I went in there at the end of last week. I was surprised at how empty it already is considering the discounts weren’t great. I did however buy some stuff!! They now have a two yard minimum.

I can't think of anything I need other than zippers so it's not worth the 30 minutes each way drive for me.

That’s what the thread racks looked like at the NEW one near me that, when just opened in November, was previously fully stocked. 😩 I went there with DD a few days ago and she commented that the whole store just looked sad because it was in total disarray. When we went in November shortly after this store had opened (they closed the old location and moved to a brand new space in the same mall) it looked just like the JoAnn’s commercials that had been running on TV a couple years ago: totally stocked, everything neat and orderly, everything bright and clean and new.

I went last week. At that time most things were 30% off. A lot of the acrylic yarn that is used use for blankets is gone or really picked over. There is not a lot of the cotton yarn for dishcloths left either, but I did buy some from what was left. I have no plans for blanket making, so I am just letting that go. I found it very sad to be in there. As I walked through the store I thought of all the projects I have done over the years. I am not a Hobby Lobby shopper and Michael’s is about 90 minutes away. I have decided that I’ll order from Wool Warehouse when I want to make a blanket.

They have tons of fabric but I'm not a sewer. All the scrapbook *pads* were gone. Most of the crafting stuff, most stuff was picked over but there were lots of sticker, was only 10% off. I bought nothing.

Ours you can't really tell they are closing. But the discount is 20% off and thats more expensive than when they were on sale when they weren't closing. Also, the two yard miminum for fabric automatically cut me out from buying fabric.

Mine has been picked clean, and the discounts aren't that good. Half the staff quit once the closing was announced, so the cutting counter was running on 2 people, one of whom was the manager who was running between the counter and the front to put out fires. I waited almost 2 hours to have fabric cut. The stack of fabric behind the workers was HUGE, they literally didn't have anyone to put it back so they just kept making piles behind them after they cut. This was right after it was announced that they were closing.
I went back last weekend on a whim and there was very little left, yarn has totally been cleaned out same with thread. Lots of fabric left and clearly they have people helping to cut as the piles weren't that big, but the markdowns are also not that big.

It's sad. They have signs up that they're hiring so you can get an additional % off their closing deals. HAH! It's a giant store and they had one cashier and one person cutting fabric. They also had one "manager" walking around, but that was it. It was nuts.

I overheard the workers talking that the liquidation company decided not to increase the percentage off because everything was selling so well at a lower discount. cadoodlebug the paper crafting section has gotten smaller over the years at my Joann's. I did glance at it though and it was 10%. That is nothing. I didn't but anything either.

Our store has literal boxes and boxes of fabric bolts that they have no where to put out. They are included in the sale and all still have the original plastic on them. You cannot get a buggy through the fabric section without tripping over the full boxes of fabric.

Completely empty! I was shocked! The aisle of scrap paper was mostly in tacked. It was ridiculous how much people bought at 20%. Maybe if they shopped there more frequently, we wouldn’t be losing yet another brick and mortar store.

Ours hs looked sad prior to closing announcement, now only 2 people work the store, 20% off 2 yd min. When closing was first announced, it was a 1 yd minimum, 20%. My did went first week and there were no Gingher scissors in the store.

Maybe if they shopped there more frequently, we wouldn’t be losing yet another brick and mortar store. My store always had a lot of shoppers. I think people are stocking up because they know it isn’t going to be easy to get the items we got there. Seriously, I don’t know how I am going to fill this gap.

My did went first week and there were no Gingher scissors in the store. I got a backup pair of Gingher 6 inch applique duckbill scissors when I was there last Monday. I'm doing more applique and the Ginghers I got a year ago are SO much better than all my other applique scissors. Not much of a discount but grabbed them while I could.
Both Joanns closest to me were over 2 hours away. I hadn't been to the one in El Paso in 12 years, so surprised the tiny Joanns had moved to a MUCH bigger location not long after I had been there. Still TONS of fabric left but out of the particular prints I wanted more of. I got some things that I'm sure were NOT in the store, were from the online Joanns. They said they were cleaning out the warehouse and no more online ordering from Joanns. I was just at the other Joanns 40 miles west of that one last October and lots of stuff I'd never seen in the stores. I spent way too much but fortunately got a few things I did need and happy to get now and not have to order from somewhere.
I did get some fabric with Dachshunds and other dogs on it and some paw print cotton fabric and purple with white paw print fleece. Great thing is I was able to get the bobbin case I needed for a sewing machine. Some spots were just cleaned out but others had a lot. They did say they were getting shipments from the warehouse every day. I used to do a lot of ordering from Joann, mostly stuff not in the stores. The last few years, I've been able to go almost once a year. So sad there isn't a big fabric store any more. I AM fortunate to have a decent local fabric store but it was nice to have a very large fabric store I could get to go shopping at in one very long day and lots of driving...

Ding Dong me can't remember if they were 30% or 40% off. If you want to shoot me a list, I'm happy to shop and ship. My brother is living in a house where he has a dedicated craft room and across his main wall he has the second of the two sets of text you designed for him. He also still uses the pop up with the other set and it has held up wonderfully. 😁

The store was a total dumpster fire.

I may venture to Joann's if DH and I go grocery shopping in that town this week. Otherwise I can find them online. It's just for bags when I sew. I haven't sewn in quite some time- stupid Animal Crossing and DuoLingo Italian are sucking up my time these days. I did have to get out my machine on Sunday to hem baseball pants for my DS, I think I did a pretty darn good job on it!

I'm too sad to go ours...and I don't need anything at the moment. Also, ours had horrible fluorescent lights that flash and aren't good for folks like me with vestibular migraines.

Some few things in my JoAnn's are completely gone and other things are barely touched. I was in there just now. I keep popping in every 4 or 5 days waiting to pick off some kind of bargain. But with the cotton fabric only 20% off, it's not a sale. It would regularly go on sale for 40% off. So why buy it at 20? And I'm waiting for the baking pans to go on sale. They are only 10% off right now. When I could have bought them with a coupon two months ago. Like I said, I go every 4 or 5 days. The only change since my last time in there is that the fleece is all now down to 40%. But no one wants it. (I stand by my thoughts that the overemphasis on fleece led partly to JoAnn's downfall. Who the $%&@ needs half a fabric section of fleece?

I'll be headed to one next week - it used to be the only place that had a decent selection at decent prices. I'm curious to see how the papercrafting section looks.

I have not gone to the closest one to me (it’s small), but I was at a mall over the weekend and went to one there. It really depended on the department —yarn and floss were picked over, but the fabric section still looked pretty full. Nothing I buy there was more than 20% off, and I don’t really need anything, so I didn’t buy anything. At 50%, I would do some stocking up, eg.

I went to one over the weekend. Nothing was more than 30% off, there was tons of stock, a 3 yard minimum on fabric and a very long line at the checkout. I left with nothing.

I can do mix/match colors on the bags. They’re funky so it would work perfect.

What I really like is that if I need a weird length I don’t have to buy a really long zipper only to have to cut a big piece off. Putting the zipper pulls on is a bit fiddly but there’s a free zipper jig STL on Thingiverse that’s supposed to make that task easier.

I really wanted some muslin or some type of plain cotton. Nope all gone!
