Funny and unfortunately quite true. My mom was one that either could not or would not remember the names of things. For example, she would call the Cuisinart the jacuzzi. She just could not remember the real name of it and over time, she wore us down. We all ended up calling a food processor a jacuzzi. After a while, it sounds right for some reason. It is even written in some of the family recipes. Won't that make future generations wonder what we were smoking?
She also didn't like the name I chose for my puppy. She just announced that she didn't like it and wasn't going to use it. She would call him puppy, sweetie, baby, cuddles, and all kinds of other names because she was stubborn and just didn't like the name I chose. When my sister got her puppy, she gave Mom the naming rights because she knew how Mom could be. We all kept giving her suggestions and Mom would reject them for some reason or another. The poor dog was 4 months old and Mom still hadn't come up with a name for her. My sister and her daughter were in Mimi's restaurant one afternoon and the topic of the dog's lack of a name came up. They decided to default to the name Mimi and have it over with. Mom hated it, but couldn't come up with something else. She was so funny with her like or dislike of certain words.

I'm not old at all, I'm 50. I have an Alexa & it drove me nuts because I could never get it to work for me. That stupid bitch was so stubborn I was ready to toss it. My son was over one day & heard me trying to get it to play music for me & told me what I was doing wrong. I was calling her Suri!!!! No wonder the damn thing would not work!!!
