I swear how I just wasted an evening watching this horrific movie. It could have been a good one but noooo … what happened to M. Night Shyamalan? This was just terrible. Did anyone watch? Did you like?

Is this the one with Josh Hartnett? If so, I saw it a while ago when it was on another streaming service.
It was awful. I looked it up after and it seems like it was a blatant vanity project for Shyamalan to try and launch a singing career for his daughter.
ETA: Also kind of weird to see Hayley Mills in it. I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything since the 80’s, with the sequels they did to The Parent Trap.

If Shymalan is involved, it's going to suck. He hasn't had a good movie since the first one and I can't understand why people continue to give him money to make new projects.
He's simply awful.
I never forgave him for the Snarfs and the Scrunts in Lady in the Lake or any other dumb movie he's ever done. I think that was the last one I even tried to watch. It's like he has decent ideas, but the follow through is just pure crap.

I made the mistake of seeing this in the theater last summer and it was awful. Awful acting and just a stupid movie all around.

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I was interested...until I saw that it was a Shymalan film. I took a pass.

It's like he has decent ideas, but the follow through is just pure crap. Exactly.. the 'idea' is really good. Concert, serial killer, action, possible twist, etc. Then it's like okay lets slap this together and see what happens. I didn't realize that the singer was his daughter.. I should have known. |

So I was telling my daughter about how bad it was.. and she explained me this:
It was supposed to be 'bad'. it was a parody, I guess. I told her, then they should promote it that way, cause everyone I talked to (here) doesn't know this weird fact. Her hubby is a big fan of M. blah blah blah, and that is how she explained it. I'm like it was still bad and I hated that I wasted my night on it.. lol..

It was pretty bad. I read that he didn’t want to make dark and scary movies anymore when his kids were old enough to watch them. I’m not sure how making a movie about a serial killer that starred his daughter goes along with this new way of thinking.
