Crap! Three out of the four in our family that are in the Survivor pool lost our players now. My dh had Kelley, who went home tonight. My dd had Val, and I had the fabulous John Rocker...woo hoo!
I was really hoping that John and Jaclyn were going to go with Dale and Kelley. I really don't think I'm too nuts about Missy and Baylor. I'm very surprised Jaclyn decided to trust Baylor after she already screwed her over once. And Missy was just ridiculous with her big ol' momma bear routine. She doesn't like her dd being "picked on" by Dale. It's a game dummy and the idea is to target people and vote them out, you know, like your dd targeted DALE earlier.
And her whole thing with the rice was super annoying. The other tribe is on the brink of having no food and are going to have to make some kind of awful deal with Jeff to get more because of the eating habits of Missy and her other tribemates. Yet she thinks it makes sense to go against the food advice of Dale, the guy who's on the tribe that has rationed their rice out properly? I can't believe no one else was standing up to her and saying something too.

I really don't think the tribe out of rice should be allowed to trade for more rice. They had an advantage in challenges by consuming twice as much food as the responsible tribe who rationed their food wisely.
I cannot believe that John/Jaclyn "went with" Misty and Baylor. I think that was a really dumb move. (although I've never thought John was all that bright)
I'm honestly surprised that with how John and Jaclyn couldn't keep their hands to themselves or their tongues out of one another's mouths, that they weren't targeted first.

I thought John/Jaclyn going with Baylor and Misty was so dumb, especially given Baylor flipping her vote, I was surprised that Wes's dad didn't try to approach Dale and Misty and get them to go against John/Jaclyn using the argument if you get rid of me who do you think will be next to go but the older of the loved ones.
I would have been ticked too at the rice situation at the camp where they have hardly any rice and the way Misty was cooking rice like there was no tomorrow at Dale's camp.
The PDA would really get to me between the gay couple ugh and even John and Jaclyn, get a room lol.

I'm not crazy about Missy and Baylor and even though I don't mind them switching up the teams, I think they could have 'picked teams' or used some strategy to keep any pairs on opposite teams.

I completely agree with everyone!
How can anyone find Missy & Baylor good allies? I officially hope John & Jaclyn are the next to go. It's one thing to align yourself w/people you don't know that well out of necessity, but they knew these women. They are too stupid.
I am hoping the preview for next week is a trick - there is no way they should be getting more rice. I realize that some of the people on that tribe had nothing to do w/the eating of all the rice, but that is the way the game goes. It's called Survivor for a reason. If you were on a dessert island w/nothing, you would not have Jeff Probst showing up to bring you extra rice because you didn't ration your food well. And if any of them find they can't make it due to hunger, then tap out.
And I agree - I can't believe none of Dale's tribe mates agreed that rationing the rice was the way to go.
Exactly. What did she think was going to happen? Get over it.
Pretty much everyone except Dale & Kelly pissed me off tonite.

Missy and Baylor really annoyed me today, they seem a little "mean girls" to me.
But wow, would I be ticked if I had been diligently rationing rice with my tribe and then get dumped on the tribe with no rice. I don't know if I should call them selfish or just stupid. And the way Baylor and Missy got all snotty when they got called out for not rationing the rice, clearly Missy just didn't like getting called out.

I can't believe no one else was standing up to her and saying something too. I agree with everything you said Jackie. I was also really hoping (and I really thought John and Jaclyn were going to go with Dale and Kelley because it made sense!). I was so shocked when I saw who was voted out tonight that my mouth actually dropped open. It was a WTF moment. Are you kidding me? You've got Baylor who can't make up her mind who to vote for and is notorious for switching her mind up until that last minute not to mention being a loud mouth, and then you've got Missy with her stupid "Mama Bear" routine who's mind is clearly NOT in game mode but in "doing anything to save my daughter". With those two-with that couple to choose from how is it that no one else in that tribe decided that either one of them were good choices to get rid of tonight? Where were their brains tonight? I don't blame Dale one bit for sitting there getting pissed while Missy cooked more and more rice. No wonder it disappeared over on the other tribe, if they were cooking it at that rate every day. And now that I think about it, I think that maybe the person behind most of the rice cooking decisions (the decision on the blue team to cook so much of it) was Drew. Remember last week I posted that I'd read in an interview he did with Malcolm after he was eliminated that he confessed he was allergic to shellfish and fish-and that while the rest of his tribe was eating crabs and fish he couldn't eat any of that at all. Kind of makes sense, doesn't it? Stupid, stupid, move in my opinion to go through all of your rice like that-what did they think was going to happen-more would just appear out of the heavens? I feel sorry for the tribe mix-up and that the new tribe members who were orange members have to now suffer for what the blue members did in the past-in the preview it shows Jeff arriving at camp with a bag of rice but it says something about it not being free and a price will have to be paid. My guess is that they'll have to give up whatever reward competition they win in the future. What else could it be? They have nothing else to give. Unless he makes them go to tribal and give up a member-that would be really pushing it though. Debbie in MD.

