**** Spoilers to mid-Season 6 *****
I'm trying to catch up and finish Season 6 so I can start watching "live" for the first time when Season 7 starts!
I've really enjoyed the past 2 seasons when they are at Alexandria. I am midway through Season 6 - the walls have collapsed, zombies everywhere, and that stupid kid has shot Carl in the eye. This is the episode where we first hear the name Negan, (and get to see some awesome grenade-launcher badassery by Daryl.) In some of the recaps that I read they mention that "Negan makes the Governor look cuddly."
Here's my question: For some reason, I can cheerfully watch people get their entrails ripped out by a zombie, but human-on-human violence REALLY upsets me. I'm still traumatized by the slaughterhouse scene at Terminus. If it's more like that, I'm afraid I might give up. So would you say that this human violence escalates to a much uglier degree than we've seen yet, by the end of Season 6? (Please no spoilers, even though I'm pretty sure I know the bad news!) Thanks for your thoughts!

If that bothers you, you will not be able to handle the end of season 6 or the beginning of season 7.
Or really anything at all that involves Neegan.
Like just the preview for season 7 was almost more than I can handle.
It will be much, much worse than Terminus. So much worse.

By the slaughter house scene, do you mean what the termites did or what our guys did to the termites?
I'd say the human on human violence gets a little more intense in that it is up close and personal more often rather than shots from afar.

I'm not sure how to answer your question without a spoiler. The human/human violence will be getting worse if that answers it well enough.

There is some very disturbing human on human violence coming up (from where you've stopped). It's in the same vein as the church scene from the season before - when they drew those Terminus cannibal people into the church.
There is a very VERY disturbing ending scene in the last episode, but it's a cliffhanger, so it's more implied than observable. The assumption is it will be rehashed in much more gory detail this season. (I was vague - no characters mentioned. It's more in the spoiler box for the benefit of other accidental readers.)

I don't think there's anyway to get around the violence. I am sure I will be cringing during the season premier lol but I couldn't not watch I love the show way too much!!
That's great you'll be caught up! Hope you will join the thread I do each week on Sundays we have a great time discussing the episode and theories of what we think is going to happen!

Oh, bummer. Thanks so much for the info. I really hate to give up on the show, but I just don't think I can handle it. freecharlie, i'm talking about the "baseball bat to the back of the head at the trough" scene. I think that was the single most upsetting thing for me in the whole series

I think that was the single most upsetting thing for me in the whole series what might work is to read the summary of each show before you watch it and that way you are more prepared. I had to do that when I first started watching because while I loved the show, I was having walkers invade my dreams. It made it easier knowing what was coming. Since I started the show late, a lot was out there and knowing didn't affect my enjoyment of the show at all. However, as you probably know, season 7bis supposed to be super intense. The cast says they have been disturbed by what happens. I do think they are kicking it up a notch and the terminus scene will have absolutely nothing in Neegan.

Geez, can't we just have a nice pleasant little show about flesh eating zombies?

You know what bothers me?
When the animals die.
Walkers eat humans? Fine Humans killing humans (except those characters I love)? Not a problem.
Kill a horse, goat, or dog? I hate that!

That sounds fun, makes me want to keep going LOL . It's my highlight of the week lol! Make sure you watch talking dead after too they have great guests/celebrity fans who discuss the show and also cast members. They also show a clip from the upcoming episode that hasn't aired yet. They also show how they do some of the special effects and scenes and I love their in memoriam segment too. I also like to do TWD story sync too as the episode airs!

Well, since apparently I won't be around to talk on your thread CSG! maybe you can tell me if your discussion group has touched on whether or not you believe the few remaining survivorsin the zombie apocalypse would really always be trying to torture and kill each other like this, rather than band together in a sensible fashion?

Geez, can't we just have a nice pleasant little show about flesh eating zombies? Unfortunately, no, especially as the theme seems to be marching inexorably toward the conclusion that people are worse than walkers in this new world. I agree: ugh.

It's kind of funny that you specifically mentioned baseball bats.
If you have a problem with bats, I'd stop now.
Have you heard of Lucille?

Oh yes we discuss that alot how would we react if the ZA happened. I think during the whole terminus thing there was a bit of a debate between myself and one or 2 if I remember correctly. Personally I would be more like Rick I think and you'd have to earn my trust rather then like Glenn who is the moral compass and trusts more easily. As you are probably seeing the moral compass usually doesn't do well ie Dale lol. In reality I probably wouldn't last long my hubby says because I don't know how to use weapons like he and Darryl can lol but hubby is proficient with hand guns/rifles/bow/cross bow/black powder so I might have a fighting chance haha! So why can't you join the thread?

I only know about Neegan because I LOVE reading the recaps aalmost as much as watching the show. Most of them are very strict about spoilers but they might say something like I quoted above, for example "if you are fans of the comic book you know how bad Neegan is" stuff like that

Now I think about it I'm surprised they haven't introduced dogs on the series. Did they all die in the apocalypse? If so why aren't there zombie dogs? zombie dogs?

Ummmmm...you don't think people would kill all the animals they could find for food? Also, if zombies eat horses, I'm sure they eat dogs.

Yeah, while you might be okay to watch the rest of season 6 to the finale, there is no way you'll be able to watch on the 23rd. I "know" what is going to happen and it makes my stomach knot thinking if having to watch it. I alternate from can't wait to I don't want to see it.

I was also having dreams about walkers and stuff. I found that reading summaries did help me prepare. I still know what's coming but not the actual specifics so I can still enjoy the show. I am almost caught up with season 6. I have two episodes to watch and the man and I plan to watch it tomorrow night. EEEK!!! Can I just chime in about how much I LOVE Abraham and Daryl!?! Abraham: "Try picking up a turd from the clean end." The stuff he says and the actor's delivery is just so perfect!!
And Daryl...he says a lot without speaking much! I just love him!!! Cannot wait to watch my last two episodes tomorrow night and start season 7!!! I may have to medicate to sleep that night! SaveSave

I don't know what is supposed to happen in season 7, but just the preview alone has me feeling sick to my stomachs. I'll still watch, but I am dreading it.

There is going to be a special show with all the cast members next Sunday. I forgot the name they called it. It's suppose to be really good. I think it's at 8pm central time.
