How is everyone doing today?
What do you have planned today?
I'm feeling a bit better. So, dh and I will go to Yoga. Then I have voice practice and a puzzle.
Dinner is rechauffe enchiladas for dh. What's on your menu?
naby64 may this weekend be healing and comforting for you.

Happy Friday (finally!)
I didn't sleep well last night so I'm really dragging today. I'd love to take a sick day but I've had to use a lot of days off for my parents and I have travel plans this summer. It's a very light day anyway so I just plan on taking it easy.
I've got to pick up my grocery order at noon today and dinner tonight will be a sausage pasta. I made a homemade sausage pizza last night and have leftover sausage so this will be a good way to use it up.
Mom's blood sugar was really good overnight so hopefully they've got that dialed in with the new protocol. She met with the facility doctor yesterday and he was trying to work out a new protocol to keep her more even.
My dad is moving into my sister's house this weekend. His lease isn't up until July but we don't like him being alone so she got her guest room all ready for him. Eventually we'll split the time between houses but I need to get my spare room situated first.
Hope you all have a great day!

I'm going to try AquaFit this morning ~ just taking it easy. If it's too much, I'll sit in the hot tub! Dinner will be Chinese Chicken Salad. Yesterday scrappintoee mentioned the family Christmas photo I posted that cut most of our dachshund out of the picture. This was Christmas 1955 when he was our Christmas present. TGIF!!!!

Tearisci , it sounds like progress is being made w/your parents. Will your dad's bedroom furniture stay in his room at your sister's house. That could really help w/the transition, especially the bed. I apologize that I'm constantly overstepping, but I want the best for all of you.
cadoodlebug, that's a great photo. What a sweet doggie. It sounds like you had a very good childhood.

I don't think we'll be able to move his furniture into either of our homes. I was going to put his bed in my room but there wouldn't be room for a queen size bed and his recliner in the room. I'm sure we'll have lots to figure out before his lease is up but for right now, the goal is just to get him around people more.

ntsf , I am not going to read fast, anymore. I quickly read, "I was about to post and throw dog poop". LOL and EW. You'll love the Panama Canal cruise. I'll bug you for details. I've been on many cruises and that was by far, my favorite place. I'm excited for you. I'm sorry to hear that your poor doggie isn't doing well. ((((HUGS)))). cadoodlebug , it's really heartwarming to hear your stories about childhood.

I have wanted to see the panama canal for 20 yrs at least.. after reading "The path between the seas".. a massive history of how that canal was built..
I think when the dog went out for a quick pee.. he ate grass or something. at least we caught it and it didn't go on the couch or dh's lap. (we do have a cover on the couch)..

Good morning! In the office for my half day Friday and trying to get the new directory printed. No one else is in on Fridays so it's nice to just sort of do what I need and then do what I want. I keep looking out the window and it is dreary looking. And hot. It was 79 degrees walking out of my house at 8am. With humidity. I had forgotten what it was like but as I walked out of the house and hit the porch, warm wet air hit my face. Not looking forward to this summer. I have a graduation to attend tonight. The MoM baby is walking tonight. We have watched him grow up. My DD babysat both he and his sister. So I am going to the outside grad that may or may not happen tonight. We are expecting a band of storms and they really don't know when or if they will hit our area. There are contingency plans but all will be unknown until 30 minutes before the ceremony. I am sort of waffling on my trip up to the river. Storms are uncertain in the area I will have to drive to. I had put in 1 destination that made the drive 2.5ish hours. After talking to his friend last night, to get to where the river is it is now 3 and something hours. I also feel it is only important to me for it to be this weekend. Could I have reached out to his best friend? Yes. But he also knew I wanted to do this and he didn't reach out to me. He is the main planner of this weekend. My DH had talked about the place they have stayed the last couple of years and that there was a little walkway down the back of the property to the area they brought floats to and had a float parade. I was sort of hoping to drive to that spot. Walk down to the river, do my thing and leave. If anyone of the guys wanted to walk down with me, then cool. If not, understand also. But the spot I was given directions to is another 15 minutes away. And not knowing the area, not sure where to park, get to the water, a lot of unknowns. Yes, I am a strong, independent woman but I just wanted a side to lean on if needed. Of course, this is not the talk I have been giving out so there is that. I am just going to watch the weather and see how that bodes and may call it all off at the last minute. Tearisci glad to hear that your mom had a good night. I hope that your dad settles in quickly to his new surroundings. It will be an adjustment for everyone. what a cutie! I have loved seeing your pictures. I hope you are able to take the class. Even though, the hot tub does sound nice. did I tell you all the sale of mother in law's. house is done and the money is in the bank YAY!!! That is very good news. I love to hear about all your travel destinations. They sound wonderful. I have just seen something about dogs eating grass and what to give to them to keep them from doing that. My oldest pup has been having GI issues for a few months now. When I was walking around the yard with them the other day, I noticed he was eating grass. Now I wish I could remember what I saw, where I saw it so I could go back to it. I have no idea on dinner tonight. With the graduation ceremony at 7:30, I should eat before but I know I will be uncomfortable sitting in the heat on a full stomach. I may just eat a late lunch. I have leftovers from dinner last night and I may just warm them up around 3 and go from there. The pizza place that I love is staying open late for customers after graduation. I may just order a small pie from them. But I can't think of putting tomato sauce on my stomach so late. So you see the conundrum. I hope everyone has a good day. Blessings and hugs for those that need them.

