live in and the other stories that have/are coming out, in general, about how women are treated in Hollywood - I will believe the person who was assaulted first.

I believe Blake. The emails and texts alone are enough.
This does seem to somewhat explain why this movie was so terrible. Casting was horrible. I didn't know Baldoni was the director when I saw it and after I found it, it was made sense how he got the role. In the book, Ryle is supposed to be so hot and so charmasmatic that Lily can't resist him. I don't find this man remotely attractive. Blake's wardrobe was so try hard quirky that it distracted from every scene.
I really really hope Verity isn't ruined. That is my favorite Colleen Hoover book!

The fact that Justin Baldoni wants a jury trial seems like he has the receipts to back his claims up. I’m not sure who I believe at this point but in my 50 years of life I’ve learned that you can’t always believe the women. Sad but true.

I absolutely do NOT believe him. Agents don't drop a guy for nothing. Where there's smoke, there's fire. He's guilty.

I’m not sure who I believe at this point but in my 50 years of life I’ve learned that you can’t always believe the women. Sad but true. The type of case she first filed is a discrimination case for the sexual harassment. She filed it in California and by the laws in California it is required to be filed with the CCRD first. Then after the CCRD review it, it can either go to court after or be denied. That process takes time. He filed his case as a way to publicly create his story while she is required to wait for the CCRD process to take place. It doesn’t mean anything except, it is a different type of case. He and his lawyer are sure doing a great job of misleading the public about it though. Which imo doesn’t give him any more credibility than her, but less It is probably why she filed the 2nd complaint in NY

Before this thread, a couple-few months ago....there was a previous thread in regards to her. I didn't know much about her then...but I've seen several interviews and reads several articles about her reputation of being a mean girl bitch. I've also read about the current drama.
I don't care for her and find her very off-putting. Especially the interview I saw where was extremely rude and condescending to a reporter. She reminds a lot of Megan Markle...both of think of themselves as top tier "A-list" in regards to Hollywood and celebrity status and in *my* opinion they are low on the "B-list"....actually I think Megan Markle might be on the "D list". I also think Mrs Lively thinks she rates higher than others, because she is best friends with Taylor Swift. With the above said....I think her story is true, and he sexually and verbally harassed her. He should be held accountable and liable, and he should compensate her monetarily for the abuse she suffered.
He comes across and presents forth as an arrogant conceited jackass with control issues. His treatment of women is horrifying and inexcusable.

I thought I had commented on this thread originally, but I guess not.
Now that some time has passed + way more info has come out.....where's everyone standing now?
I originally believed Blake Lively at the time all this came out. Now? I don't think I believe her at all. It seems to me that Justin has come with some serious receipts and IMHO this is going to turn into a Johnny Depp/Amber Heard type of trial.
