New season starts tonight on Bravo at 10pm EST. Looking forward to this season, it will be returning chefs based on commercials I have seen.

We used to watch this and then kind of lost interest, but I have been thinking about giving it another try.

I can't wait to see it!
There is a new Food Network chef competition show that I'm enjoying called Tournament of Champions. The competition is set up like a bracket in March Madness and pits 16 famous chefs in head-to-head battles. They have a random way of choosing a protein, amount of time, etc. for each match. The meals are judged by 3 top-of-the-industry type chefs in a separate room. The judges don't even know what chefs are competing on the show, so it's totally judged based on the food on their plates. Some of the competing chefs were a little ticked because of their lowish seeds in their rankings in the bracket! Unfortunately it is hosted by Guy Fieri, not my favorite, but it is really fun to watch. They do two battles per one hour show.

I'm looking forward to it!! Project Runway is over, I need another good competition show for some diversion. I agree with the one girl who's been back multiple times - let's retire her!

What did you guys all think? It's Jen that is back again. ugh. I liked the cooking over fire challenge. I wish they would get more time with cooking though. Is there a cooking show where they can take their time? LOL

So glad Top Chef Is back. I wish it was on twice a year instead of once. It’s one of my very favorite shows. I’ve watched every season multiple times. I makes lists of chefs whose restaurants I want to try if/when I travel to their locations.
I like the all star seasons like this. What I don’t like is when they mix previous players with newbies. The season Brook won was one of my least favorites for that reason. There were some interesting chefs I was excited to watch cook but they were all eliminated quickly while the returning chefs kep prevailing. I hated that.
I agree that Jen has probably been on enough. I also could do without Lisa and quite honestly Leanne. She worked on Top Chef for years. I don’t think it’s fair for her to compete.
Kevin Gillespie is one of my favorites. I was so glad to see him there. My dh has eaten at two of his restaurants. The first was Woodfire in Atlanta, where he worked during his season and for a while after. Dh did the tasting menu, got to meet Kevin and even talk to him and drink a whiskey with him. I have a signed menu from him, but was mad my dh didn’t get a picture. Last year he went to another of Kevin’s restaurants, The Gun Snow, also in Atlanta, he thought that place was great—loved the food! I was very worried Kevin was going to get booted off the first episide. So glad it was Joe instead, but was hoping for Leanne.
I really wish they'd share more of the recipes after each episode.

I like the all star episodes. I think everyone is a little more relaxed during them. Well, as relaxed as you can be on top chef. I expect Bryan Voltaggio to win. 😄 . I’m happy to see Kevin and Jen again. I could do without Angelo and Leeann, and Lisa. Hoping Padma isn’t as cranky this season as she was last season.

I love all these shows. I am presently watching Masterchef UK season 16. Good cooking, no drama. I am watching My Kitchen Rules season 11 that's Australia I believe. Way too much drama, but I watch. I will be watching Top Chef once I make my coffee. I will look for the one mentioned above on the food network. I have sort of stopped watching the US cooking competition shows as they are more about the hosts, the drama and personalities more so then the ability to cook.

Jackie!! you are my TV spirit animal!! LOL. We like the same things. I too always say I would love to eat at all the Chef's restaurants! I have only eaten at one so far, as he is from MN. Not many MN Chefs on there. It was Justin Sutherland from last yr.

I love this show. Kind of disappointed that Pasta Joe is gone, but also kind of disappointed that he insisted on doing pasta for this challenge. I had a girlfriend trip scheduled for the Palm Desert Food & Wine festival next week & there are always a few Top Chef contestants there - everything has been canceled of course.

I was sad to see Joe go. He did not learn from his mistakes.
Jen is still annoying.
I love Kevin, and I love Eric.
I think Lisa will give some of the chefs a run for their money.
Bryan may end up putting too much pressure on himself.

We did end up watching and enjoyed the show. Although it is returning chefs, we haven't watched in years so don't really remember anyone. The only exception is Brian Malarkey, who I see fairly frequently on Food Network. He has always seemed nice, so I guess I am rooting for him, although he was kind of annoying and bossy this episode. Dude, you're not the team captain, back off!

Who else watched last night? I will admit, not to be a Debbie Downer, but when we are half way through the episode and all we are getting is them tasting food in restaurants I got bored and annoyed. I understand the inspiration (and free advertising, publicity for the restaurant) but it was very little actually cooking on the contestants part.

I like those challenges where they go to other restaurants. I like to hear about other good reseturants in other cities. So it didn't bother me. I was surprised at who went home, I think it should have been the one blonde girl. Geesh can't remember her name, that made the Indian taco..

I just think it was too much time allotted to it since there are so many chefs still in the competition there was way less time for the cooking/judging. Maybe even 10 mins less would of been nicer for me.

Is anyone watching Last Chance Kitchen? I tried to watch the show on demand and it isn't available until like 4/4 on my cable network so I decided to download the Bravo app (I have a Roku stick) and we were able to watch. The App also had Last Chance Kitchen.
Not to get off track, but I'm finding that the apps have shows quicker than on demand. I couldn't get Food Truck Race or the new Tournament of the Champions on demand yet, but they were on the Food Network app.
