So you were next in line and the cashier called you over to her register and these people behind you complain because you went?

So you were next in line and the cashier called you over to her register and these people behind you complain because you went? Yes..very strange indeed. When we left the store, the first person in our original que was still checking out, so there must have been some problem with her items and am glad that they opened a second check out.

That's sucks to have happened. It's like some people don't have a clue what social graces and decorum are at all.

Racism is everywhere.
Now imagine if you yelled out I hate black people. You would be arrested, thrown in jail and probably be fired and tormented until you had to move.

the person of the 3rd group yelled out her car window as they were driving by us "I hate fucking white people."
She wasn’t hating on you, she was telling you about a sexual preference.

Several years ago something very similar happened to me and I was with my three small children. We ended up leaving without buying anything.

While it hurts and stinks to have someone say hurtful things to you...
It happened this one time. Maybe only a few times.
Take a moment and think about what others have been dealing with for years/their lifetime. Native Americans, African Americans/Blacks, Latinos/Mexicans/South Americans, Pacific Islanders, those with mental disabilities, those with Autism/Aspergers, those who have MR/ID, those who are differently abled, those whose sexual preference is not straight, those who are binary...
Yes racism and hate can go all ways but to make a mountain out of a mole hill when it was this one time is wrong. Especially when other groups get it daily.

[ I don’t think she is making a mountain out of a mole hill. She is commenting on a rude and hateful occurrence. No matter who does it, to who it is rude and hateful. I’m sorry this happened to you just as I would be sorry for anyone treated this way.

Sometimes people are jerks and say mean things, like the rude customers. Try not to take it heart. They are ugly people who need to be mean to feel better about themselves.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I've been on the receiving end of rude and racist comments a couple of times in my life and it does tend to stick with you.

In situations like this I choose one of two responses. I either think it's funny as hell and tell everyone my funny story. Or, I decide to feel sorry that they are obviously so unhappy with something in their life that yelling out the window at me probably made them feel a little better. Not the best way to feel better, but at least I'm not dealing with whatever their issue is. In this case I assume it's feeling like a marginalized POC.
9 times out of 10 I go with option 1.

So how you would respond to this situation- to tell everyone that this was funny as hell? I'll respond to your response as an interesting point of view and I can't quite comprehend why this is funny. What am I missing? Is this satire?

She won't care or make herself feel better that she yelled that at us.

What am I missing? Is this satire? Yeah, I'd tell people my story about waiting in line at Big Lots and getting yelled at as the lady drove away. I would find it an amusing anecdote of my day. I wouldn't take it personally or be offended either by the language or the racial element. I've heard worse in my life.

They say it because they are filled with nastiness and want the rest of the world to be just as gross as they are. They don’t care about respect, patience, or kindness. They are in it for themselves and anything to make them appear better than another. Most likely, this person treated the sales person poorly, did not say thank you or have a nice afternoon. There are mean, nasty people in the world. I choose to look at them with pity and tell the “funny, crazy thing happened today....” to my friends and family.