Good evening all, I had a rough night so I slept late and was a bit slow getting going, but since then all has been fine. I headed into the city to go to as Asian grocery and the main food markets, stopping by my GP on the way to pick up the referral I need to schedule my next MRI. I don’t need the appointment until when I get back from Australia but want to schedule it ASAP as I have a small window between my return and my Neurosurgeon appointment. I’ll call radiology on Monday. At the food market I picked up all sorts of dips and antipasto bits for our lunches over the weekend and a Vietnamese coriander plant as the garden center didn’t have any on the weekend. The Asian store has added dumplings and naans to our freezer - we ate the last of the naan on hand with our dal last night. I also had lunch in the city and chatted with a lovely American couple who are touring around for a couple of weeks. There are so many tourists here already - it is going to be crazy by mid-June! naby64 - you are in my thoughts this weekend. (((Hugs)))) Dinner tonight is pizza. I have a kit to make it and lots of toppings, but I am still tempted to send DH out to pick up ready made ones from the Italian place down the street.

So, dh and I will go to Yoga This sounds like fun. I'm imagining me trying to talk Jeremy into yoga. Mr Scrapmaven is far more enlightened. My dad is moving into my sister's house this weekend. His lease isn't up until July but we don't like him being alone so she got her guest room all ready for him. Eventually we'll split the time between houses but I need to get my spare room situated first. I'm glad you are getting this taken care of. I know your mom was the primary risk, but he probably shouldn't be alone either. did I tell you all the sale of mother in law's. house is done and the money is in the bank!!! Yes! That was a long time coming. I am just going to watch the weather and see how that bodes and may call it all off at the last minute. You do whatever feels comfortable to you. There will be other opportunities if this is not the time. Big Hugs! We had one helluva storm last night. It just blew right across lake Michigan and got the west side and the center of the lower peninsula really bad. littlemama is over on the east side and maybe she can confirm that I've heard it wasn't that bad by the time the storms got there. We have power but the people across the street do not. A huge tree fell on the fence between my neighbor's yards, I'll post a pic. There was a tornado touch down near Jeremy's work. He said it was a minefield getting there and then no power. They were still able to load the trucks and send him on his way. And they are saying tonight we are in for it again. Fingers crossed it's not as bad as last night. I am tired. The storm blew in around 10 and then by 12 it was almost over. So it kept us up. I need a nap. I don't know what's for dinner tonight. We will have to play it by ear. I have no weekend plans. Jeremy was supposed to golf tomorrow but his tournament was cancelled due to rain. I wanted to work on the garden but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate.

jeremysgirl. That storm blew through western NY about 6:00 am today. Good thing Harper had already gone outside. Because about 10 minutes after I brought her in, she started hiding cause she heard the thunder. The lightning was amazing.

We got that storm at 2 am. Once I take my hearing aids out at night, I don’t hear a thing. I didn’t hear the thunder but the lightening woke me up with the flashes in the window. Walker was hiding under the bed.
Went to WalMart for a grocery haul and I needed a birthday gift for grandboy #2 who turns 8 tomorrow. His parents have rented the ice at the arena and invited his whole hockey team to play a game. They even hired a referee.
DH is going to an ATV rodeo tomorrow. There are lots of races to participate in and he’s very excited. He’s got his machine all tuned up and ready to go.
Supper will be roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, turnip and corn. I’ve invited my mom over to eat with us so I need to go pick her up.

