I was afraid to look at Salt & Sea for fear I'd want it all, but those colors are not the type I use in sea/beach/boat/ship pics, so I'm safe!

Salt and Sea - yawn...
I can't stand to see one more line with a vintage VW van.

It's a no for me. I don't care for the colors. Why does every beach collection, have a vw van? Seriously, how many scrapbookers own a vw van or rent one for visit to the beach?

Am I the only one who expected red white and blue and instead got the dreaded turquoise and pink? Not even slightly tempted by any of this

I really like how they've got the two different sizes of tags on the tag paper and I like the wave paper, although I think it would be more useful in blue than turquoise. Overall this is ok but not a theme I need.

I'm a pass on both of these. I haven't trusted PP since I bought a collection (can't remember what it was) and the paper was shiny.

Overall this is ok but not a theme I need. I like Salt & Sea, just don't need any more beachy supplies. I agree about the tags. Wish the back had blank tags in these colours & sizes. Or maybe a separate paper, cuz I like the orange with the fronds on the back of the tags. I over all like the colours here. That muted coral is more pleasing to me than out & out pink.
I was confused by the Lucky Cat collection name, I guess cuz I just finished a LO about a kitten. Am i completely out of the loop? Is this a new trend? Or another PP collection to meet a niche market?

It looks like I'm in the minority, because I love Salt & Sea. I scrap a ton of beach photos, though, so it is really useful for me. That color combination is used a lot, I will admit, but the papers are really nice and I like the tags.

When will companies learn that epoxy ALWAYS yellows eventually. Chipboard or even flat stickers would be better than using epoxy.

I don't like Salt & Sea overall... too specifically 'beach-y' for me. But I do like the colour scheme & those round epoxy embellishments. Will try to get those.
I've already pre-order a collection of Lucky Cat. It is going to be perfect for some layouts I have of the Japanese Garden in Vancouver.

Lucky Cat is an incredibly odd choice of theme. When so many other are missed…THIS is what get produced?

That was my first thought, too, for Lucky Cat (perhaps honoring Lunar New Year).
Salt & Sea may be the first PhotoPlay I go for since the book line, which I adored (Book Club was the name, I think). I know it’s a re-tread color-wise, but it’s one I’m okay with, and I like that something in the illustration style feels unique, despite some of the icons being typical. What I like best, though, are the turquoise ocean waves paper and the green understated palm trees paper. Not sure why, but I’m vibing with those.

Agree; the color palette looks dated (& exactly like the beach supplies already lurking in many scrappers' inventories, which they may were hoping to avoid using by shopping new beach collections )!

Note Photoplay & Colorplay logos (appearing in the upper right hand corner of collection kits) are the same in font, style, subtly, & not easily distinguishable at a glance (e.g. Photoplay - Charmed & Colorplay - Runner's High). The problem is that (sports) collections branded as Colorplay, which is printed in-house using glossy papers, are listed as Photoplay (rather than correctly as Colorplay) at online retailers (e.g. Runner's High at ACOT, SB.com). UGH!

Lucky Cat is an incredibly odd choice of theme. When so many other are missed…THIS is what get produced? My nephew is going to Japan and travel collections always feature Big Ben, The Eiffel Tower, etc. Very European-centric. I was thinking "why don't they have something Asian in them?" So I think this actually does fit a market. Asia is neglected usually, except by Reminisce. Besides that, I love sushi. And the cat paper would be nice for scrapping my cat- something different. So I bought it.
