Happy that Tony won...he made it fun and played a great game. Natalie was very good but I do not like the concept of someone getting back in the game at the last minute and being able to win. I liked her much more than when she was on Amazing Race. Michelle was always my least favorite...so am not thrilled she made it to the end. All in all, this was an entertaining season. Hoping this is the last of Rob and Sandra.

I am so thankful Tony won! I am not a fan of Natalie at all and after reading her interview with Dalton she agreed with Rob that she should have went against Tony in the fire making challenge, and she was surprised she didn't get more votes from those on Extinction but she agreed with Rob again on his comment on her isolating herself from the others.

I’ve loved this show from the beginning, but this was the longest most boring finale ever. I know they had to fill a third hour but damn, I got sick of the commercials!
I’m happy Tony won, and I’m sad there’s no telling when we’ll have a new season.

Tonight is the night!! Jeff does not look so good without pro makeup!. or it might be his hair! Yes, the first thing I said was - Jeff looks weird. Must be his wife did his makeup - LOL!

I was okay with Tony, but I was routing for Natalie. My daughter hated Natalie (from her Twinnies day). If you wanted it live last night the commercial breaks were brutal - both in quantity and length. I really wanted a little virtual reunion show at the end. I do think that on a whole that was a great season. Has anyone watched the old seasons. Some of the guys at work are rewatching them. They say it is amazing to see how strategies develop through time. I think I will rewatch season 1.

I was so happy Tony won! He played an awesome game. Glad most appreciated that.
Natalie didn’t deserve to win in my eyes because she played a different game than Survivor; she played “Edge of Extinction”. Totally different especially since she was there from day 2. I do think whoever made it off of “extinction” should have received a monetary prize - maybe $100,000
I am sad thinking no Survivor in the Fall. Damn Covid-19 !

I don't understand the thinking that Natalie didn't deserve to win because she was on EOE. THAT was the game that was presented to her and she did an awesome job with WHAT she was given. Blame the game/circumstances, not the player. I honestly would have been okay with any of the 3 winning.
Several random thoughts:
Denise's hairpiece was odd.
I thought sure Nick was voting for Michele when he said he knows how hard it is to be on the outs.
I still dislike Rob ~ can't help myself.
Tony should have put a tiara on when he won.
If I never have to see Rob or Sandra again, I will be happy.
I thought what Parv said about Natalie was very sweet.
The jury looked cold and miserable.
Natalie, Michele and Tony looked unfazed by the weather.
Tony won $3 million dollars all because Woo took Tony to the finals in Survivor: Cagayan instead of Kass. Woo would have beaten Kass and Tony would have never been on this season.

Why do people in this thread always say things like "I loved the person who won" or "I'm happy with the one who got the least votes"....? I mean, the thread title does say **SPOILERS** right up top. So anyone who opens the thread and reads it should be prepared for spoilers. lol because it's 2Ps!! some ONE will find something to complain about. trust me!

I'm okay with Tony winning but that finale was not my favorite. First of all, acoustics in a garage are horrible, sorry Jeff.
Also, I thought that they were going to have a virtual Zoom meeting/reunion with all of the contestants...not DRAG OUT the finale by an hour filled with stuff that would normally be on the cutting room floor.
They could have had them all sign in from home and still chat about the season. That was the biggest disappointment..but also at the end there was about 10 seconds to say congrats Tony and that was it. Kind of shocking after I invested into watching the whole season, would have liked a better wrap.
Doubt we will see Sandra again, she sounded DONE. Rob would probably come back but I doubt they will have him on again. I need new players - I was surprised Jeff was encouraging 16 year olds to apply..I definitely don't want to see a child survivor season!!!

One more comment, am I the only one who thought it was strange that they didn't show Tony's reaction back at camp after Sarah voted Ben out? They could have taken a few minutes out of the crying fest between those two to show us his reaction.

Maybe they need to bring back all the first voted out players. That'd be different.

Maybe they need to bring back all the first voted out players. That'd be different. In most cases it would be boring. I'd say at least half of them was because they were the weakest link in challenges. JMHO of course.

They could have taken a few minutes out of the crying fest between those two to show us his reaction. DH and I wondered about that too. But I bet she told Tony before tribal, and so they didn't show it on the show so we wouldn't know that she had decided to do it. And that was a dumb move on Ben's part. You can vote me out so you have a big move to tell the jury, except she didn't even make it to that stage. I wonder what his wife thought of that? I've never liked Tony and I wish Natalie had won. I wonder if Sia gave out any money?

I was disappointed Natalie didn't win, thought Sarah missed the opportunity to take Tony out and Ben's plan to let her take him out to bolster her resume was insane. How much time is there between when they end filming on the island until the finale? I'm wondering if they were all out there filming while the pandemic was taking hold of the world. Did they then come home to be put in quarantine? or did that all develop after everyone was back home? They've been filming 2 season back-to-back in Fiji for the last 4-5 years. Season 39 Island of the Idols was filmed April-May 2019 and aired Sep-Dec 2019. Season 40 War of Winners was filmed May-Jun 2019, so the cast waits almost a year before finding out who won.

