The latest season of Survivor starts tonight with all returning players who won their seasons. There are players we love and players we love to hate! Looks like it's going to be a great season!
Please do not post spoilers from online sites ~ only spoilers from the episodes once they have aired. West coast Peas beware!

I do hate that survivor & the masked singer are on the same night & time though. I like to watch survivor live & record MS, but my dh is not a survivor fan & prefers to watch MS so doesn't always work out

I skipped the last two seasons of the USA one...the Australian one has been on and they've been doing Champions vs Contenders which is one team of Survivor fans and one team of well "champions" in their field - Olympians, footballers etc. I've been enjoying that format much more than all regular people.
The current Aussie series is also "all stars" and all people who have played before, and I'm enjoying it.
Now this new "Winners at War" season...I'm all in for that too. I'll be all Survivored out after the next couple of months!

Enjoy the new season, girls! I haven’t watched in several years. In case anyone is interested in doing something similar...
One of my friends is super creative. This was her FB post tonight:
SURVIVOR AND FOOD AUCTION! Five different dinners, five different drinks, five Happy Lastname - Pizza, CFA, Hoagie, Chinese, and Tacos. It was so fun!

So Natalie was the first voted off, went to the Edge of Extinction, found an idol and gave it to Sandra in exchange for a token. So now Sandra is safe for 3 tribals. What the hell, Natalie? Once again Sandra will lie her way to the end and they will let her do it.
Second tribal, Amber is voted off and joins Natalie on EoE.
I have to admit there are a few people who I don't remember at all.

I loved it! I haven’t been this happy about a first Survivor night in a long time.
I’m not like most people I guess, I really like Sandra. I know she comes off as a B, but I like her game play better than say Parvati’s. Maybe it’s because I’m surrounded by military people. Most of my military friends are very confident and very in your face honest and she reminds me of them. Who knows lol I just don’t have an issue with her.
Hearing Natalie say to Amber that she wishes it was someone from her own team that was voted off, made it make sense to me why she offered the idol to Sandra. It was her way of slapping the face to Rob, Parvati and gang that voted her out. She’ll have an ally if she makes it back into the game and Sandra is still there. I think I’d have done the same thing. She also already gave her fire token to her bestie, so she full-filled that obligation she probably felt.
Anyway... I thought it was a great opening episode!

Loved the way she "cheered" on the team when she sat out the challenge. Loved that Natalie sold her the idol. Wasn't sure how I felt about the tokens, but do like the way those on EOE are still influencing the game. I love Ethan, but this game is really over his head. So much has changed since his season. Loved how quickly Tyson was willing to abandon his poker alliance.

It was a good episode. Loved seeing some familiar faces. Interesting to see how they’ve aged. They all look great. Seeing the dad bids on some f the guys was cute. It was also cute seeing them talk about their kids and how hard it was being away from them. I was touched several times.
The fire tokens seem like they have the potential for being a fun twist. I’m not sure I want to see them on every season, but I’m good with them this one I think. I’m okay with Island of Extinction too I think, but my biggest concern is that having that group over there will take away from time away on the main beach aand that always seems to translate to less reward challenges. Survivor producers, keep the reward challenges; they’re our favorite part!
I am already wanting to shake Rob’s tribe members. Really? You have all this concern for Adam and Denise because they walked off for too long, but Rob and Amber who are MARRIED doesn’t worry you as much? That’s insane. I really thought Rob wouldn’t be able to manipulate these past winners, but nope, some seem as star struck as newbies. Wth Ben?! Why would you run straight to Rob and sell out the people you had just aligned with? Not smart!
The first challenge was fun to watch. I was shocked at some of the pairs that were able to pull out a win over others. I was so bummed to see Natalie go. I love her! Plus I love her partner in crime Jeremy and I hate to see him left vulnerable. Why the hell wouldn't you people vote out Rob?
I didn’t even realize it was a two-hour show, so was happily surprised when the episode kept going. I couldn’t believe the other tribe lost that second challenge. They were so far ahead and doing so well. Jeremy was a beast in the ring toss though. As far as Natalie choosing Sandra to sell her idol too, remember, she had to sell it to someone on the losing tribe. Otherwise I’m sure she would have sold it to Jeremy.
Jlynnbarth, I’m with you. I like Sandra too. Not sure I want her to win again, but I’m enjoying the hell out of her. I love watching her scurrying around, getting people all riled up.
I kind of loved that they voted out Amber. And true to firm, in next week’s previews we getti see Rob go into full Robfather mode acting all threatening because the tribe dared to vote HIS WIFE off. I mean who do they think they are? Again, other dumb tribe, please vote him out!!

I love all the people that most are sick of. Rob, Sandra, Parvati, they are all excellent players. I mean come on, why would no one be gunning for Rob or Parvati?! Seriously, they’re idiots 😂 at least they thought to break up a friendship early.
Amber wasn’t ready for this style of play. She had to go....she can’t handle this Survivor. Rob didn’t prepare her enough.
Loved Sandra cheering on her team even though she sat out. She was keeping Tony in the game mentally, he was too focused on the other team for a minute, and you cannot do that. Never lose focus.

Voting out Natalie was a dumb move. Glad the other tribe got rid of Amber. Enjoyed the episode.

Rob is my favourite player of all time. I love how he is able to talk his way out of most situations, how good he is at manipulating things to go the way he wants them to. I know he's not going to win, they won't let him, but I hope he stays for awhile because he is fascinating to watch
Amber - meh. didn't care if she stayed or left. I agree she was not ready for this style of game play. She wouldn't have lasted long anyway. Same with Ethan, this is way over his head. Yul is out of touch too but he was quick at figuring out how to make it work for him.
Sandra just gets on my last nerve for some reason. If these people aren't careful this is going to be her 3rd win

And I think the new TOKEN is a refreshing way to change up the game. I also love how all the "old" winners are having to adjust to the newer challenges of the more recent Survivor games. You can see how much they are like deers in headlights.

I generally love excellent players and I do really enjoy Pavarti and Sandra. I always have liked them. It’s just Rob I can’t stand. Before I explain why (not that I think anyone necessarily cares why...lol), I’ll say a few good things about him. He is really good at this game. I have to give that to him. The guy is a master manipulator. He seems to have a very good work ethic, both on the island in real life. That’s no small thing. The best part about him IMO is that he seems to be a really good family man; he clearly is very devoted to his wife and kids. Oh, and he CAN be funny. He’s said some pretty entertaining things along the way.
Why I don’t like him. I couldn’t stand the way he talked about women in his first season. I really disliked how he behaved in the Amazing Race. I remember him snatching kids by the shirt in the streets of India and dragging them over to help him and Amber with a task. While doing it he mugged for the camera and said “it’s really hard to find cheap labor around here” and laughed. I thought that was really insensitive and so tacky. When the team whose vehicle flipped over in the middle of the desert with a cameraman injured and laying on the ground, EVERY. SINGLE. TEAM. stopped to make sure everything was okay and to see what they could do, everyone except Rob and Amber—they drove right by. When Rob lost that season, and to a more decent team, Joyce and Uchenna, Rob whined everywhere that there was cheating. I just think he’s arrogant, I think he thinks the world revolves around him, and I think he’s rude. And now I see that next week he pulls that “people are going to pay!” for daring to play the game and vote out his wife. Blech!

I thought the token thing would be lame, but the more we learned about it, the more interesting it became.
Really enjoyed seeing Rob at work. He had Ben under his spell and Ben knew it.
Nice to see people playing right out of the gate, instead of the usual "vote off the oldest woman first".