I agree with everything you all have said. Ugh at the vote.
There are a couple of other things that annoyed me last night, or that I wonder about. First, these people are surrounded by an ocean. How is it that the no-rice tribe can't find *something* to eat in that water? Snails/whatever-they're-called that cling to rocks, or things in tide pools, etc. In other seasons you always see people wading along the shore looking for things.
Second, I didn't like how Jeff led the tribe that was losing the immunity challenge when they got to the part where they had to shake the basket thingy to get those bags out. At first they were timidly shaking it, despite how the first tribe did it (you'd think they would have noticed). It wasn't until Jeff basically told them what to do that they started really shaking it. Sometimes I think Jeff gets too involved in "leading" the tribes during challenges, but last night was the most blatant that I can think of off-hand.
And, I HATE having only one real challenge! ugh.

I agree with you all except that dale was a jerk the way he went about everything. I wish if they were going that way they would have got rid of Dale, his daughter was nice. Dale was as ridiculous as Missy with his behavior. While he was 'right' about rationing the rice, from the footage that they showed, he didn't explain it rationally he just complained, demanded, insisted and called names, as if he was survivor boss. I actually wonder if he did approach that more calmly but they only aired when he got nasty?
Either way they were both a detriment to their child in the game.

Missy and Baylor. Both act like big, spoiled brats. I can not believe that John & Jaclyn chose to side with them. Especially when you consider that Baylor has already flip flopped on her once. And the waste of the rice? It doesn't even make sense! At one point Missy made a comment about how smart Dale and Kelley were and that's why they needed to go. Um, if he is so smart then maybe taking his advice about rationing would be a good idea. I can't wait to see what the deal is with Jeff showing up at camp with a bag of rice. I can't remember anything like this ever happening before. I agree with everything you all have said. Ugh at the vote. There are a couple of other things that annoyed me last night, or that I wonder about. First, these people are surrounded by an ocean. Completely agree with you about looking for food. When Kelley and her dad where off talking about the rice drama she was holding a stick with 3 short prongs on it. Why isn't that being used to try to spear fish? Remember that season where they caught the wild pig? I'm sure there is food "out there". It's just not being served on a plate for them. I agree about Jeff prompting and guiding the players too much. He said something when the tribes merged about couples possibly being perceived as a threat now that they are together. Why should he say that? He shouldn't be feeding ideas about how to play the game. Let the players make their own choices about targets instead of ideas being given to them.

Glad to see people unanimously disliked that decision to keep Missy and Baylor. My dd likes Baylor though for some reason--I guess at 15 she can relate to her. I agree with the person who mentioned all the PDA with John and Jaclyn-it was a bit much. I think John and Jaclyn are really going to regret the decision. I still don't understand why they chose Kelly to leave over Dale. And I don't know, I didn't think Dale acted that bad. Maybe I need to rewatch. He was irritated as he watched them keeping adding scoop after scoop of their carefully rationed rice. It would be hard for me to be nice while I was watching that. I really, really hope that whatever ends up going down with the other tribe and their rice, that Jeff mentions it to everyone so they can UNDERSTAND the detriment of not rationing your rice. The only time I can think of where Jeff gave more food was in Australia. And that was because their rice washed away in a flood. They still had to give up a bunch of stuff to get it though. Okay, for you big fans, here is Jeff's Q&A and Dalton Ross' recap.

I really, really hope they don't do another Blood v. Water season. I don't like the entire focus on people protecting/getting angry about their loved ones being voted off, being picked on, making out, etc. I like when no one knows anyone else playing. I've watched every season of Survivor, and this season isn't all that enjoyable. And, I don't like the tribes being able to negotiate for more food. Bring back the days where they truly had to survive on the environment, not beg for more rice because they messed up.