Happy Friday dinner friends! jeremysgirl Those were some strong storms, Glad you are ok. Looks like a mess to clean up though, no fun! naby64 I hope the graduation isn't derailed due to the weather. Sending peaceful vibes for your weekend- whatever you decide to do! ntsf I also enjoy hearing your travel plans. Exciting! sueg I'm glad your planning ahead for your MRI and Neuro appt. July will be here before you know it. Along with your precious new little one! Tearisci I'm glad to hear your mom had a good night and there is a new protocol her keeping her levels steady. Sending good vibes for your dad's move, I'm sure it will be a major adjustment for all, but he is so lucky to have you and your siblings. I've had a busy morning, we didn't hear a word yesterday on my car being ready or not and getting ahold of a living breathing person on the phone isn't possible, so after a 30 min call that lasted almost 2 hours, DH and I went to the dealer to find out the status. It isn't ready, but they did give me a loaner, DH is now headed to the ranch and I'm going to start the cleaning process soon. I told DH this morning that I need some quality time with my craft room this weekend. The only weekend plans I have is to go to my sons MIL's for a pool day tomorrow to celebrate Mothers Day since they were out of town last weekend. Dinner is totally undecided- I'll either order in or see what falls out of the fridge/freezer for dinner. Maybe popcorn. :-) Wishing everyone a great day and weekend ahead!

Glad to hear scrapmaven and cadoodlebug are feeling a bit better and Tearisci that your mom and dad are hopefully seeing some good days ahead. Thinking of naby64 as you decide what your weekend will hold. I supply taught at our small local school today - Phys Ed - I had 15k steps by 2pm! The kids were great too! Did a bit of gardening with DSO when I got home. He’s the head gardener and I’m the assistant (he loves gardening and I love the yard to look nice so I happily help but don’t really enjoy the process) supper was our favourite food box meal, Panko crusted chicken with carrots and potato wedges. (The secret is Montreal steal spice!) It’s really simple and we could easily create it at home but he orders it every time it’s available lol. I’m sure we’ve had it at least 3 weeks in a row. Going to organize photos for a bit for the 2Peas online crop this weekend and then settle in for hockey tonight. Hopefully the Leafs will get their head in the game or face elimination. Wednesday’s game was depressing to watch - no oomph! TGIF!

cadoodlebug I love that photo, so cute! You and your sister must have been so excited to get a puppy for Christmas. How did your parents keep it a secret? Well, we're two weeks out from winter and today we are finally getting some rain. It's so dry here, we desperately need a good soaking. Sounds like a good excuse to stay inside and sit on the couch all day. Except I have to go watch my nephew and DD's partner play football today. Time to get out the winter coat!

naby64 there’s no urgency to do this so if it’s not feeling right you can always delay. Outside graduation in the humidity does not sound enjoyable. cadoodlebug your pictures were so cute yesterday. ntsf your travel sounds amazing. Congratulations on the house sale. Poppy had to be at the groomers by 7 this morning then I immediately went walking with Juliet & dd. Dd1 and I had an arancini cooking class at lunchtime. We made some stuffed with lamb ragu, speck and smoked mozzarella. The speck were the best. I was skeptical of the lamb ones. They were ok. We currently have a tornado watch. Luke is staying over because dd doesn’t feel like she’s in labor but she doesn’t feel good. If no baby this weekend she’s getting induced Monday. Since I “cooked” at lunch we ordered a pizza. Neisey how did your hair turn out the other night? scrappintoee any MRI results?

cadoodlebug I love that photo, so cute! You and your sister must have been so excited to get a puppy for Christmas. How did your parents keep it a secret? He was born 9/13/55 so the breeder kept him for 3 months. My dad picked him up Christmas Eve after we went to bed. The next morning, we could hear bells coming from the kitchen and daddy said *I wonder what that is?*. We ran into the kitchen and there he was with a big red bow with bells on it. When all the kids went outside with their presents ~ dolls, bicycles, etc. we took Jokar who was named after us. Joy and Karla. He was well traveled as we were a Navy family but he was a Hawaiian boy at heart!
