A Note to Our Guests About the Coronavirus from CEO Brian Cornell
Over the past few days, so many of you have been in our stores and on our website stocking up on all the essential things you need to keep your families healthy and safe.
I want you to know that your health and safety is our first priority, too.
We’ve always taken great pride in our clean and well-run stores, and we know this is more important than ever right now. On top of our daily cleaning procedures, we’re adding hours to each store’s payroll to make our routines even more rigorous. This means more time will be spent cleaning our stores, including cleaning surfaces like checklanes and touchscreens at least every 30 minutes. Like many others, we’re taking guidance from the CDC, which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take. And, out of an abundance of caution, we’ve temporarily stopped food sampling in our stores.
We’re also staffing up our teams to support in-demand services like Order Pickup and Drive Up.
And of course, we’re committed to taking care of our team. For weeks, we’ve provided them with up-to-the-moment guidance and information so they can keep themselves and their families safe. We’re encouraging sick team members to stay home and asking our teams to travel only if it’s business critical. And, to help support our team in real-time, we’ve set up a forum where we’re sharing information and taking questions 24/7.
Speaking of our team, they are working around the clock to make sure that the products you want are available when you need them. As demand for cleaning products, medicine, pantry stock-up items and more remains high, we’re sending more products to our stores as quickly as possible. And this weekend, we started to limit the number of key items per purchase, which will allow more guests to get what they need.
At the center of our company’s purpose is a commitment to help all families, and it’s something we take to heart in good times and bad. This is why we’ll be working hard to keep our stores open so we can be there to support you and your families.
Brian Cornell

I was at two different Target the past few days. Both had signs up limiting Clorox wipes. I wasn’t in the TP area but hope there was a sign there as well. The only thing mine was wiped out of was hand sanitizer. I have plenty of those little ones from bath and body but wanted to grab one for my parents.

Not that you can get toilet paper, but I also received an email from Nordstrom a couple days ago assuring they they are taking extra steps to clean the store.

In addition to the one from Target, I also got one from Best Buy outlining how they were handling the coronavirus.

I got an email from Citibank I only have a visa through them but they said if you are effected by this to call the number on the back of your card. They went on to say that they are following new cdc guidelines in their branches as well. I was surprised to say the least.

The big grocery chain in this region (HEB) has something similar on their website. They don’t have my email so I’m. It sure if they sent anything out.

Target has food sampling? I've never seen that at my local Target. I'm not sure if I've ever seen it at my closest Target, but I've definitely seen it at SuperTarget.

How come all these giant companies have solid plans in place that they are executing properly and our government can’t get its shot together and do the same thing?

I just got two more. One from our library, all activities are cancelled until at least the end of the month. Items such as chairs and toys have been removed. They are encouraging everyone to utilize their online systems for streaming, books and magazines.
Our local historical theater is still open but has hand sanitizer by the door, cleaning high touch areas frequently, eliminating token swapping for pizza you order and they have ordered a card reader system that will eliminate cards being transferred from volunteers/employees and customers.

I met a woman over the weekend that works at a Target distribution center. She said they had plenty of hand sanitizer, they just couldn't get it to the stores fast enough.
The letter was encouraging that businesses are doing what they can to ensure safe environments. I hope Walmart does similar things though I haven't seen evidence of it in our store. I have half a dozen Walmarts within easy driving distance and only 1 Target.

I got an email from my health insurance. The gist of it:
- Copay is waived for office visits, urgent care, ER, labs related to Coronavirus
- Waiving early medication refill limits on 30-day prescription maintenance medications (consistent with your benefit plan) and/or encouraging you to use 90-day mail order benefit. We will also ensure formulary flexibility if there are shortages or access issues, and not hold patients liable for additional charges stemming from obtaining a non-preferred medication resulting from shortages or access issues.
- 24/7 nurse hotline free of charge if you have symptoms of Coronavirus

I got one from Westjet lots of door signs at Starbucks, timmies, the airport, Part of the Westjet email ticked me off. I was happy to see the outline of how the santize the planes and fresh airflow. But they are offering to wave cancellation fees if you booked between March 3-31. So if you booked knowing the virus was out there you can cancel for free but those of us who booked months ago are stuck paying the fee? Roll up the Rim is cancelled in it's traditional form, probably a good idea at anytime, yuck: Tim Hortons does not identify COVID-19 as the catalyst, but says "the current public health environment" means "it's not the right time for team members...to collect rolled up tabs that have been in people's mouths."

I was in a large Target store with only 7 people working. Everyone was calling in sick. The woman checking me out was coughing all during the transaction. I Am settling down and staying home for a bit. Just got word that our river cruise that we planned for a year has been cancelled. It’s our 40th wedding anniversary and we had great plans. I know it’s for the best but after the last couple of years we had, we were really needing this.
No the worst problem in the world right now but disappointing
Hope everyone stays healthy and safe.