The making out last night by both couples was really nauseating I can turn on a soap opera to watch that crap or read a harlequin lol. I want to see the contestants actually try to survive the elements and each other!!

It doesn't sound like either team did a great job managing their rice. The one tribe ran out, but the other kept saying they could go 39 days at the rate they were going. They'll get more at the merge, so they only had to last until then. They were so weak in challenges that their team kept losing to the team that was eating.
The producers can't let people starve to death, so on a beach with little food supply, they are going to come up with something to sustain the tribe. I suspect they will have to give up shelter or fishing supplies (do they have fishing supplies?), but I don't think it would be a horrible idea to make them sacrifice a player for rice - after all, they very well may have won more challenges because they were stronger. In all fairness though, there was just a tribe swap and half of the members on the tribe with no rice were on the tribe where they were eating too little. I suspect Drew, who isn't even there anymore, was the largest instigator - I think he is the only one we heard complaining about the lack of food on that tribe.

I agree, they don't want anyone starving. However, unless it's just not being shown on t.v. (which is possible) I sure don't see a lot of hunting going on. I've watched people on Survivor spending tons of time trying to get food, whether from the ocean, climbing rocks and trees, hunting for chickens, snakes, etc. Again, maybe it's just not being shown, or maybe they really are in an area with absolutely nothing to eat. But I've watched every season, and even if they only find a little, they find something. And, isn't this the same tribe that begged for flint? I don't remember (and correct me if I'm wrong) seeing teams' past asking for "stuff," they had to deal with it, and figure it out. If one team can figure it out, the other should be able to. I make it sound so easy, don't I? All of this being thought while I watch on my comfy couch, under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn, lol.

Nothing to add as we all seem to be on the same page. Can't stand Misty or her daughter. If they wern't going to send one of them home, they should have sent Dale not his kid. And only give rice to the ones that didn't scarf it all down. I hate greedy people. These contestants get dumber every season.

But I think they're just a bunch of idiots, they begged for a new flint (and had to sacrifice to get a new one), they claimed they had looked everywhere, and then after they had the new one they find the old one in the sand by the fire pit... They must have looked so hard. Bunch of morons that think they're on vacation with room service. I think it would only be right next week if they have to vote out one of their own on the spot. They had the unfair advantage by eating more food, time to level it out. Although it's not fair to those that just became part of this tribe. Kind of goes to show how selfish people ruin it for everyone, in real life, and on a reality show.

FWIW, no one is going to starve to death. I can't remember where I heard the rule of 3 (I think it was CSI): you can live for 3 minutes w/out air, 3 days w/out water & 3 weeks w/out food. They're not even close. Wanna see starving? Watch Naked & Afraid. Again, the show is called Survivor. They need to learn how to do that.
FWIW [HASH]2 - no I could NEVER do what they're doing. But I know that from having watched the show. Didn't they? And since I know that, I would never sign up to play. And apparently, some of them shouldn't have.

I remember on the 2nd season one tribe didn't store their rice securely (and I seem to remember an argument about where to keep it) and it was washed away in a flood. I think Jeff took some of their stuff in exchange for replacement rice.

I remember on the 2nd season one tribe didn't store their rice securely (and I seem to remember an argument about where to keep it) and it was washed away in a flood. I think Jeff took some of their stuff in exchange for replacement rice. Yeah, I mentioned earlier about the only time I remember Jeff replacing rice was in the Australian Outback season. I was wrong though--it didn't wash away in a flood (well the rice DID wash away, but Tina--at great peril as I remember--crossed the flooded river and retrieved it). Jeff actually replaced their rice earlier when they ran out of it because they didn't ration properly, just as this group didn't. Jeff came and took away their shelter, including their tarp and Colby's huge Texas state flag that they were using as part of their shelter. What you're probably thinking of when you said about them not storing it properly is probably related to the fact that they were very foolish about where they built their shelter. They built in a dried out river bed. So....when the rains started, everything washed away. But the rice replacement happened before that. One of the things I meant to mention earlier, some of the tribemates were talking about killing one of the vultures--throwing a rock at it so they could eat it. Alec just insisted they couldn't eat it. I wondered why they didn't ignore him. I looked it up and you can eat vulture meat but I guess it's illegal to do so. I think they're protected or something. And that's sometimes the problem at these locations--they can't kill some animals for food. I know in Africa they talked about how they weren't allowed to kill anything. That season they were given a bunch of dry goods and canned goods--more so than in other seasons I believe.
