I can't see a pattern, either. I'm not a paper piecer, but my sis loves it and gave me a pattern she has made to get me into it. (hasn't worked yet, but maybe someday..)

I bought a block of the month several years ago that is paper piecing, and I didn't realize how much I would be unsuccessful at that skill! The quilt kit sits, unopened, in a box waiting for me to fail.

My friend Bee has tried to teach me paper piecing more than once. Complete fail. And I feel like it wastes sooo much fabric, which also bugs me. But a lot of it is how my brain works/doesn't.

I do enjoy foundation piecing. There is a way to do it and not use paper. I think it's with freezer paper. I did that once. It was ok, but seemed to be more time consuming.