I've really loved this season. When last night started I was completely rooting for Tony as I had been for the past few weeks. I love how Natalie had been playing so hard and doing so incredibly well on EOE, but I just couldn't get my heart around the idea of someone coming back from EOE on what would be one of the last few days who'd been voted out on day 2, and win it all. I know technically that is how this season the rules were laid out, but that doesn't mean that after watching every season of Survivor for 20 years, I'd feel peachy keen about it. I hate the idea of EOE or any version of it when it allows a player to come back so late in the game like this. It's one thing when it's done in the middle of the game. I'm okay with that and then letting everyone on EOE or whatever they want to call it that season go home who didn't make it back in. But letting it go later than that and letting everyone stay on the jury? I really hate that version. It seems to me to be designed perfectly to let whoever gets back in get the votes from the jury since they've all been living together for X number of days and bonding and I was fairly sure when it all started that Natalie was going to get back in that game (she had 3 advantages) and she'd win for sure. I really didn't like it when the rules this season was to let idols be played so late in the tribal councils. Normally you can't play them past, what is it 7 people being left in the game? Something like that. This season they were able to play them almost to the end-like until 4 people were left-much too late. It allowed Natalie (she's lucky she found it before Tony did) to get to the end. And yes, of course I have to give kudos to Natalie for winning that last immunity challenge. That's a big bonus in her pocket. She played amazingly well and I do wish there was a huge second place win for her because she does deserve it. But this season I felt Tony really deserved the win. He played the best game out of all of them. I adored his spy nest and it worked so well for him. He was the instigator of so many of the votes and ruled the game so well. He knows how to listen and how to talk to people really well to get them to do what he wants them to do. And he's hilarious to watch. I loved the whole episode and thought it went by really fast, but then we recorded it and zoomed by all of the commercials. I felt so sorry for everyone having to do the final tribal in the rain because they looked so cold and miserable and I just wanted to stop the filming for a second and hand out wool blankets to them all. I did hear Jeff calling out for younger contestants like 16 years old and up and am wondering if they are trying to put together a season of teens. That might be interesting. I wonder how long it will be before we have another season thanks to Covid-19.

I loved the whole season - except for the final episode! I never cry when they bring family on, but I cried last night when they were talking about their "journeys". Ethan has always been my favourite winner so he made me cry, I haven't always loved Rob & Amber but they made me cry too - because he loves to play and they clearly love each other. I cried at Sarah's speech & at Jeff's response.
Then it was all for naught anyway because they voted the white guy once again. I was stunned no-one voted for Michelle. I wanted any of those final women (Sarah/Denise/Michelle/Natalie) to win over Tony.
I'm not on board with a 'teen' game, this season we heard how hard some of them found it to adjust after their previous seasons, not trusting people, self doubt etc. This is a brutal game and not one younger teens should play, they'll end up making concessions for younger players and it will end up as a boring "Survivor Lite" they won't let them get too hungry, or too wet, or too cold. Blah. Plus I want to watch grown-ups, I don't like watching kids/teens do much of anything.
Great season, disappointing end.

I wonder how long it will be before we have another season thanks to Covid-19. I heard that production is starting next week. My guess is that they will pick the contestants (parent/teens???) sequester them for a period of time then get them to Fiji. But what do I know? I just hope they retire EOE forever. What I would LOVE is to have a pure season without idols, advantages, etc. But that will never happen.

I agree with you-I hope too that they retire EOE forever! Once you're out-you're out! That's how I like my Survivor. And I too would LOVE to see a Survivor without idols or advantages but like you I'm thinking that's too much to wish for.

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of the fire tokens...one more thing to take up screen time and give advantages. It will be interesting to see if they keep them around - even without EOE. I would like an old school season..no comebacks, no/few idols or advantages - and no returning players!

If they do a teens...it won't be the latest season about to film they only just asked for applications 2 days ago. If they do get enough applications for a teen series, we won't see it for at least 18 months or more it will prob be season 43 because if they are about to film they do 2 seasons back to back and they will be 41 & 42.

I was ok with Tony winning, but I was rooting for Michelle. I do not like it when people come back at the end. They had no part in voting anyone off and creating the sour feelings the others do. I understand that is the way the game was this time, but I still don't like it and hope they never do this again. Coming back in the middle, ok. More game to play. But the last days, nope.
I went back and watched season 1 on Hulu. Never thought I would want to watch a show like this when I had already seen it and knew who won. but it was so fun! I blasted through the episodes. The game was so different. They had toothbrushes and rain coats! And the challenges were so not challenging. Not even close to what they are today. It took me back in time. I was pregnant with my first son that summer. I remember watching this all summer long. Such a simpler time. Pre 9/11 and no pandemic. Take me back!
