This whole series made me cry. Every week me and my mom were texting each other while sobbing about how sad the episodes were.

Earlier today, I got all excited, thinking it started tonight. Then I went to record it and realized my error. But I’m still super excited for next week.

I didn't want to start another thread, so I will just add to this one. I just watched the show from April 1st..... Is anyone else unhappy with the direction the show is going with Trixie? I'm so sad that she has started drinking again and that she just can't seem to find happiness.
I still love this show and think it has gotten better and better. I do wish that some of the old characters would make occasional appearances. |

My thoughts on April 1 plot: I've always figured we'd see a Trixie drinking relapse. TV alcoholics always relapse. And I knew it was imminent when ALMOST happily-ever-after Trixie turns down the drink "so I won't smudge my nails." Foreshadowing! (Much as I love the show, the writing can be clunky like that.) What I DID mind was how they wrote the dentist breakup - his daughter went from nail polish refusenik one week to depressed, listless social reject the next week. They did a wrenching plot shift from jealous ex-wife to the social taboo of divorce. So jarring. Or did I miss something? |

Went in search of season 7 and purchased it from Amazon. 2 episodes were all that was available at the time. Apparently, they will be releasing an episode a week. It's not available in its entirety until, I think, May 22. |

I had heard that the actress that plays Trixie wouldn't be on all season (I guess she started showing to much to keep hiding her pregnancy). I noticed her rocking the the early 1960s pre-hippie bohemian look. Flowy. And I was surprised she wasn't in the beauty contest (although her excuse was more damn breakup foreshadowing!).
Still and all, a clunky breakup. Maybe we'll get another new midwife. We need one with a bit o'sass. |
