And why are they all in the jury now? That will be a HUGE jury if the rest of the expelled players are sitting on it... I thought that keeping on 'edge' for all that time was twofold - 1. they didn't want anyone going back home and therefore be a spoiler as to who didn't win and also to have everyone on the jury it makes sense to me that if they are going to have the 'winner of all the winners' that everyone gets to vote for them. I love that everyone stays on the jury and it will be fascinating to see who wins it all. The Sandra thing puzzles me though, I think there has to be more to the story. If production are keeping them all out there for the entire filming - they must be getting paid a pretty decent amount to hang around for all that time, otherwise someone like Amber would probably be on the next flight home to her daughters so I'm sure that staying would have been in any contract they signed, yet the let Sandra go with only there merest reference to it & they didn't show any of her exit...which is something the show usually loves to draw out e.g. "shock exit" clips for a week beforehand. Plus Sandra is quite bomb proof, she's usually happy to be quite honest. It will be interesting when the real story comes out. I generally like Rob more than most people here, but I was a bit pleased that he didn't get back in, and that Tyson who spent his token on peanut butter, did. I think Rob loves the game and works hard, but he isn't a 'great' player he's not adaptable and strategic and Tyson will be more inserting to watch going forward.

they didn't want anyone going back home and therefore be a spoiler as to who didn't win Even nonjury early voted out contestants don't go home until the season has finished. We see the jury members at Ponderosa, but all contestants are there. Producers learned after the first season when some contestants were home earlier than expected that they had to keep everyone through the entire filming. I know that in the first few seasons some spoilers were based on nonjury contestants being spotted in local towns or resorts but since setting up a permanent base in Fiji I haven't seen those sorts of spoilers. The last EOE started with 18 contestants. Two left EOE, giving up their spots on the jury but still leaving the biggest one ever with 13 deciding the winner. ETA IIRC, at least one contestant refused to stay at Ponderosa after being eliminated - can't remember the details.

Yes, I wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote that...I didn't actually mean "home" I just meant leaving...they used to let them go on trips etc and not stay sequestered at loser lodge the entire time. Although it seems like Sandra did go home. Most of the regular survivors are happy to hang around, they still get a free holiday, all food & drink supplied, activities etc, so it's a pretty good deal for the average person, but these are all former $1M winners so just a free holiday isn't going to be much incentive for them...so there must be enough money in it to stop the others just pulling the pin as well.

Although it seems like Sandra did go home. I know she said "I'm going home" when she left EOE but I have a hard time believing that she really went all the way home. There would be no way to hide such an early return of a high profile player and I haven't seen any spoilers. Rumor is all Winners are getting at least $25,000 + $10,000 for a reunion show + a sliding amount based on how far they go. Speculation is that Rob & Sandra (and Parv) received much more than that just to show up and I would expect there was a tight clause they have to stay to the end of the season to get it.

I was thrilled to see Adam sent to EOE. His paranoia was laughable. When everyone was milling about, whispering in each other's ear and No One whispered in his year, I loved it! I also loved when Ben confronted him. Not that I'm a huge Ben fan but seeing Adam trying to backtrack and squirm just made me laugh.

Not that I'm a huge Ben fan but seeing Adam trying to backtrack and squirm just made me laugh. Ben isn't my favorite either, but I think he has to be one of the most changed players. I think every week I comment to DD that he has changed so much physically. I'm kind of intrigued by him. Another general comment is Tony's labeling everyone as a big player or quiet player drives me bananas. He only considers certain guys to be big players and worthy of winning. I'm seriously hoping for an all female finale because of him. And why oh why did Sarah give up her reward for Nick? I know it was his birthday, but still a really questionable choice.

If Pat from his tribe hadn't been injured in transit from a challenge, Nick would have most likely been the first person voted out during his season.

I’ve just watched the last 4 episodes today. What is everyone thinking of this season? It’s probably one of my least favourite ever (with the one Immediately before up there too . I really want to see new contestants rather than continually having some come back over and over.
The Australian version has been fantastic the last few seasons so maybe I’m a bit over it.

As for Aussie Survivor, it's only been 6 seasons and they are already having people come back AND have played an all stars...with some people playing twice back to back...so they've played in 1/3 of all seasons. If you don't like returning players than the Aussie Survivor is much worse at it than the USA one. Personally I like returning players, I'd rather have people on that want to play the game for the time that they are there rather than the ones that are only interested in advancing their modeling careers when they get off.

I agree, but everyone see everything as a calculated move and it left me going "wait, what?" because not many compete hard for a prize (food!) to give it up on Survivor just to be nice. You don't want to give anyone a reason to get rid of you. AllieC, I'm enjoying the season although I wish EOE only had one fight back into the game. I think whoever battles back next is going to be very hard to beat because of they have been living and bonding with the jury. I like either an all returning players or all new players season. I'm not a big fan of bringing back a few players.

I'm on a great Survivor Fan board, and a Twitter message showed up from Sarah: she says she wasn't being nice OR strategic, she's just allergic to Chinese food! Probably gets migraines from the MSG if I had to guess. So there ya go.

I have really loved this season!!! It cracks me up when they want to talk about who to vote off but nobody wants to be the one to throw out someone's name!!
Also all the whispering and back and forth at tribal is fun too!

And if she did say it during filming and they edited to make it look like she was being generous (based on Jeff's reaction and the conversation with Tony after), I think that stinks.

LOL I realise that I was contradicting myself with enjoying the Aus last season which was All Stars to this one which is similar. I don't know why I'm not enjoying it but I'll keep going because I usually like the post-merge stage much better than the earlier ones. Do you look at some of these players and think how the heck did they win their season LOL.

I just realized we didn't discuss Adam's mispronouncing of the phrase fleur de lis. Every time he said lees instead of lee, it was nails-on-the-chalkboard to me! Of course, that could be regional since I lived in NOLA/Baton Rouge for many years.

Of course, that could be regional since I lived in NOLA/Baton Rouge for many years. I didn't notice. I was more impressed with him having such an out of the box idea. As far as this week goes, it was a neat loved one visit. I usually hate those episodes, but it was fun to see everyone's kids, and I loved that the extinction players got the visit as well. And the little scene at the end of the show when the jury hugged Jeff was really sweet.

I liked the episode tonight. It was a nice change.
I've been re-watching Season 1 and it's still my favorite. I liked the rewards, challenges and the focus of most episodes. They didn't spend a lot of time on alliance discussion that seldom ends up like they discuss most of the show.
And... episodes were about 44-46 minutes. The good old days.

I've been re-watching Season 1 and it's still my favorite. I agree! It was all new and was wonderful to see it all play out. Richard definitely had a plan that worked. I loved the family visits tonight and that EOE got to see their loved ones as well. Tyson's little girl is gorgeous. Actually all of the kids were adorable. Some of the younger ones reminded me of my sister and me when our dad would come home after being away for months on the submarine. We were so shy at first. I wish Nick would have been voted off. Looks like Tony could be in trouble next week. I hope Jeremy's using his advantage doesn't put a huge target on his back but I think it will.

There's a clip of the voting at cbs.com.
The minority alliance (Kim, Tyson, Denise and Jeremy) planned to vote for Sophie. Jeremy left Tribal, leaving nine votes total. Denise lost her vote to Sarah's Steal a Vote. The remaining two minority alliance members, Kim and Tyson, still voted for Sophie.
Seven votes cast by the majority alliance. Tony, Nick, Sarah, Michelle and Ben voted for Tyson. Sophie and Sarah (stolen vote) voted for Denise.
